RE:Solution to the issue

What you are saying is very fair propositions but, our DD wants it with its own muscle power. Why behave fare when you can get it by unfair means.
One side being a cricket lovers we can feel ahppy that most of us will be able to watch the saturday's match live. But on other side, it is injustice to Nimbus who has procured the telecast rights for such a big amount and now forcefully have to share the live feed with the DD, which is a looser in bid. Here one more point is few days back when this issue was in serious discussion in news channels and all, our IB minister said, BCCI doesn't have any right to sell the rights for the matches and only DD will have to broadcast all the major sports event. If it is really so why the same ministry is mum when BCCI has called for Bidding for telecast rights and why they allowed DD to participate in the Bidding when bydefault they only have to telecast?? This is purely politics.
It is pure high handedness of Govt Of India on issuing ordinance to make it compulsory for pvt broadcatster to share the live coverage with Doordarshan. Today everything in cricket is business. So Doordarshen should negotiate with pvt channels to serve its viewers. The incompetence of Doordarshen is clearly visible in the promulgation of ordinance. Sudhakar
Atlast there has been an ordinance to share live feed, thanks for that, Many of the crucial away series i had missed over 12 years time. We had the same passion to watch even at that time, no one raising issues. But its never too late. The thing is why the INDIAN company who owned the rights has to suffer (Nimbus), there was ten sports, sony, espnstar, where no one raised any issues, when an Indian company had got the rights, even the national broadcaster wants profit out of that. Being a National broadcaster, it should act professionally, it should invest money and try to earn back which can make the broadcaster rich as well as the public is happy, no one will ever interfere once there is an ordinance that all indian cricket rights will go only to the national broadcaster. After all we are one billion people, and amongst the richest. I am very sorry for NIMBUS.
I think BCCI is the sole governing body to decide to whom to give telecast rights. If BCCI has decided to give it to Nimbus, it is not just for the sake of earning money. Nimbus and other private telecast companies like ESPN/STAR are highly reputed and prooven. If doordarshan does not have proper eqipments and infrastructure then how can BCCI have confidence of giving telecast rights. Any idian cricket fan can easily identify the differrence in quality of live matches in ESPN/STAR v/s Doordarshan.

Absolutelly correct.Matches shown in B,desh,Lanka and pak have much better quality than Doordarshan.Gov.is showning their Muschale to Brodcasters in name of National Interest is nothing but dectator rule.

I totally agree with Mr. Harshad's view. In Marathi there is one saying "Aaitya bilawar Nagoba" (ghar bananeke liye mehanat kise aur n eke aur%u2026%u2026) is what you say about DD & the GoI. This is purely "Dadagiri" of the bureaucrats & the DD. Nimbus or other private players are in the business & not for charity.
Please stop harassment to pvt broadcasters like this.. they've paid huge money and would want returns obviously.. DD, it appears that cant fight straight battle, and resorts to back door entries like this...
All matches are over. Only for last match it is decided to telecast live on DD. Is this not a tamasha. One match will not make any difference. We are ready to see the telecast 7 min late. Any how all news channels are showing live scores at the bottom.
