I just wonder whether the Aussies are letting saurav play in the middle and score his usual 40 runs cos if he plays matches he will give about 25 runs on his own in every test and who knows about run outs. Mind you if they wanted they could have set him up any time with a bouncer and a follow yorker through Brett Lee. It always worked for other teams with a strong bowling line up. Kumble go for broke get sehwag to open, may loose then dont expect to win the way Dravid of class 1999 is batting. Sit Yuvraj cos he needs a reality check, he should be fine once he is rested and come back to his elements
Dravid has been a splendid bat in the past !! i just hope that this lean patch ends here at the first test match !! his potential is definetely is at par with the australian bowling !! one of the major requirements for India to be triumphant is to see him scoring runs !!

Sudhindu Aussies are not fools. If they plot Ganguly failure. Then they will loose benefits of gifted run outs. Runs gifted by relax fielding 10-20 extra runs gift. Then dropped catches. also if somebody better runner between wickets is chosen then 20-30 runs extra will go to opponents. Who wlii loose these benefits by plotting Ganguly out.

Ha ha...well said! It is beneficial to Australia that Ganguly is in team for the reasons you mentioned.

you seem to be following too much of "aaj tak" reports... or have never gone past the "gali cricket"....
mate - wicket is a wicket...
If ganguly and sachin are playing, then wether that be Oz or be Bangaldesh, everyone knows its a dangerous Left/Right combination...if they make a partnership they'd easily add hundred runs to team score..
Sehwag, Kartick (w) Dravid,Tendulkar,Ganguly,Laxman,Yuvraj Kumble,Pathan,RP,Zaheer This means Karthick can keep and open. Bowling wise we have variety Sehwag,Tendulkar,Ganguly and Yuvraj Sehwag averages 50 in tests plus he has a good record in aus going back by the last series and he can score runs quickly

It is worth trying for the second test. If it does not work, bring back Jaffar at the expense of non-producing batsman amongst Dravid, Yuvi, Sehwag. If Karthik fails, bring back Dhoni. Such rotation is expected to create an incentive/reward scheme amongst the players.

RP Singh took 4 wickets dude! Zaheer is back to India due to his injury....Dont act like dodo
We need some scientific and innovative thinking about how to beat Australia. Maybe we should have youngsters like Rohit Sharma or Robin Utthappa open the innings, and stand about a foot outside the crease, and take their guard on the middle stump, or take their usual stance and quickly move forward and across the stumps as soon as they see the line and length of the ball. See how Misbah moved his feet in India and thwarted our quich bowlers...The only danger is one of lbw, or getting yorked, but it is better than facing a 100 balls and scoring 10 runs...!Perhaps, it will be more difficult when the opposition is bowling at 140 to 150 ks consistently, but this is the only way. It is simply a matter of physics, which includes the speed of the ball, the bounce, the swing, the reaction time, and the the time taken for the batsman to bring the bat down. See how Michael hayden bats.... Team India, anybody listening out there?

Indias record against AUS really really is bad in ODIs over the years,in Tests we were winning series in India but losing badly there, even that is ended with Aus win in 2004,unless we start winning there is no use in worthless morons like Bhajji or Sreesanth constantly telling us AUS are beatable, first beat them and then say they are beatable, not like one win out of 20 attempts

Be practical. The likes of Uthappa and Rohit Sharma cannot upset Australians. Too early for Rohit Sharma and Uthappa needs to improve his backfoot play. Aus will easily plot his dismissal. First we need to have openers who have the ability to play 145kph bowling under pressure. Jaffer seems to be good only on slow and low surfaces and in both innings got out to similar strokes. Let Sehwag play, even if recent form was not good. He is a type of player who can unsettle Aus with his unorthodox batting. It is a gamble, he may get out soon or if he clicks then runs will come. It is better to be 50/1 after 12 overs rather than 15/1. Yuvraj is no good for tests, he just cant play spin. In 1st innings he got out to Hogg first ball but was not given out. In 2nd innings he again got out to Hogg, who is not even considered their #1 spinner for tests. Moreover he does not really have a good defence which is necessary on difficult surfaces where you just cannot go and play your strokes and need to graft. Unfortunately Yuvraj may remain as just one-dayers and T20s star, test cricket is not for him.

rightly said. yuv is overhyped player. has no half centuries in 9 innings 'overseas'. the same way dhoni's pathetic tech is also sorted out by bolrs all over the world.

why we are so upset... yes teh result was bad ..but it could have been a bit different if few things goes in our favour....
the Wicket of Sachin Tendulkar in first innings was the turning point of teh match...he was playing very good and Ganguly was also lookig confifent with him.. one more session from sachin , would have made lot of difference of teh match....... other wise we boweled well (17 wickets not bad) and batting other then Dravid (Ganguly , Laxman and Sachin all three looked comfortable as long as they were in teh crease)..... so i guess the big worry is Yuvi and Dhoni (they may find difficult to bat in Aus and that means we are going to loose atleaset 70-80 runs compare to Indian pitches ) And Dravid ...but as a great like Dravid we may see him different in next innings..

indians are really one batsman short on this tour, they can still call gambhir or chopra for 3rd test. its better to send back yuvi and let him play some domestic cricket (like pathan did).
