Sachin and Dravid would only like to aplay aginst Bangladesh and Ireland. If they really wanna give oppotuniyies to youngsters they should have given way for the games against Bang and Ireland. THey know its a tough job ahead in 20-20, and they do not have the calibre and the killer instinct. They want to make money by playing and ofcourse scoring in a six match tour agains WI, Eng. They knew if they again dont perform their popularity will go down even more than the world cup and thats why this is a calculated move. Just Imagine some one opting out of a world cup, they are not playing for pride. If they had retired I would have appreciated for they giving the opportunity to young blood but this is pure selfish act

Till date Sachin has been the finest cricketer India has produced & guys like Satish who don't know abc about cricket are criticizing him.Look at the Sachin has won for India.He has done India proud.So Mr.Satish first look at urself wat u r & then comment on others

Till date people like you were after the senior trio and wanted them to retire. Now when the seniors have opted out of the tournament, they are accusing them of being selfish. Why do you people attribute wrong motives for what the seniors have done with good intentions? May be you are disappointed because you have lost the opportunity to criticise the seniors and will not have much to write about as rediff message board contains mostly criticisms about these three players. Don't compare 20-20 tournament to regular WC.We don't know how popular this 20-20 will be and don't write crap like the trio don't calibre. Do you know thw meaning of the word?
Whether the absence of these 3 seniors in the Indian team will have any effect on India's fortunes in the 20-20 tournament is a different matter. But these three players are favourites among the Rediff forumers to train their guns on! Their absence will deprive rediff forumers of their favorite cannon fodder! Which players will take their position?

It is really horrible to see ppl's comments here.. First they say that Sachin Sourav and Rahul should retire and when they opt out to give chances to the youngsters everyone calls them selfish.. I guess u cannot please everybody.All r only good critics.. Everybody can just criticise since they cannot do anything good with their lives and crticise ppl who do have some guts to do something.. Pathetic..

sachin, saurav and rahul were 100% sure that they will be flop in 20-20, and they know the result also after that, so simply to avoid those situation and to be safe themself for future ,they forbid to be in team. this is their attitude.

my dear friend can u name one single indian player in the last 15 years who have played consistently like Sachin........if u can authoritatively tell sachin is a flop.atlast Sachin have started playing for himself realising that there is no point in playing for the country having such crazy people who still think that cricket is a oneman show.
It's a shrewd move from Dravid, Tendulkar & Sourav. They realize that they do not fit into 20-20 format because of lack of fitness and mediocre fielding. So it is better to opt-out rather than not getting selected.

it's ok. but what i think if Tendulkar might have included in the list, that would more advantages for indian team.Let's see. give a chance to the youngsters how will they perform?
instead of going ahead and winning the 20-20 wc,the senior players are backing out and missing an opportunity for reconciling their wounds of the world cup held in west indies.. this is disgusting...

You are right.They have to retire,but let them decide..And all this Young-blood hoopla is a major flop.Talent sees no age.If youngsters could win you matches,we wouldnt have had Sachin as man of the series and Yuvaraj(not so young) man of the match in the last series.

blind supporters everywhere r hurdle in success and they always want their dummy god to shine every time. Indian cricket will never win a WC unless and until we stop PERSONAL WORSHIp and think a national victory by shunning this biased thinking.
