coz one was at home and the other one was in australia without mcgrath and warne...look at sachin how he performed from the front against mcgrath and warne in bouncy pitches of aus..pitches in 2003 were just too flat...u just focus on stats....u need to learn more cricket to focus on pitches and strength of bowling attack too.

great reminder vermaJi..this guy is blind in his admiration for useless sachin..Not only to me, but according to top class scribes and cricketers all around the world, dravid is far better than sachin TODAY in present day cricket

1999 is long gone, then came 2001 and 2003. Talk about the recent past. To let you know in 1974, probably Sachine - Dravid couldn't even wipe their own rear. Judge the player based on their most latest performances..

For your kind information Surag, Sachin also scored well in 2001 and 2003 series. In 2001 series Dravid scored 338 runs with an avg of 56.33 1 century and 1 halfcentury, where Sachin scored 304 runs with an avg of 50.66 with 1 Century and 2 half centuries. Which are comparable. But in oneday Dravid scored mere 146 runs with 1 halfcentury and avg of 29.2 where Sachin scored 280 with an avg of 56 with 1Cnetury and 1 Half century.

Very obvious you do not know anything about Cricket. You are all over the place and when nothing left to srgue you go on personal abuse.
dravid pathetic stats versus the mighty aussies... have a look and decide for urself if he is good enough.....scoring centuries againgst the likes of lowly england and windies is different from the the aussie...
matches runs highest average century fifty 42 974 80 24.97 0 8

dont live on the past dont live on the past dont live on the past Sachin is not good enough to face aussies, srilankans and kiwis,, he is only good enough for Kenya and zimbabwe..kick him out with full force.kick out the balls consuming dwarf

First of all, why are you putting performance in ODI matches only. I guess Test Cricket is much tougher. Anyway I decided to check in Cricinfo. The average of Ganguly against Australia in ODI matches are:
35 matches 774 runs at an average of 23.45
Dravid had scored 928 runs against Australia with an average of 25.77.
Rahul Dravid: 619 runs with an average of 123.80 VVS Laxman: 494 runs with an average of 82.33 SR Tendulkar: 383 runs with an average of 76.60 V Shewag: 464 runs with an average of 58.00 S. Ganguly 284 runs with an average of 47.33 (This Australian Team had Brett Lee) 2001 (Australia in India)
Rahul Dravid: 338 runs with an average of 56.33 VVS Laxman: 503 runs with an average of 83.83 SR Tendulkar: 304 runs with an average of 50.66 S. Ganguly 106 runs with an average of 17.66
(This Australian team had both McGrath and Warne) This simply shows the class of Dravid and the role he played in these two tours.
this team will do well for sure with 4 strokemakers in Sehwag, laxman, Sachin and Saurav...young exciting potential like Tiwari(another strokemaker)...we need agressive batsmen against Aus to counter their pace attack...and Chopra will do the blocking at the other end to see off the new ball.

why not Dravid.do you think he is not capable of getting runs in overseas.. what Agarkar is doing in this team. the changes could be: For Aakash Chopra- Rahul Dravid Manoj Tiwary- Jaffer/Irfan Pathan Ajit Agarkar-Harbhajan Munaf-Sreeanth/R.P Singh

How can you even think about excluding Dravid? Dravid had an excellent tour to Australia. This Australian team did not have McGrath but they had Brett Lee:
Rahul Dravid: 619 runs with an average of 123.80 VVS Laxman: 494 runs with an average of 82.33 SR Tendulkar: 383 runs with an average of 76.60 V Shewag: 464 runs with an average of 58.00 S. Ganguly 284 runs with an average of 47.33
