I dont THINK Gambhir will be suitable for Test match opening position. He gives plenty of edge over slips (In test match fielding will be heavy in the slips at initial overs ) and he drags ball back to his stumps, so his chances for getting out in first few overs is too high.
Dinesh Kartik also face heavy competition against Yuvi. Because Yuvi can not replace the middle order guys ( Sachin,Sourav,Dravid and Laxman) so he can come to the playing 11 only as a opener.
i think selectors can dropped dhoni because he is not in condition to play test cricket next 10 years. if dhoni dropped then yuvraj will automatical fill his place.
i think dhoni is not cricketer, he has hyped more than he deserved.
he can play only in asia ( india, Pakistan, Bangaladesh) except srilanka because ball can easily comes on the bat but outside asia he is blunder. remind me his one inning outside asia which won us . i agree he has leadership ability but if u r not good player then it doesnt matters. so please dont hype dhoni as he not deserved this hype. we will surely understand that in next australian tour.

Dhoni has done well till now so don%u2019t blame him.I%u2019m not a big fan of Dhoni bcoz his batting style is so awkward never seen him strike the ball with grace and class and also the way he defends is so unpleasing to the eye. Anyway cricket has changed its more about power hitting now. I%u2019m waiting to watch Lara soon bcoz each stroke of his had class written all over.

i agree he has done well till now but in asia only . cricket is playing not only in asia. i ask u remind me one inning outside asia which won us match. dont comapre him with lara, he is too small in front of lara

mr. trilochan,not i m not mad but how u bare non playing captain, with hype only. i sincerly ask u remind me one inning outside asia which won us match. he only suitable for that maar dhad cricket called 20-20.

Sirji test cricket also requires mar dhar nowadays if u want to put pressure on the opposition and win matches. Gilchrist does that for Aus.

dhoni is not only hype. his temprament and positive aproach is very good. He can change the situation any time in favor of his team. so i m fully with him. and i m not saying u r mad just dont go to my words. that is my way of talking.

Mr. Kishore Kumar, I think your memory is very short. Dhoni had saved the 1st test in England which was almost lost and we had lost 9 wickets. Dhoni played till the end with RP and saved the match and also scored 90 runs. So he can play outside Asia also.

Boss its just common sense that if he wouldnt stick to creaze for that long we would have lost that match. How can u trust rain, what would u have done if rain doesnt come for some more time. ?

that much is not saved by dhoni it is saves by rain, he has not sense that rain is coming so i have to stick to crease, that time he just playinf for himself to secure his place.

what new he played around 25 test matches at average of around 35,if he new let him play at ranji & improve his batting.
Both the openers especially Dinesh Karthik has been woefully out of form and this might be a problem for India if Dravid has to come out too early in the innings .. If the bad form continues .. we could have Dravid or VVS come out to open directly .. and make place for Yuvraj in the middle order.
Pace Attack has been a perennial worry for Indian Cricket .. and still continues .. The Pace attack should be able to make a few early breakthrough's so that the spinners do not get established and set batsman to bowl too .. otherwise the spinners will be taken for runs too!
If India manage to do decently in these two areas .. then we should not have much problem .. not only here against Paki's but against the Aussies too!
A Job well begun is half done .. so we need to start well with the bat and the ball!

Player like shewag at oening slot can change the course of the game by scoring double hundred in just a single day unlike jaffer.... shewag struggling form in ODI doesn;t mean that he will not do good in test..

you are right in a way. Unlike others he will decide the fate of match on the first day. Scoring a double hundred once in a blue moon can not be and should not be a logical reason to select somebody.

Dangerous player? That is why Shewag has not got the selection in Indian Cricket Team. Only good players will get the selection. No dangerous player.

he is vulnerable against pacers...SS Das has perfect technique along with Deavid...Akash chopra can replace Dhonish...Dravid can keep wickets...
The only change in the playing XI from the last Test against England would be Harbhajan in place of Shreesanth.... RP will retain his place, due to his good performance against Pak !!!
