Bangladesh and Mortaza take the honours.....today!
by ALIRIO SALDANHA on May 21, 2007 11:12 PM  | Hide replies

IT'S BEEN BANGLADESH ALL THE WAY TODAY! FIRST THEY AVOIDED THE FOLLOW-ON, AFTER BEING 8 DOWN!

SECONDLY, THEY BROUGHT DOWN INDIA TO THEIR KNEES, WITH INDIA LOSING 2 WICKETS AT 3 RUNS PER OVER, IN 6 OVERS!

SHAME ON THE POOR PERFORMANCE OF TEAM INDIA!

IT LOOKS LIKE IT IS INDIA THAT ARE THE MINNOW TEAM!

THEY CAN WIN TOMMOROW, BUT IT MAY BE HIGHLY UNLIKELY. THEY DON'T HAVE THE KILLER INSTINCT TO GO FOR THE KILL!

EVERYBODY POINTS THEIR FINGERS AT DRAVID - BUT IT'S THE WHOLE TEAM TO BLAME!

CHEERS BANGLA! YOU HAVE PROVED YOUR METTLE AGAINST INDIA, AND YOUR WIN AT THE WORLD CUP WAS NO FLUKE!

ALL THE BEST IN THE FUTURE! NOW BEGIN TO LOOK FURTHER AHEAD - PAKISTAN IS YOUR NEXT GOAT TO KILL! THEN AGAIN LOOK FURTHER - SEE WHAT YOU CAN SEE.

AL IN AUSTRALIA

You guys r sick. i dont understand after 1 failure how every body can turn against ur own country, our own team. If u remember more than 50 % of the team had played the last world cup and almost won it. Our team is having the worst phase now and its morale is down, so all v need to do is support them but all v r doing is breaking their houses, hurting them. Is this how v respect cricket in India.

I agree right now aussie have a very good balance in their side but v r not very far behind. All v have to do is find the right winning combinations. Thats been our problem in the past, v had best batsmen but v didnt had good fast bowlers and wicket keepers. Still v r short of a good allrounder, which was the deciding factor in 2003 world cup. It will take time in order to rebuilt the whole team. BCCI is doing the right thing by changing the entire team and getting the right combinations, so u might c some setbacks. But if everything goes in the right direction then u might c india beat the aussies in the near future.

Dude I know that but let me tell u 1 thing u a win cannot b decided by better conditions or facilities but u need mental strength, self believe, and thats exactly wat v lack. Tell me 1 thing, England doesnt have better facilities? Still they havnt won a world cup n even they struggle to win matches. The truth is v r scared of aussies, thats our problem n v have to rectify it. When v do that n have right combination of players, then I dont think v need 20 years to beat them. May b v ll do it this year, but as I said its too early to predict anything.

U r right cricket has been given tom much importance, but now more players r coming on a winning note in other sports as well. Indian soccer team almost made it to the world cup qualifiers. Indian tennis players r making their mark or I would say they had made their mark with paes n bhupati became double champions in Aussie n French open, but their personal differences ruin everything. Its too early to say that India will be champions in any sport or not but the truth is the India is waking up to c a new beginning.

Hey JK, I like the fact that you think out-of-the-box! Man, without even getting in to the time machine - the result of the Indo/Aussie Series is already a part of destiny!

India will naturally and expectedly and easily lose - this all goes without saying, because they are destined to lose.

Now, I am not talking some like some 'sadhu' hocus-pocus! It's just an easy prediction.

Anyone who is a die-hard fan will hardly subscribe to this destined prediction, but then, your ego will have to die-hard to accept this 'fact-of-the-future' !

AL 8 1/2 hours ahead in Australia,

Tima and again we have seen that Indian weakness is in the bowling department and not in batting..

But Instead of talking and correcting Bowling options, we concentrated on batting and its failure.....

With this kind of bowling we are surely not to win against England and Aussies (i firmly believe to win test match you need to take 20 wickets,,,period ) and then everybody will be happy to sack Sachin, Ganuly and Dravid...

