When we were young we used to see Chandu batting. We used to shout 'Chandu chhakka mar de'. When he batted badly, we used to shout,'Chandu bat chorde'. He was an emmensely talented player, who could be depended upon like , dravid, tendulkar and sourav.I think the Board has selected the right man because he has the experience and was also a performer.

Sir, This is almost Nani's job. Keep the kids clean and happy. Some of the kids are difficult and demanding. All the best. Some of them will take there wives on Enland tour. So you will have more kids to attend.

Dear Borde,
Do not worry. No body in the world will expect much from you at your age of sweet seventy three. Our BCCI board know our Heros( zeros) of criket has got so much ego to hear any Managers. So they want an in active Manager who has been paid for his past service. So enjoy if you can.

Keep it coming? Rib tickling? I don't see what is so funny here. True, he is not fit to be a manger but wishing him death is unbecoming.

Hey you have got ur facts on this partially wrong. Gavaskar is not responsible for all this. In fact he was the only guy who opposed the candidature of Ford, who finally ditched the Indian board. Well, who opposed the appointment of Dav Whatmore is a matter to be investigated. Here may be Gavaskar is the culprit.

whither Tiwari?
by rajesh r on Jun 14, 2007 12:33 PM  | Hide replies

ok, in all the sound and noise, we seem to have gloosed over the fact that Manoj Tiwari has been 'dropped' according to the press releases. What rubbish? How can u drop a guy who never played a match? How can someone who was considered the future of indian cricket become a forgotten past in one month?

Calm down:-) Manoj is on the injured list. In fact, he went to England recently for surgery as if there is no medical expertise in India. However, that is another point.

Team India Cricket coach
by Balakrishnan Kanathil on Jun 14, 2007 12:24 PM  | Hide replies

BCCI should have appointed Sandip Patil as coach cum Manager of the Indian team for the forthcoming tour of Ireland and England. He has provdn his mettle as coach while he was in-charge of the Kenyan National team. Chandu Borde is a great personality but how much can he give to the team he is beyond 72 years of age. Any way best wishes to Mr. Borde and the Indian team.
