I really can't understand why pakistan is still keeping in kamran akmal...i have'nt seen any keeper like akmal ever....akmal drops so many catches which cost pakistan to lost the match.
ganguly s run rate is 70. that is fairly good consideringthe situation was not a high score we were chasing. I think the selectors must have also told him to stop his slow selfish batting at the top

thanks for your decent comment. Please see ganguly s run rate since world cup> for an opener not in one match even near 80 irrespective of the requirede runs to chase. DHoni and yuvraj play more for the situtaion. Last match with the robust inigs from Gambir allthat was required was a sensible inings and no rush to achieve the target. that is what Y and D did. please reply.
I think this series is gonna be a whitewash. The current Pakistan team lacks any energy. Their captain short of ideas. The 80's and 90's showed the dominance of Pakistan over India in cricket but now its payback time for us. If some drastic measures are not taken Pakistan cricket will have the fate of West Indies or Zimbabwe

no we have taken drastic measure now we have given dravid to pakisthan bcoz dravid scored a double ton in some roadside match ...and younis khan thinks dravid is very good for ODIs so now dravid has been gifted to pakisthan
I feel by dropping Yusuf's catch Ganguly unwittingly helped India. Yusuf, who is as correct and copy-book as Dravid, continued to play his slow game and the dropping run rate put enormous pressure on Afridi and Shoeb, both of whom got out in trying to force the pace. Yusuf later improved his personal run rate but Pakistan's innings failed to get the requisite momentum. This is how a number of Indian veterans have done in the past and this what the present management has penalised. The dynamics of ODI are very different from test matches. I feel with the present dispensation India is world beating side. If only they had done this correction a couple of months ago, the Aussies would have lost to us.
RE:Ganguly dropped Yusul
by Atal Advani on Nov 06, 2007 02:39 PM
this is the way dravid has contributed to indian cricket...
firstly he was not even considered for ODIs
then ganguly took pity on him and accomadated him on the ODIs as a standby wicket keeper by dropping parthiv patel
then ganguly took mor pity on him and asked him to captain just one match and dravid the brilliant cricketing sense that he has went and declared india when tendu was on 194 hahaha
dravid sucked up to grey chuppal and stabbed ganguly in the back to snatch away the captainship from the prince when the most successful captain of india was going thru a rough patch
compromised indias position in the world cup by insisting on playing sehwag against the wished of everyone
mislead the country by making big totally false statements like 'we are well prepared for the ODI world cup'
disgraced india as he lead india to defeat against bangladesh and getting thrown out of the ODI world cup
like a true dravidian coward he quitely ran away from the captains job when he realized he was not fit to play ODIs leave alone captainship..didnt have the guts to tell anyone about his resignation
all along this fablous career he maintained an awesome strike rate of 10 and got good and set attacking batsmen runout with his great running between wickets repeatedly
if these idlis had their way they certainly would have made him to be the captain of 20 20 team

This is a typical dal-roti way of thinking, when things are going fine the Dal-Roti take the credits and when things are not going fine they blame Idlis.

this is a dmoestic cricket match ...that too against a weak side international cricket is different he is finished from international cricket eapecially ODIs he has no place in the indian team ... after playing 300 deliveries he has just managed to cross the strike rate of 60 ...sad

Yeah, couple of mistakes happens by everybody. But this does not make him a bad player. Dravid is better match winner than Sachin over past few years. Also we are winning few test matches over past few years only because of Dravid innings building capabilities or else would lose any test match within 3 days to anybody.

You are right are, as you said, he was a match winner in the past. He is match loser today and so can not taken in today.

Yes, this is a domestic match... yes, international cricket is different... and that is precisely why testing a player who has been a part of the international side for more than a decade, on the domestic level is not a smart idea... Even if Dravid had scored a duck in both the innings, he would still deserve to make a comeback. This is exactly what I had maintained during Ganguly's ouster, too... What matters at these times when such stellar cricketers are going through a bad phase, is just sitting out for some time... just an opportunity to regroup one's thoughts and come back afresh... Look at Ganguly... His form in the domestic stint was not setting the field on fire... But ever since he has come back, he's never looked back. The same is going to be true for Dravid. Its no joke playing for years on end without a break. Yes, both of them are running against their age... But, tell me, have we really found a replacement for Ganguly in the opening slot? He might not be scoring at a run a ball, but as long as he is there, Tendulkar fires on all guns... The moment we lose Ganguly cheaply, a couple of more wickets tumble and Tendulkar understandably goes into a shell... So it is for Dravid, too... No one to take his 1st down position... The problem is, all the people who were supposed to take the slots cleared by big 3 at least by 2005, failed miserably... (to be contd.)

Sehwag, touted as our next captain, Yuvraj (just recently has started showing some maturity... after 7 yrs!)... Kaif (nowhere around)... We have lost a complete generation of cricketers which is why we have to continue with the big 3... It is only now that batsmen in the form of Uthapa and Gambhir are showing some potential to take over the mantle from them. But as long as they are not completely ready the big 3 will stay on.

Yeah he couldnt score against the aussies so we know how good is he.instead of declaring and giving bowlers a chance with 40 overs to go he went for the personel milestone.it was easy to declare when sachin was on 194 is called double standards.

Dravid has not gone out of Indian team. He is where he belongs i e test team. He was in ODI only by default because India did not have more suitable players. Now that suitable players have come into contention, Dravid has to make way for them. Don't you see how after dropping India's run of winning has started? It will continue like this even down down under. Place in ODI or tests is no one's birth right. All players have to make their place on merits and retain it on merits. Ganguly is continuing only because none of the substitutes taken in his place showed a steady performance whereas Ganguly despite being on decline, is still good enough to score at an acceptable level, at a run rate of 70 plus and is able to tackle most of the hostile bowling that openers face by using his experience. I think he too will make way for some better player sooner than later.
