Gentleman, U must b a very young person otherwise u wd hv known the mettle of Chandu Borde and wd not hv used such words for him. Chandu Borde was the pride of India cricket during his time. He and salim Durrani were the ones who gave India their first series win against England. And it was only typical Indian politics that gave captaincy to Pataudi, ahead of Poly Umrigar and Borde which led to their disillusionment (and immediate retirement of Umrigar after scores of 172 N.O. followed by three consecutive over 50 scores against the marauding West Indies in their own land). Many will recall that under Pataudi Borde, whose leg spin googly bowling had mesmerised Ted Dexter's men, was never asked to bowl. On being asked Pataudi's cryptic remark was "He has a bad shoulder. He can not bowl". I am absolutely certain that Chandu Borde is one person who can detoxify team India after the poisonous reign of Greg Chappel. India could not hv found a better manager/coach at this point of time.

Mr. Ashish Kumar, You are bang on! People tend to know the younger generation players who has not commitment nor do they have pride in playing for India. Except a few in the current team. They are all behind the glamour and money which attracts them. I think it is wasted effort telling all these young fans about the older players heroic.

Dear Saurav, These old players are not 'my players'. There is continuity in cricket just as there is continuity in life. To-day's players have evolved out of what the earlier generations hv done. No one wants to belittle Sachin or Ganguly. But ask them, u will find they will invariably show deference to these oldies from whom they hv learnt their cricket. Chandu Borde belongs to the generation who has faced likes of Ray Gilchrist and Wes Hall without helmet and chest pad, apart from various other types of protective gears. Please give credit where it is due. In today's poisoned atmosphere it is only such dedicated cricketers who can breathe health into Indian cricket. On hearing Borde's name I felt assured that this great Indian team which had become runner up in the WC '03 will regain those heights. That is because such a person can snub mindless ambition and conspiracy with the authority of an elder brother/uncle.

i agree. when u talk about players playing only for money, we use as a reference players who played for pride. Well, you dont get em more proud and passionate than Borde, or half as good. Why, then, are u guys slinging mud at him? Is it that there is too much of the good earth going around?

Why don't BCCI appoint SONIA GHANDI as Indian Team Coach. She is foreign for sure and and she knows how to teach top level Indians good lessons. It's worth a try.

Bhala, if u read the whole interview(supposing u can read) u'll find that his words were taken out of context. He merely said that nobody's really given him a brief yet and therefore he doesnt know at this point in time the specifics of what's expected. How can you rubbish him for that?
You see how gentle man got corrupted by enter of politicians .the main person is sharad pawar. also like in movies where it is difficult to teach naughty children , then our hero enters and train them.... amitabh , like wise our cricket heros( childeren ) are naughty ... BCCI is searching for master who can bring them to order.

Dude di you read the newsweek report in 2005 that said if they make a separate country out of South India and Gujarat, it'll have the world's 13th highest GDP and would rank in the 30 richest nations. I guess literacy is beyond you, so kindly stop with the hate mongering. We can manage very well thank you , and btw, the reason why there was such a bombay bias in the past was simple. They were the best. As a south indian i accept it. So dont malign an entire region just bcoz some south indian morons( yes we have them here too) talk tripe. Thanx.
