who says this is right time
by Rajesh on May 20, 2007 10:13 AM  | Hide replies

Sachin, your ton came at the wrong time and that too against a week team like BAN.
It would have came during WC 2007, which would be the right time.
It's very early also to say right time as match result is yet to come.
This shows your selfishness, irrespective of India wining you are thinking this is a right time for your ton.

Sachin, Saurav can only score against minnows. They will get another oppurtunity to score a ton in ODIs against Ireland.

People hating Sachin and Saurav must be faliure in every walk of their life. In life one has to go thru ups and down. It is crucial how you handle failures rather than success. Sachin, please ignore your so called "critics" and concentrate on your cricket. Keep scoring runs for your team. It is ggod start for new begining. Forget the past. We are sure that you would have learnt your lessons. Hope BCCI does not find another egoistic "Phirang" as coach.

Sachin and Saurav have now reserved their place in Indian team for 2 years with their swashbuckling centuries studded with dot balls against a secondary school bowling attack. Way to go, Sachin and Dada keep it up, stick around till 2011 and mess up your record 6th flop world cup.

You sound so confident of scoring a century yourselves.
My suggestion, get a life, best the best at work and home. You cannot. So stop talking about others.
Even if Bangladesh gives you 11 times to bat, you will not reach double figures.

No Mr.Tendulkar. Your ton came at the wrong time. You should have got this ton at the World Cup against Bangla or Sri Lanka. Also why were you in such a hurry to throw away your wicket once you got your obsessive century? You guys never learn to play for your team? Is that it?

It is true.Ex-players or noted players played their role for India's triumph.Though they played for shorter period, their effort put INDIA's name on records. For example
1)Kapil Dev's innings triumph of 175 in world cup against Zimbabwe after India were 17 for 5 &his&India's only WORLD CUP triumph.
2)Sunil Gavaskar brought Benson&Hedges Cup in Australia and India's name on record.
3)Saurav Ganguly brought Test win against World No.1 Australian's in India and also brought INDIA team up to the finals in 2003 WORLD CUP.
4)Mohinder Amarnath's contribution of winning Man of the Match and Series in Wrold cup finals.
5)Srikanth's Inning in final in WORLD CUP 1983 and also in final of Benson and Hedges Cup in Australia.
6) Sachin has 17 Years,No need to prove as he has personal records of 41 ODI hundreds&36 Test Hundred but no noted triumph for INDIA's name on records.

what nonsense really! so who played in these following list of crucial games:

1. crucial 2003 WC matches - sachin 98 vs pak, 97 vs SL, a very crucial 50 vs Eng in low scoring game - India win all.
2. WI in India 2006 - final series decider - sachin 100* - India win
3. DLF cup 06 (triseries with WI and AUS) - sachin 141 - India still lose
4. DLF cup second time against WI - sachin 65, india 161 - India win
5. Pak series in pak, 2005 - sachin 100 - 1st ODI, India still lose
6. Pak series in pak, 2005 - sachin 95 - 3rd ODI, india take crucial lead and go on to win series.
7. Pak in india 2004 - sachin 123 - crucial 4th ODI, India still lose and go on to lose series in next match.
8. asia cup 2004 final - sachin 74 - highest among both teams, yet india lose.
9. pak in pak 2003 - sachin 141 - chasing 330, second ODI, yet india lose.

These are just instances from the last 3-4 years when he has played important knocks in crucial games. Yet it is not enough that he alone plays, right??

I mean whenever sachin has played, we have gone atleast to the WC semifinals. In 1999, tendulkar did not play the match against Zim because his father had expired, and we lost that match and were kicked out because of that!

What are the other cricketers in the team for really?

Thank you for taking the time to list them out.. I am sure there are many more... he is without a doubt in my mind the best One Day International Cricketer ever and a pretty decent test bat...

As for his value in the current Indian team, all the people that are listed as the young guns hardly fire... he is without a doubt the best cricketer in that team...

Ask any captain of any team in any part of the world if they want sachin in their line up... and you will get the answer "YES"... If you happen to be a captain of any team, just think about it... what do you have against this guy?

Dont you think he can blast any bowling attack out of their senses? Dont you think he can carry his bat through an innings? Dont you think he can perhaps even help with a little bowling? Also, dont you think, he is perhaps a very good slip fielder and a very good outfielder?

So, you think he plays for a personal record of a 100? Now, if this guy makes a 100, does'nt that add to the team's total? What is it that you have against that?

I am not sure if people just want to bring him down because they are not as good as him or if they just expect him to be everything every cricketer is.... some people compare him to Lara, some to Ponting, some to Gavaskar etc., but he obiously cannot and will not be as good as every one of them on every single day. The important thing is, that he can better than all of them, on his day.

So, until we can find another guy like him, with the exceptional ability that makes captains always pick him, we should just be grateful he continues to play despite all the insults.

Raja Ram,

India were kicked out at quarterfinal stages because they failed to get the points from the Zimbabwe match. That zimbabwe match (where schin dint play and we lost) was the reason why we got kicked out, just like the bangladesh match was the reason we got kicked out in this WC, even though SL match was the point at which we got kicked out.

Do your research before criticizing.

What good work? He has messed up 5 world cups and you are still thinking that he has done good work.

He showed his ass's crack in the Sri Lanka match, that's what the master plaster can do in crucial matches. Of course, he is at his best against teams like Bermuda, Holland, Kenya and in no pressure Bangladesh series.

Hurry to get back to AC pavilion
by India on May 20, 2007 07:34 AM  | Hide replies

Many fans were saying both Sachin and Ganguly would get 200 each. But as usual they both seemed to be in a great hurry to get out once they got 100. It is all about individual numbers game for them and nothing about playing for the team. This kind of attitude will cost big against teams like Australia and others. With a team like Bangla it does not matter much if they throw their wickets once they score a century.
