Hi This is a total disgust that we being Indians are unable to watch the match being played in our own country and our country's public broadcaster is strugling to get the telecast feed...i think we as nation are not going beyond but we have gone back to the days of slavery..i think we were never freed we were slaves and will remain slaves.....forever
Nimbus or any other Co., Was it not expected by them that Prasar Bharthi will create problems during India Matches citing patriotism. I think both of them are taking the public for a ride.
What was the I&B Dept.& BCCI doing then? They very well know this problem will crop up.
Scheduling of Cricket matches doesnt happen over night. There will be a bidding for telecast rights. If Indian government thinks that Indians should see each and every cricket match played on indian soil then they should pressuring the prasarabharati or what ever it is.. to go for the bidding. I am sure that the private channel are of no match for prasarabharati if it is really going for the bid for the sake of indians to view the cricket. Snatching the telecast rights from someone who paid huge amount to BCCi by saying that Cricket is in national intrest. They PEOPLE IN HIGH POSITIONS SHOULD STOP SLEEPING IN THE DAY TIME :-)

I do agree that Nimbus paid lot of money to BCCI. But, because of that they can't charge Rs 60 per connection and deprive the nation from watching the match. Cricket is for entertaintment and it is not business for BCCI. DD should get the feed and BCCI should have that clause in the contract to Nimbus.
NIMBUS is spoiling fun for the entire country by being so greedy. Ofcourse there is big money in cricket, but if general public is not watching the matches then they won't be able to make big money in future. Ignore the public, you will be the looser at the end of the day.

I do agree. Nimbus will bow to Indian public. If people don't watch, they don't get any advertisements. They should not try to monopolize the telecast
Sandeep Kulshrestha ... is right.... WHY NOT WE INDIANS SHOW OUR UNITY TO GET OUR RIGHTS BACK.. LETS BOYCOT THE MATCH AND WITH NO TICKETS SOLD OR ALL NOT WATCHING THE SHOW.. THEY WILL KNOW WHAT PUBLIC MEANS.. NO ONE CAN JUST SWINDLE MONEY LIKE THIS..
GOOD THINKING SANDEEP.. THOUGH A CRICKET LOVER - I AM WITH YOU... HOW ABOUT OTHERS ?!! WHAT IS THAT YOU ARE ALL WAITING FOR ?

If wishes were horses, any one could ride!! Its a great thought but not practical. Its like say, we know politicians are corrupt so vote for NRN or Kalam for PM position!! Good thoughts but it doesn't work that way. Negotiation and spirit of the game has to strike a balance somewhere such that no one loses in the end. Love - Sneha Dua

This is the problem with us. We just dont have faith in ourself want to give justification for our non performance. THE BOYCOTs has been done successfully in countries like US. It is practical. Way back have u ever thought of getting information from Government? now it is possible thru RTI. but we need to take pains to deliver and if we cant then we also loose our right of complaining. Bcoz we r responsible for this mess.
The BCCI is earning millions from the Indian People. It is only thru indian viewers that made it the RICHEST body of cricket in the WORLD. The BCCI is throwing those millions to the cricketers who rarely perform. Now the viewers (INDIAN) will have to pay again to NEO or NIMBUS for seeing the match live thus making again millions for others.
Can't we Indians have the power to say NO to one single match be it on ground or direct telecast. The BCCI, NIMBUS or Cricket India will come on their knees to the Indian Public just by bycotting one match.
RE:Why cant we ban the telecast
by Ramdas Nayak on Jan 23, 2007 04:15 PM
Law should be passed to ban bidding of telecast rights by BCCI for money. The money earned from the people should be invested in a Free cricket channel to telecast all matches by cable operators and also Prasar Bharathi should also be allowed to share the feed free. Let Indian Law Courts interfere in this unholy fight.
The IB Minister and his team was clearly caught napping. They should have been prepared months back. Both the IB Ministry and the BCCI should be held responsible for depriving millions of viewers from watching a great match. Both Priya Das Munshi and Sharad Pawar should be taken to task.
This is one way how the indians are ashamed by foreign companies....I think that 7 min delay will clearly divide the society in two parts Rich and poor...this must not be accepted by high court,. this is ridiculous and mases must raise their voice against this......
As we know BCCI is independent body or board to control the Cricket in India, but if Broadcasting right is concern why Govt didnt make a rule that BCCI have to share or give his all rights to only Prasar Bharati, why everyone looking towards Money lets gove has to pass a rule and prasar bharati will just broadcast any events in India. its alright board is working for develop cricket in India and than why the Govt didnt come to a solution that whatever will be revenue from broadcasting they both can share in 50: 50 ratio to stop this.
If Govt can make rules for Broadcasters than why not for make it compulsary for BCCI.its all just govt. dont want to be take a proper and long time step to safeguard interest of public. or the other option allow BCCI to go for a free to air channel.
