Shan prabakaran
regarding appointment of coach
by Shan prabakaran on Jun 14, 2007 08:17 AM  | Hide replies

I would suggest that the international coaches be appointed at the zonal level for
under 18 . This players need to be moulded and whatever the shortcomings they have ,need to be corrected at this age itself . Appointing a coach for the senior level is a criminal waste because at this level you cannot make any corrections to the player even if he, tries to make he will not be able to adopt . Also,Given the coach vs players controvesy it is better to invest in the young players .

Dear Shan,

Good Idea. BCCI can think about this. Moulding should happen at young age.

Regards

Anantha

What a sentence to pick as headline!
by TongInChic on Jun 14, 2007 07:59 AM  | Hide replies

This is not mature journalism...more in the line of sensationalism. Indians are in the habit of trashing everything that is Indian, except when Republic Day and Independence days are approaching.
May be an Indian coach is not such a bad experiment. Perhaps he will be better than a coach working for a small county and not doing too well there. The Indian team require mental coaches to support the cricketing coach. Which cricketer in the world (except perhaps Azhar and Sunny) have to capability to teach Sachin how to hit an on drive?
Chandu plus mental coach plus physio should be enough.

Coach cannot do anything with the current senior cricketers. Its better for BCCI not to appoint a coach. Atleast they could save some money.

" Apart from managing the side, I really do not know what exactly is expected of me. I will have to discuss with the BCCI officials as well as the team members. But I am an experienced player and have not done badly as an administrator either in the past."

Thats what he said....do not distort his statements and play with the sentiments of the readers.

I completely agree with you Mat. Not only rediff, but also other News sites do same kind of tricks. We, as readers, should read the same properly and not jump into conclusions just by reading the headlines.

i agree with u guys, but lets be generous to some readers who've poured vitriol on Borde going by the headline. Maybe literacy is an issue and they can only read headl;ines. P'haps thats why Rediff writes such H/ls

Good Show BCCI
by siva kumar on Jun 14, 2007 07:57 AM

Hi Cricket Lovers... You know 11 fo ols are playing & 110000 Fo ols are watching... Its true.. All players who let India Down are back. They can involve in advertisements.. Good show BCCI No harsh action against the playes who let India down. If you all are a real patriots, leave off watching Team India Playing.. All players are behind money. Every match is fixed... If India Lose, Players gain money in differnt ways (Gambling)... See our team has very good players and when they dont play they still in the team.. Every companies should stop sponsering them.. No channels should broadcast cricket. BCCI is headed by a politician so Cricket is now a pure political game. In future Saruv, Dravid,Sachin will be one day will nominate themself for Presidentailcandidature (ex: N.S.Sidhu)... What they have done to our country. They let our country down in cricket then how you expect them in politics. People think dont be F__king A__ H___S.. Look after your life. NOt Cricket

Computer Knowledge

In todays world, in order to coach a international cricket team one should have the knowledge of computers. Does Mr. Border know how to operate one? Can anyone tell me.

Tendulkar was struggling to get runs against bangaladesh. Virender sewag could have been accommodated in one dayer. Though failing often, he is the match winner. All others can contribute but VS can single handedly demolish the opposition.

Ajit Agarkar is again given a chanace. Now an old man is inserted as a manager cum coach. BCCI is not competent enough to anticipate, plan and execute. It is very sad that the indian team goes on important and challenging tours without a renowned and result-oriented coach. What is the use of having crores in BCCI kitty?

Don't u think it is cheap to disgrace the person who is helping the team when everybody is either scared or playing duplicate games ???
Rediff please grow up, he is an old man...and even at this age he is ready to give 100% for his country......don't put such a title to a composed interview...it creates more panic and u know that.
He atleast came up to support the team, we never faced such crisis ever before and look how everybody is protecting themselves!!! at least this 72 years old fellow dared to come forward...........

If you care so much about senior citizens, why not appoint AB Vajpayee as Indian coach. Borde himself said that he does'nt know what is expected of him. In such a case, would he do a good job when its not clear to him what the job is.

If he is a true professional and someone who loves Indian cricket, he should either ask for his job description from BCCI or not accept this position

Ur right. I only wish more people read between the lines. I think rediff should take note of the protests from the decenter section of its readres and stop libellious headlines.
