CLUELESS Dravid : Mr COOL
by alok sharma on May 21, 2007 08:35 PM  | Hide replies

Dravid showed poor captaincy again when Bangladesh could be forced to follow on, in absence of Kumble he kept RP Singh, VRV Singh and Power bowling. Did not use enough brain to ask Sachin or Ganguly to bowl....

Mr Cool, you will also be remembered as CLUELESS Captain in Indian cricket

i think wid four bowlers out of which three haven't even played tests properly its commendable to get dem out on a batting wicket ,still bowling was bad at the end, cannot blame dravid for every single thing.

He (Dravid) should be given Man-of-the match award.

122/7 Bangladesh. They should be finished by 140 or 150.
Instead Minow's tail-enders scored 116 against the exelllent captaincy of the Great Wall !!

Against a Minow team his score is just 2, not 200 or 300.

Mates, imagine a Mortaza preventing the follow on, right when India had the Banglas on the mat.

These Whatmore guys showed that they have the gumption and gall and guts to give Team India a fight, and even a fright, so to speak!

Whatmore has emerged as the winner-in-chief in this fiasco rain-disturbed series.

Also, keep in mind that stars like Sachs and Gangs should have scored much more then the border-line hundred. It was as if they wanted to cross the line, and that's all that mattered to their miserable form in the last year or so...

In other words, they got a life-line from the BCCI for scoring centuries, albeit, against a much-superior minnow team - Bangladesh.

Well Mates, you've got to face England, and that too on their soil, so let's see what you do against Andersons and Pitersens and Flintoff.
I predict a white-wash in English conditions.

For all of you who laud India's performance in Bangladesh - you have to hang your heads in shame, because they did not beat the Banglas in a comprehensive fashion, as would be expected from the best batting line-up in the world, of course, as always - always on paper.

Cheers with a few beers,

AL in Australia

P.S. Wait for the Series against Australia - man, you will be pulverised and decimitated to pulp.

I am just waiting for the day when India travel to Australia. I want to see Tendulkar Duck and get hit on the helmet and Ganguly wince against shortpitched stuff.I want to see these 2 fail miserably (Which they will coz australia have shaun tait and other young and REAK fast bowlers who ae half of these guys age. We have to accept that these guys are over the hill.By the way the man of the match in the curent test will gladly not be a Tendulkar or a Ganguly for their selfish hundreds but to the gallant Mortaza for his terrific ALLROUND performnce. these abangladeshis really play with so much pride that these lazy fat indians neve have.

Well said Mate! I am with you.

Mortaza did the salsa around the Indians, both with the ball and the bat.

Team India and Nation India needs to take this a wake-up call that they have it cumming against stronger opponents like England and - the mighty Kangaroos!

Let's see what the think-tank does in the coming days. Perhaps they will rest Sachin and Saurav, against England, since they must be tired, after they scored hundreds.

They surely deserve to be with their families, since they had a torrid time for the last two years or so. The selectors should rest them, till they have to play against Zimbabwe or some other bottom-of-the-rung teams!

Aaah, you'll see Sach and Gang score centuries once again, and the whole country will go ga-ga on their performances.

Give them Tait, and Braken and Hogg and the others - in Australia - and let's see Gangs leave the ball moving outside to off-stump; and Sachs deal with the rising delivery. Man, those Kangaroos have you well documented and know your weaknesses thoroughly.

It's best if you two get sick, or have a tennis elbow, or break a hand or something, rather then go to Australia. I mean this with good intentions : mearly to safeguard your inability to play in their condition - now that you have past your prime.

Accepted, you were great guys some day in the past - but it's time to bow down gracefully, just like Glenn and Brian and the others.

Probably it's the sponsors that you are worried about, right? You have long term contracts with them, and you have to play to keep your 'value' intact, isn't it?

Well, that's Indian cricket for you!

Well said. Even if you don't know Shaun and the rest of the Aussie Gang, your words are a prediction of things to come.

Hell, who does not remember the 5-0 white-wash that the English players suffered, last season?

If that's not the fate of India - my name is not AL nor your name is JK.

Hey Mate J K Rowling, relax, our names will remain the same!

I wrote a hundred times that Australia will win the WC, and hundreds tried their best to word-bash me, of course with bad-words; lingo that was typical of the illitrate litrates; and every form of Hindi language abuses - that I did not understand.

Of course, in the end - they had to swollow their own spit and spite!

You sound like a wise Indian owl, Signor Utpal! :-)

You seem to know the 'who's who' of Australian cricket - and you have vaunted yourself admirably in this forum.

