INDIANS CAN GIVE THEM A GOOD FIGHT
by deepak on Nov 20, 2007 06:42 PM  | Hide replies

I strongly feel that we have a great and experienced batting line up to bat well in austrailia. if you look at their bolling apart from bret lee they do not possess any great threat in test cricket.

The problem is that we do not have a very good attacking bowler. it is imperative that we have fit zahir,rp,shreesanth(can boll well in test) bolling well at the same time. but still we have a better bolling attack than we had on previous tour. i think we are a much better side in test cricket then we are in one dayers.

austrlia should not take us lightly

You are right deepak.Fine observation. At least we do not as badly as lankan's. If Munaf is fully fit and bowl with as aggrasively as he did against England in his debut series. Kangroos are vulnerable to genuine fast swing bowling and only Munaf posess this ability in Indian line up.

33-35 years average age of Fab Four
by Sai Prakash on Nov 20, 2007 06:35 PM  | Hide replies

Laxman - 33 years old
Tendulkar / Dravid - 34 years old
Ganguly - 35 years old

The last series in Australia in 2003, we nearly BEAT the LOUD Mouthed, Show Off Aussies. Glenn Mgrath had claimed that they would win 4-0 but these 4 Batsmen (specially Laxman and Dravid)nearly won the series but at the end a fighting innings by Steve Waugh and Simon Katich ensured the series was drawn 1-1. Also, Kumble and Ajit Agarkar well supported by Zaheer and Pathan bowled well when it mattered.
However after 4 years, all these guys are 4 years older as well, so hope they have the FIRE left to deal with the Aussie fast bowlers.
Lets hope this happens and the FAB 4 may never tour Australia again, so hope they fight Fire with Fire like they did against England.

However, the KEY will be Karthik and Jaffer. They will have to give us starts of at least 50 runs every time.Only then will be it be easy for the FAB 4.

In case any of these FLOP in the Pak Tests, Yuvraj should be picked. If 2 of the FAB 4 flop in the Pak series, Uthappa should come in.

Sreesant, RP and Zaheer will form a good attack to be backed up by Kumble.Harbhajan will be useless against Aus as they EASILY tackled Murali.

Kick on Ganguly's ass first.....can't bat, bowl or field either.....useless burden that the team is carrying. Let him to carry drinks in all the matches.....he is very good at it. The same logic applies to Dravid as well...they both should be kept out of the dressing room.

the runs scored by ganguly as below was actually scored by ur baap...

and he cannot bowl as well..thats why in the last pak ODI, the 5th bowler due of sewag and sachin gave away 77 runs....lol.

What a fertile cricketing brain you have...gabbar bhai tum India me kya kar rahe ho...apki kadr theek se nahin ho payegi....

ganguly and indians in one day 2007
by Mature Stud on Nov 20, 2007 06:28 PM  | Hide replies

In 2007, following are the highest run scorers in one day:

Hayden: 1555- 29 matches
Tendulkar: 1425 - 33 matches
Yuvraj: 1287 - 36 matches (1 x 100s, 9 x 50s)
Ganguly: 1240 - 30 matches (12 x 50s)
Dravid: 823: 31 matches (8 x 50s, 3 x 0s)
Gambhir: 634 - 21 matches (1 x 100s, 3 x 50s, 3 x 0s)
Utthappa: 509 - 22 matches (3 x 50s and 12 x 0s).

why should Gambhir or Utthappa be preferred in place on Ganguly....why?????????

Ganguly also is a very useful 5th bowler who enables India to take an additional batsman...he also bowled 76 overs in 2007 for 7 wckets and gave away 344 runs (liitle less than 4.5 runs per over!!!)

How many teams would dare to make him sit out???
Even at the age of 36 he delivers and contributes a lot.

Salute to Saurav Ganguly!

he was the highest run getter before pak series...even higher than sachin!!!

Guys and ganguly bashers...whatever you say, he he stays in the team because otherwise Indian team cannit survive on sachin alone...

Samjhega, Kumble bhai bhi samjhega...if Ganguly will dance to lee, all others will follow as well...

Immature Stud, Everybody here are smarter and more educated then you're.. LOL!!

While you keep plugging the number of runs gangu scored, also look into the dropped catahced by him, his strike rate, amount of dot balls etc etc..LOL!! Once you do that, you will be like rest of us, and after ganguly. Anyway, all these beyond your reach with your level of intellect ..

ganguly and Indians indians in tests
by Mature Stud on Nov 20, 2007 06:21 PM  | Hide replies

Test matches in 2007
Karthik: 6 matches: 571 runs (1 x100,5 x 50)
Tendulkar: 6 matches: 560 runs (2 x100,3 x50)
Ganguly: 6 matches: 489 runs (1 x 100, 3 x 50)
Dravid: 6 matches 394 (1 x 100, 2 x 50)
Dhoni: 5 matches 313 (0 x 100, 3 x50)
Laxman: 4 matches 219 (0x100, 2x50).

If you want youngsters to be given chance, it should be at the expense of Laxman and Dravid.

Not at the expense of Ganguly. Also Dhoni is a reasonable contributor with bat: even better than Dravid in average and way better than Laxman.

Youngsters are not even stamina to stand whole one day or two day in crease for test cricket.Even Yuvaraj & Dhoni also don't have that much patience like dravid/ganguly/laxman/sachin.....If these four people quit the team at once, then team india may worse than ZW/Bangla....
