No surprises at all

Even if ramesh Powar was the captain of Australia they will win. there is no need to tell any Australian bowler how to bowl to an Indian batsman.

Keep it simple and test their patience as they are all one days players too. Bowl outside the off stump ball after ball and see how they give you catching practice. You dont need to have Ponting as captain at all

ICL needs to reach a position where they can compete with ICC i.e International teams under ICL banner. Will ICC let them get that far?? ICL should initially start with Sub-continent national level teams. Pakistan Cricket Board has already placed ban on Pakistan players under the name of Pakistan flag/nationalism quite similar to BCCI. They cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel. Freedom is not easy since Angrez split the sub-continent and made one fight other. There would be no LTTE, NE insurgents and Terrorism if the sub-continent stayed togther...that is for some other day.

yep blame it all on the brits. DO you sincerely think it would have been peaceful if they had been together. Why dont you talk to a sensible pakistani preferably whose grandfather had been forced to convert from hinduism...

No way can they could convert us and we would have reduced the influence of Arab financed radical Islam. There were more chances/pockets in Continental India to accept all the Tibet/Burma Buddist refugees.

if India fields the same 11 for the next test. Their explanation would be that Dravid needs more time to settle as an opener and so does Yuvraj to adapt to the Aussie condition, Dhoni had a bad one-off test and Sachin was unfortunate in both the innings though he looked promising in both. So, to the worst of my fears, the same 11 will play next test.

Sir, what else can be done?? the team now playing is definitely the best. They have experience and abilities both. Whom else you will play?? I do not think any youngster can do better against australia that too in australia. batsmen like gayle, kallis, inzamam cannot play against australia in australia, so what do you expect from some indian youngster do that?? Sachin, dravid, laxman, ganguly, yuvraj are some of the best batsmen even today. Some of the have vast experience too. I think we should persist with dravid as opener. The same players should continue to play. Hopefully they will do better and better as game progresses.

But one thing, India cannot win tests unless they start playing tests. what they are playing is one day cricket while playing tests. Sachin was playing with immense control when he went for one day shots which was totally unnecessary.
If players do not try to hang in there then we cannot win against australia. I am not telling if they try to stay at crease they will win, what i am telling if they don't try they cannot win.Sachin that day should have put an idea in his mind that he would stay at the crease for 2 days continuously, will never go for aggressive shot, will try to defent all out side the off deliveries, just keep taking singles, only go for aggressive shots on leg side; if he tried that either he could have stayed at crease for 2 days or at least several hours and india would have reached close to 300 dravid failed but did the right t

I do not agree with you about this being the best team. From when did Yuvraj become a good test player? If you base it on the last century, I am sorry, you are wrong. But I agree that they should have stayed at the crease for a long time. Sachin has vast experience and what use it is of if you do not put it in practice? Being positive is one thing but playing with aggression with total disregard for the match state is stupidity. He and Dhoni need to understand the subtle difference between being positive and losing their wickets for rash shots played on the pretext of being positive. Frankly Dravid should come down the order. He is an extraordinary cricketer, no doubt. Laxman at 3 is perfect under aussie conditions, Sachin at 4 and Ganguly at 5. We need to bring back either Karthik or Sehwag for opening along with Jaffer.

100% agreed. its not the best team due to selection blunder.
look at akash chopra and parthiv patel (now opening the innings) who r both scoring heavily in domestic matches. now dont say, they r performing against weak team. both of them hv performed in the previous tour of ausi. v neglect them in this tour.

parthiv has scored more than 1500 runs this season. still he is not in the eleven.

gambhir was not in the team for injury. but he plays the match for delhi which started on the same day ind played their first test. how ridiculous.

dhoni is much hyped player. even out of form karthik can score at least 5 runs more than dhoni.
evn yuv is hero on dead pitches only. forget him. atleast big4 will give some fight before losing. but others dont hv it in them to show.
its not just the lack of talent but our tendency to go for the big names.

Some time its sensible to go for change when things are evident. Kartik can make better batsman than Dhoni and can add 30 runs extra.
Harbhajan may not bowl well from now on as matches are to played on faster pitches. So get in Ishant or Irfan. Irfan can make better spinner than Harbajan in circumstances. The way and rate at which runs are comming, Sehwag has to be chanced now. At the moment we are not even trying to match the Aussies.

Can ICL help

Now that we have an option, why don't we take the help of ICL, since, BCCI generally complains that the best local talents are being coached and played alongside great and proven Test players like Lara / Caines and the likes.

ICL is good for India. Even ICC is scared of it that is why ICC's Brett Lee and others signed for IPL.
THUMB RULE - Anything good for India will have foreign powers blocking it directly or indirectly via Indians. We cannot see it clearly since our partial/incomplete Independence

Opening Slot

I just cant understand Dravid is not a opening player but he is forced to open. But in one day in batting pitches yoy have guys like Tendulkar and Ganguly fighting to play as opener only.

Why are they afraid to open in tests? This shows they are good only in batting pitches of sub-continent.

rightly said. always dravid is made a scapegoat.
i recall sahara cup series in toronto against pak way back 1997(?) series dominated by mohanti. that time also sachin was spared from opening the innings even in odi coz ball was moving too much.

Indian team is selected by politicians who are backed by some ex crickters. And like congress, they have reservation in the Indian cricket team as well. Deserving and talented players are ignored because places are reserved. Selection is just a drama.
