It was indeed great to see two of India's most fascinating cricketers of our generation and over the past decade come back into the team and score centuries.
Its true that the opponent was Bangladesh. And the pitch was flat too. But a test century is still a test century and Bangla isnt really that bad nowdays either. So while these two hundreds weren't something extraordinary, these do mean a lot to Indian cricket. In form Sachin and Sourav is a HUGE plus for Indian cricket because if they play well, India will surely do well. Even today, I would rather watch these two (and Dravid and VVS) play for India and score runs than watch all the supposed newcomers.
Finally, as an Indian Bengali, I wish to say that Sourav's comeback has been FANTASTIC since SAfrica. Anyway who says otherwise does not know cricket. He is a role model for perseverance for not just Bengalis (who are supposedly weak and lazy people) but for all Indians. It is also a shame that several Indians from outside of Bengal fail to see this point in their blind anti-Sourav tirade based on regionalism and keep criticising him!!! These are all big time losers. Only when they can show such determination in whatever they do in life, should they even raise their voice against SCG. Otherwise, they should just keep quite and learn.
Forget CWC and move on India. Victory against Bangla is largely meaningless, but defeat would have been a catastrophy. So keep on winning from now on and end with the Aussies in Aussieland. Fat hope but if certain SRT, SCG, RD, VVS and VS play upto 80% of their 2003 form, then BEWARE AUSTRALIA who will now be without Steve Waugh, McGrath and Shane Wrne.
This is so pathetic. This guy scores a century for himself again, after 17 innnings, and that too against Bangladesh. As always never when needed for India. For shame.

how d u think india never need century from a batsmen? If sachin & Ganguly dont score then india may be allout for 200 odd.
playing in red hot summer is always difficult as playing in australia. Are Bangladesh bowlers are so cheap for u? then why dont the other batsmen score.. what abt dravid to play in second innings, jaffer? got golden pair. Cant u stand in sun after 2 hrs in summer? give a credit to them...

I agree, pathetic to the CORE. He is no good, lost his prime. Will and can only score against Bangladesh, Kenya, Zim and may be Ireland (even their attack will be too good for him to handle).
Now he comes and talks like he did wonders to India during world cup, is there anyway we can make him stop playing. This guy want to play just becuase he can fullfil his contract agrements with big companys.

He didn't talk that he did wonders in world cup 07 and also even not in 2003 that he did exceptionally well. If he is scoring against BD, Kenya..then why other r not scoring even with them too? who is scoring consistently in indian team?
Dravid didn't scored a century from last 12 innings.. it is not far from 17. dravid is playing continuosly...so he shud be more consistent than injured sachin..

every one claims Sachin SO great then why he is scoring only against Bangladesh? What happened to his greatness, why he took 17 inn to score a Ton? Take Ponting for example, why he scores so regularly? They are almost same age. He is not a Great anymore, we don't need "OLD" avg. players in the team we have many "young" avg players waiting for chances, we need "GREAT" players. If he can't be a "Great" then leave way to others.

dont be excited with media news... Dravid from last 12 innings no century.. and u r also not sure when he score century.. some times it takes time.. some times come in successive innings.. why only Ponting for example? then why dont u blame all players comparing to Ponting.. he is having purple patch.. till then let him enjoy... If u compare everyone then nobody can play in any team. Why only compare sachin with ponting.. why dont u compre sehwag, dravid.. dravid also very bad when u compare with ponting. and dont excuse bowlers by comparing Mcgrath, warne, Tait, Bond... when u check the stats..

Ponting played 83 test - 27 centuries Sachin played 67 Tests - 17 Centuries Dravid played 79 tests - 18 Centuries
If sachin played 83 then sachin might score in between 20 - 25. is it not good enough for Indian standards? Then what u say Dravid? is he best player?

Sachin scores centuries only for birth days, death aniversaries and some special days. he donot score for any match, because they are just normal.. not so special. Why cannot he make a century on the day when it is most needed? like Bangladesh match in World cup.(Asking this shows how the standards of Indian cricket fallen down since Kapil's Time).

Blame the media forit.. if they are not crediting a team for the win... and u urself when u praise loud mouth when ur Dravid, Utthapa make u win matches.
Moreover, If you dont understand Eng.. then go to some regional site.
What Sachin meant was that the ton came at the right time for him so the selectors cannot drop him for at least 2 more years. The same goes for Ganguly also. What else can one expect from a selfish person like Sachin? He speaks true to his nature. In India if a senior scores a century it is remembered by the selectors for at least 2 years.

There is no need to drop Sachin... he is one of the best performer in india from last 3 years.. but not good performer when u talk abt later 90's of himself.
