Worst Team
by danny on Feb 12, 2007 12:57 AM  | Hide replies

Our team is totally hopeless..And it need some major shakeup..First of all , just drop Shewag for ever...He does not deserve to be in playing 11..Replace Dravid with Ganguly..Dravid should go back and engage himself in Suryanamaskar.
Make Sachin 12 th player...
More shakeups, i will explaing after my meeting with stupid selectors..

We need to have qualifier matches to get India play with big guns like Australia, South Africa, NZ, WI, England Etc.. When I say qualifier, I mean play with - holland, Kenya, USA, & other countries and see if we win over them. If yes, then India should be allowed to play World class International Cricket! Its time our Dumb Dimwits understand that the whole nation .. millions & millions of cricket fans are watching 11 Jack A**'s lose a game WON !!!

Indian cricket team is the only team in the world who loves to gift its winning match to other teams.Dinesh kartick is a good player but not a good finisher. One day cricket needs players who can win matches for his teams irrespect of his record in any form of cricket. What Dhoni and kartcik did today was absolutely heart breaking.PLEASE PLEASE call back YUVRAJ and KAIF immediately.atleat we know that they are good finishers of the game.Remember NATWEST Finals. If we want to win the world cup then its high time we should stop experimenting with new players and give the job back to the people who has won us many matches in the past.

dravid should think and talk
by ramani gl on Feb 12, 2007 12:22 AM  | Hide replies

Taking Karthinks fall is a turning point, its rubbish statement. Karthik is not a finisher, sehwag or Dhini are finishers. He would have sent Karthik in place of sehwag and sehwag in place of Karthik. Sehwag is a hitter and not a rotator, if u want sehwag in middle-order, then sehwag should come in lower-middle order say No 6 or 7 and never at No 5.

Selectors please remove Sehwag, are you listiling Mr vegsarkar, stick to your implus, otherwise Even God will not help India reaching Semifinal in WC.

when was Sehwag a finisher? the turning point means the game changed after Karthik's Dimissal. He doesn't blame Karthik for it.

Tendulkar is responsible
by Ojha on Feb 12, 2007 12:07 AM  | Hide replies

I would say Tendulkar is the one responsible for todays loss. He was looking frustration after reaching 50, require rate was less than 4 per over, so many wickets was in hand why was he giving up, he can as well stay some more time.

I seriously think where the 6th down batsman is of the level of Harbhajan, that team is in very serious trouble any day. Think what would happen if India starts 50/4.

I totally agree with Ojha. Tendulkar and Ganguly were desperate to get boundaries at the 20th over mark. They could have sensibily batted for another 10 overs just rotating the strike and gone for the kill after that.

Tendulkar and Ganguly are ofcourse great players but they showed their immaturity while chasing. They should have maintained their cool. Their departure raised panic in the entire team.

I would say Dinesh Karthik and Dhoni are responsible not Tendulkar...

Tendulkar has done his job. isit he?

Dhoni and karthik would have taken responsibility and go though the target accouding to paln. This is what they failed to do. How can tendulkar is responsible??

Tumhare jaise logo ko to poori team me sirf sachin hi dikhta hai kya be? sachin ne to fir bhi 54 banaye, ganguly 62 aur dhoni 48.... baaki sab kya JHAK maar rahe the? I think team me 11 players hote hain, tumhe baaki nahi dikhte kya? Ab sachin akele bana leta kya 258? Are grow up yaar, sachin k alawa baaki bhi hai team me jo hamesha humari naiyya duba dete hain, why blame sachin always.... Hadd hai yaar...

India looses its own game
by N Venugopal on Feb 11, 2007 11:59 PM

Time and again as a follower of cricket from 1978 onwards, There is no doubt that I rejoice when India wins and desperate when it looses the game. All said and done In my personal openion you required no other team to defeat India, No other team to Loose to Inda , INDIA does and Indians do. We loose very meekly by our boys attitude not by dearth of talent. when one need to hit ball they simply defend , when one need to defend they simple Hit as they are catcing their spaceship journey. Poor mentality Whole India needs ick in their A**. I suggest to announce the team 15 for world cup atleat the paper tigers came live as puppies...

India's best 11 - No chance of winning world cup
by Devinder Chandrawat on Feb 11, 2007 11:55 PM

We guys discussed the best possible combination that India can put in the one day team and luckily the same composition was put into this match. Still we lost and that too in the home crowd means that we don't have any chance to win the WC. I am sure that we can't beat the teams: Australia, South Africa, Srilanka, New zealand, Pakistan. Now WI and England has also improved a lot. Perhaps we can win against Bangladesh, Zimbawe etc. If we start losing to them too then be sure, the state of indian cricke will become like that of our hockey team...

India's Loss more
by on Feb 11, 2007 11:30 PM  | Hide replies

I would consider this to be a more of India's loss than Sri Lanka's victory. India played some good cricket in early parts of both the innings. However, during Sri Lanka's batting we lost the advantage by not having a third good seam bowler and during India's batting we lost the advantage due to our non existant tail. To be true I dont really remember instances of India's tail wagging when its really crucial. They certainly play some shots and get runs when top order has performed miserably but in a close encounter I dont remember India's tail helping team's cause in this decade.
Another thing which is being pointed out is SL's tight fielding and good pressure applied by Sri Lanka. Then I would like to remind Dravid & his co that this is international cricket and everybody will apply the same pressure. So does that mean that we should accept defeat whenever pressure is applied by other team. Also India's fielding is defintely not upto International standards. Yestersay, 3 international matches were going on simultaneously and if somebody was wathcing those matches then the first thing that would come to mind was India is the fist of all seix team in terms of fielding. Very casual, very very callous. Misfields are part of daily routine and catches come and go easily. Nobody looks annoyed or wants to put that extra...and hitting the stumps is something which is not desired due to whatever reasons.
So India buckle up and get ready to face the music at WC... or if we wanna win the WC we need our rich cricket board to help this team with the help of betting nexus and purchase the WC. I am sure Team India's sponsers - Pepsi, Hero Honda, Nike etc will be more than happy to dish out the amount for this

India lost the golden chance.

I was not expecting India to win the series again SL. as SL is in good form & have right combination.
But after seing 4 wickets down in morning and VAAS and Murli not on tour, I start dreaming about a series win. But Dravid's poor judgments missed the golden chance.

Now SL can win this series easily.