So best of luck and prepare a list of players for next year or prepare list of bowlers who can take 20 wickets in England and Aus... and send at least 'A' team to aus in sep/oct/nov to give them some preparation before series.

"Time and again we have seen that Indian weakness is in the bowling department and not in batting."

Sorry dude, Its both. But batting is more unreliable than bowling in India. And it is gonna remain the same way as long as we have Tendulkars, Gangulys and Sehwags in the team.

KC,

U r right.. we indians always want Batsmen score century in bouncy pitch but we dont think or wish that bowler take 5 wickets in innings.. Bowlers cant take 10 wickets in 100 overs then all indians blame Batsmen for the loss. Nobody care abt bowlers... some bowlers get 130/2 or 3 wickets.. that is not enough for our batsmen in bouncy pitches.
We need good bowlers..strike, fast bowlers with full fitness not like Munaf Patel. After his first series with England he said with Press that he is aiming to reach 100 MPH (160 KMPH)...:)) now he is hardly bowling at 125 KMPH.

You said: "IF INDIA CAN CONQUER STUART CLARK, INDIA CAN DRAW THAT SERIES! IF NOT, AUSTRALIA WILL WIN THAT SERIES 4-0"

Australia is not India to lose when one man fails, Aussies play for their country as a team unlike Indians who are famous for their selfish record-making players. If one man fails in Australia, someone else will rise to the occasion, they play as a team.

With the current team of Sachin,Ganguly, Sehwag and Dhoni - India can only beat them in its dream.

He (Dravid) should be given Man-of-the match award.

122/7 Bangladesh. They should be finished by 140 or 150.
Instead Minow's tail-enders scored 116 against the exelllent captaincy of the Great Wall !!

Against a Minow team his score is just 2, not 200 or 300.

This is the the first time in Indian Cricket History that Rahul dravid played a shrewed politics with the team. In a very short period of captaincy he proved that indian cricket is his own family\'s business property. Even he didnot leave to Sachin to finish master\'s career. What nonsense he is telling about to produce youth talent team. Where he has damaged all the youth talent like Irfan Pathan, Virendra sing, Harbhajan, yuvaraj etc, to whome Saurav succeded to prove their talents. He has to learn the tricks from Saurav , how to inspire, to motivate the young. Only dialogue is not every thing.

whats rahul to do with pathan's performance ? if somebody forgets the pace, and also line and length, its got nothing to do with his batting, nor demands of the team.

sehwag relies on hand to eye co-ordination for his batting (he does not have batting skills like saurav, tendulkar or dravid). the moment sehwag's hand to eye co-ordination is off he's in trouble, like he is right now. only way to regain it is to play well in county/ ranji.

* harbhajan has perfomed really well only in that series against australia, after that there's a few blips of performance. what can anyone do about it ? destroy a bowler mentally ? whats with him not to perform ?

* yuvraj has been in and out of form, despite all courtesies extended to him.

you shoot more out of your mouth for your favourite player - than out of genuine stats or follwing whats going on. there's more going on in indian team than only the captain - there's selectors, the BCCI, the coach, the players and the most important one - the Sponsors. any wonder why anyone entering team lg/ samsung/ *.MNC company - always were in the team despite poor performances ?

Does the Indian Board have courage to bring to a new captain as it happened in South Africa and NZ... that type of thinking and aggresiveness is what is needed at this hour n not being happy that Indian's have won One day series in Bangladesh and Sachin& Ganguly back to form after there centuries against Bangladesh.. Kaif does not even deserve a place in the team based on his batting skills and you want to make him captain? Based on what logic? How can you say that Kaif is better captain than Dravid? Just because India won the U-19 WC 8 years ago under his capataincy? If you look at the reasons of why India and Pak do well in U-19 but not at the seniors level you will realize that in Aus, Eng, NZ or SA very few of their top players have played the U-19 because they mature mostly in the their early 20s. So stop this crap of Kaif being made captain.
