India doesnt need another opener when VVS LAXMAN is available
by cebu jonas on May 21, 2007 06:58 PM

Dravid could open in tests with Karthick, and Laxman could come in at No.3

But Dravid worried of him?

Dravid's negative approch kills others too
by cebu jonas on May 21, 2007 06:56 PM

Any team would like to send a pinch hitter in this situation.
In the absence of Dravid's baby Sehwag, Dhoni or Zaheer should have been sent to hit out atleast a fast 50....

I donno why a passive player like Jaffer sent in after he failed, same category Dravid stepped in.......

Fully DULL cricket

Why did Ganguly not bowl?
by satarupa sen on May 21, 2007 06:52 PM  | Hide replies

I wonder why Dravid did not ask Ganguly to bowl. He has often been the "man with the golden arm" and has provided vital breakthroughs in short spells. I guess Dravid missed a trick here. Finally it was the other man with the golden arm, Sachin, who got the 9th wicket. Dravid should have brought Sachin and Gangs much earlier and used them in short spells.

Dravid - World's best ambassador for promoting Cricket!...
by crick on May 21, 2007 06:21 PM  | Hide replies

ICC has chosen Dravid as the Cheif for promoting Cricket in Non-Cricket playing nations.

ICC has come up with an idea to send most of the Australian Team(?!) members under Dravid's captaincy to play matches against minnows
UAE,Uganda,Bermuda,Namibia.

ICC chairman, later told the media that, "We want to inject more of confidence to these Teams to beat a team consisting players from Ausi Team. We've found non other than Dravid could do this job better. Further Bangladesh has now emerged as a competing side to challenge any test playing nation. It's not only because of Whatmore / Bashar, considerable credit should go to Dravid as well. So We're confident that, Dravid will continue doing his excellent work by leading this team with full of Ausie players, and inject confidence in the listed nations to play a competitive cricket against the other Test playing Nations".

later Dravid said, "He need Sehwag as well in the team". when the reporters asked him for th e reason, he said, "He is the most reliable player, and whenever he is in the team, he will get the morale booster that, He is not the LOWEST SCORED batsman in the Team".

Pakistan also exited from the WC after 1st round. An they even lost to a non-test-playing country. So there is no difference between India and Pakistan. On the other hand Sri Lanka played the final. And now see how Pakistan convincingly defeating Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi. So how can one talk about standard. Except Australia, I think all other teams are almost same. So dont criticize India, and watch India to play...

Against Bangladesh these players are struggling to get one bowler wicket and how it is possible to win against giant australia, srilanka and other country.
mortaza is hitting every ball and Dravid did nt know how to handle the bowlers.
Immediately he should have to resign from the job.

Even when Ganguly was captain Indian bowlers had this same problem of getting tailenders out. Even if Dravid resigns as you suggest the next Indian captain will have the same problem. The captain is only as good as his team.
