Shakil might be !@#$%% for his comment

...when Indian team is coming to terms with the disappointment of world cup, again he has raised this issue. So I guess, Test series will also be good. Now as per India winning test series outside sub-continent, West Indies as recently as possible. After that we did not play that many test series. How many teams have won one test in Australia? None. India did that. How many lived to tell the tale another day that they have stopped Oz on their own backyard? Indians. How many of the visiting sub-continent team won a test in SA? SL? No Pakistan yes but long back, recently? Only India. We are not going to sit back and relax coz the blood has been just tasted and man eaters have devoured Bangladeshi lions also. Its just a matter of time because shakil makes a shakeela out of himself.....

A win in Australia happened because Australia overhyped themselves like what West Indies did against India in 1983 WC. It happens that when the opposite flops India wins and not exactly because India plays to win.

c'mon man that was one of the best test matches ever played. it is one of those rare moments were the entire team fired all guns - batsmen and the bowlers. after that series the team was regarded as the best test side in the world to even challenge the mighty aussies and the fact that it happened outside the sub-continent and not on the placid tracks "specially" prepared by BCCI is an impressive thing

yup.....dats true man....its just that the Indian fan expects the team2 win every match...

India has done well, just that it has also failed many a time does not mean it has never performed...

Who is Shakil Kasem?
by India on May 17, 2007 10:07 AM  | Hide replies

Who is Shakil Kasem? Never heard of him. He said India is the most overated and overhyped team, which is true. The joke was one minnow calling the other, like the pot calling the kettle.

All said and done, there was no need for Ravi Shastri to make such audacious comments that he will not take any prisoners. Let us talke less and show more in our performance. Let performance talk.

Ignore
by Ravi chandran on May 17, 2007 09:55 AM

Let's ignore the comments of someone who could not even enter a minnows team.
Only 3 have scored 6 sixes in an over. Ravi Shastri is one of them. He and Sobers did so in I class matches. Recently Gibbs did it in a WC ODI.

True no test series victory outside the subcontinent in a 1100 million cricket crazy nation..Shakil is very correct, the palying 11 do not represent the best in India they are here because of dirty poltics in Indian Cricket. If selection is done properly they will never be even in Ranji trophy circket.
India will receive such comments as long as BCCI send's the team. BCCI should be banned from representing India and spoiling India's image.

merey bhai...if u dont have any cricketing mind or cricketing memory then its not necessary that we comment every now and then...
fools like you create confusion and misbeliefs...we won the test series in WI just last year...we won our first test match in SA recently...we came close to series win..only let down by dravid's decision on playing munaf patel in final test...we also drew the test series against aus last time we were there...get ur facts updated man...otherwise its not necessary to blabber every now and then...
god bless you

joshi saab, I know one of ur uncles is in BCCI promoting all the incapable stupid players to Indian team.

U know how it feels, when you are the best player around and even not selected to group games, which are played before Ranji just because of dirty politics.

What is true? Is it the fact that he is frustrated or the article ! If it is the latter then he is trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. I think he should let his team's performance do the talking rather than his pen. If the Bangladesh team has truly arrived then they have to show consistency.

I would just say Rahul Dravid's comment as answer..When i turn back the history books of cricket..i don't find this man contributing anything to cricket and hence would like to ignore all his foolish comments..