Is it the right word - shabash? (to mean - congratulations)!

I am sure you are feeling proud at this moment, and re-reading your post, again and again, right? A you are enjoying a narcissistic feeling at the moment, irrespective of how many people will read your post, ain't it?

You will go to work tommorow and talk about Aussie-bashing to your collegues, and all and sundry! You make me laugh guy!

I did not give names to say that I know names. I just rattled out a few names, and who knows - by the time the series is on, they may induct some freshers - to 'experiment' against the Indians!

You know, we Aussies like to experiment - Greg did that, but when the WC came, your BCCI guys said "let's get some more experienced players - what if these newbies fail?" Greg was the guy who taught Irfan to bat against the ball. Earlier, he was balling his ball to the bat.

Well, perhaps you'll see a new team altogether, by the time the season comes - of course Matthew the Gladiator; GilChrist the Blaster and Ricky the one who's going to over-take Sachin's records, sooner then later; and Symonds and many of the other guys I drink beer with, should be around. Unless CA decides to rest them against a weak team like - TEAM INDIA!

Well, Parekh, even Australia's bench-strength or their second-string team (Australia A) can punish India this time.

All the best to your high-expectations. We'll see what happens when the series comes around! I'll be looking out for you, Mate!

Cheers! By the way, what do you drink?

Too many I's, Me's, in your posting!

Good to know you (another I) 'll be Australia for the fist day of the boxing day test match! To be precise, you will be there. Cool, You'll learn how to drink beer, because the majority of Australians drink beer during a game!

By the way, will you be there only FOR THE FIRST DAY, of the boxing day test match? 26th December to be precise!!

What will you be doing after that? Going to some Pub? Or look out for some blonde beauty?
Maybe the TV cameras will point to you...and your family will see you doing the unimaginable = Utpal Parekh!

Take care! In Australia we do not do anything in hiding.

If you need help, give me a shout; I'll host you at some Pub. But like I said - what do you drink? I heard that some of you guys put a used battery in some and make a drink out of it! And it is one of the most potent drinks, besides being a killer drink...

Just kidding mate! Don't take anything personally. You know, life is fun, and cricket is fun - whoever wins, or loses! Morally India lost today, so what's the big deal?

With good-will towards you, and ill-will towards none,

AL in Australia

Dravid is a good batsman but not a good captain.. even not a average captain. He lacks ideas.. no enthsiasm in field.. never take responsibility for defeat... always bad decisions.. u cant blame ganguly and sachin for the loss to BD in WC, when dravid out for silly.. If indian bowlers cant restrict BD batsmen below 190 that is below average effort from bowlers.. dont say chamcha giri and all.. why Sehwag selected to WC tour? UTThappa? did they did well against BD? I tend to agree with the theory of sabotage by Ganguly. But why did no one come to defend the sentiments of the people of Bengal when Greg Chappel showed them his nasty finger? Why are we so divided that a foreign national plays with the pride of one section of our contrymen and our hearts are not wrenched? We must pause to answer these questions for these issues do not arise in cricket alone. These questions raise their head when a Jaichand has a Prithviraj blinded. Times and again India has paid for such weaknesses. The powers of cricket get worked up when Damien Martyn 'manhandles' BCCI Chief. However, they loked the otherway and even sided with Chappel when he humiliated Bengalis (and mind you not Ganguly). As I write this I must mention that I am not a Bengali but only a proud Indian. The alleged sabotage got Ganguly a hero's welcome on his return from WC. After all this brave son of Bengal had worked his way back into Indian team, positioed himself with gutsy performance in South Africa and broke the "finger' pointed towards Bengalis.

Anil Kumble is a spent force and Yuvraj Singh an Egoist who cant manage people with his huge ego. It is better to have the super egoist Tendulkar as captain as the rest will at least accept to that. At the risk of starting a new debate, I would put Mahendra Singh Dhoni at the helm... And, I would put dinesh kartick behind the wickets, and play MS as a batsman only...

I think one needs a bit of flamboyance to take captaincy to the next level... Sourav had that, and I think now MS Dhoni has those same characteristics...

I think MS is the next India Captain...

These 2 losers could'nt bowl the last 2 tailenders when they had them at 148 for 8. Can this hapen in any team part from India? So much for youth and the skill levels. These two as the premier pacemen should have warrped the match but they let the tailenders to score heavily and avoid follow on.The biggest losers in this match are these two along with the 9 other smaller losers.
