Our bowlers r going to face hell lot of trouble against him. Even Aus found him tough to dismiss. He scored heavily in Ashes. Dismissing him twice in every test match is a big ask for our pathetic bowlers

Kevin is a gooder hiter but is no problammaker to Indis team becose meny meny top player like lara, Inzy, Gibs,Stiv etc is underperforming it is. I belive it is that Kevin 100 parcent no danger it is. Thank you.

Do u think that our 4 bowlers can dismiss England twice? we should go with 5 bowlers...Our bowling is damn Pathetic...even English Lions thrashed them...tailenders are scoring 100's against us....tailenders always trouble us...
Karthick had a good game in the first game of the tour. Just when there are talks of Dhoni to be rested in favor of a real batsman, Dhoni had a fantastic innings here. Having failed in the first innings, looks like Karthick was inspired by that knock and came with little cameo here on the second innings. Way to go Karthick and Dhoni.

Yes, I agree with Gilchrist. Dhoni for ODIs and Karthik for tests. Karthik is a better keeper than Dhoni. Dhoni is not upto the mark with his golve work in tests. A dropped catch in tests can be very crucial. Karthik very rarely misses a chance. In tests, when wickets tumble, Karthik can hold an end, whereas I doubt whether Dhoni can do that considering his aggressive nature of batting. Moreover, in England, the ball moves a bit to which Dhoni is vulnerable. My ideal team for the 1st team in batting order would be as under.

Deer friend, I appreciate ur cricketing knowledge but remind that bowler hunt in pair.Art is that if one bowler is excellant and another is not as like partner then fair chance of out on the bowling of simple bowler. On the fact of above true u select team with 5 bowler 1. Kumble 2 Pius Chawla 3 Zahir 4 Agarkar5 R.P singh. If open the ining in one d match then wh not in test. Therefore batting order will as 1 Ganguli,2 Karthik 3. Sachin 4. Dravid 5.uuwraj or Laxman 6. Dhoni. U will be world champion with this combination.

I think both shd be picked...as Karthik is playing as a bats man and he is a best fielder too... Dhoni will be playing as a bats man as well as wicket keeper. Since both of them are playing well,so both shd be picked. If any of them will continue bad performance then,board can consider accordingly... But for the time being both shd play in one day as well as in test...
We may have a strong batting line up on paper. But we need 5 good bowlers who can claim 20 wickets to win a test match. In the present team in England we dont have bowlers who can take 20 wickets. Also we are gambling by going with 7 batsmen. I think for the first test India should play extra bowler to atleast compete with England. Winning is a distant dream!!

Pace bowlers are like sprinters. They break down often. But they can do early damage and bundle tail enders more.
Unfortunately we think that we are developing new one he breaks down and to keep his place in team he reduces his pace.
What I feel is pace bowler who bowls at speed of more than 140 knph average should be given more renumeration. If he breaks down he has good balance to look after his family. In india if you are unsuccessful in cricket you are pauper. No real means of earnings.
That is one of the reason young ones take batting than bowling as their cricketing career. Rarely pace bowlers have career more than 5 to 6 years. Then they turn in to medium pacers..
by somebody in india there are 4 bowlers who can bowl at 140 ,but they are out of the team.they are munaf,vrv,asis nehra and that kashmiri bowler abid nabi.these four can form a better bowling attack than zaheer,sreesanth,irfan,rp,bose,ishant.

What was Karthik bowling? Off/Leg spinners? and more impoartantly, why Karthik? trying to make sure that the management has an answer when someone asks why play 2-wicket keepers? One wonders.

Well he bats better and most importantly with sense than many of the super stars in the team that is why he is needed. The only format of cricket where India's win than loses is 20/20 and that lone victory in the lone 20/20 game was due to him. He has helped India win atleast 2-3 onedayers by batting at no 6 sensibly and contributed in india's test victory in SA but batting resolutely against SA pacers. I think a better question could have been why Jaffer is carried around inspite of his repeated failures. The fact is he clicks once every 10 innings and he is not of Shewag's calibre to frighten the bowlers when he clicks..

Kartik is ...OVERATED.he hasnt played any match winning knock yet.He has supported well and that means he contributed towards a win.
Until kartik plays a match wining knock and win something on his own....he should not take his place for granted. Against england---i suspect he will even make a 50...

i guess you are not a regular viewer of indian cricket.karthick is a new comer and he as won a 20 20 ,a one day against W.I,ODI against bangla,combined well with yuvraj to win the second ODI of the FUTURE CUP.what more do you need from him.you please watch the test series against england.karthick will surely play well.i don't know why you are targetting karthick.do you want any of your state cricketer to get a chance ????????

Well i guess You are right my friend. Kartik sof ar has played 19 matches. highlight of his career are vs Bangladesh 58 vs West indies 63 vs south africa 32
his overall average is 26.50
the point is he may be good or just average.But so far we havent seen him play a major inining against a quality opposition.
Yuvraj made his mark on debut against australia with that 84 that u mention.I saw that knock and it was clear yuvraj was here to stay.
Dhoni made 183 when he was a new comer.
Its correct to call Kartik overrated as he hasnt done anything exceptional.

Otherwise why cant we have pathan in place of kartik in the ODI team.will give a bowling option. There is no player in my state who i want inplace of kartik.

Hi, then you have alot of choices for replacement. Do not demotivate an upcoming cricketer. Pathan is recovering from an injury and is undergoing technical changes to a make a come back.No doubt he deserves a chance?

Match winning knock is.... Yuvraj 84...against australia...championstrophy. Yuvraj & Kaif Natwest final. Dhoni 183 against Pakistan in India.
I dont remember a single knock by Kartik where India won a game as a result of Kartik being Batting's main stay and others supported him. Kartik may have scored a few 20,30-50 but not a inning that can change the game in India's favour

Nonsense. Karthik is one player who plays and performs when the rest of the guys r in perils, he tunes his game as per the needs fo the team. He is one of the best team mans around. Pls do not write such things as the same could be only yr opinion and not at all true. . . He has taken to fielding like anyother player, remember he is a wk and does not have a background for fielding. . .I feel he is not at all OVERRATED like u say. He is a very very useful player in the middle overs . . .If u lack knowledge, pls restrain yrself from making such statements. Thanks a lot . . .
