India is a free country. If BCCI takes such an action, they will lose it in the court of law.
The real problem is that the BCCI officials fear that they would lose control over the team if everything goes well, as has been happening with India without a coach. If there is no controversy, if the players and manager and the bowling and fielding coach start producing results by themselves, then how can the BCCI officials play God? So, now, when things are actually looking hunky dory in the Indian Camp, they have to bring a controversial coach, one without any previous experience to create problems. Now if things don't work out properly, they can gag this player and reprimand that selector and be in the news! If you look carefully, this is a typical problem in several
Kennedy once said, 'Victory has thousand fathers, but defeat is an orphan'. Because India won the T20 worldcup and won the Pakistan series (albeit depleted pace attack on flat pitches) this wants to become a coach. Until Kirsten was appointed as a coach this guy is a cricket manager and nobody knows what his role is.
This is the problem with BCCI and the mindset of lot of guys in general.
I would ask this what he is going to do when we loose the series (both ODI and Test) is going to take responsibility of the loss?
sandeep patil was trying very hard to become the coach of indian team but did not succeed. now he was given a chance to coach MUMBAI CHAMPS(ICL LEAGUE) and MUMBAI CHAMPS was beaten by each and every team from the league. than why was he trying so hard for coach in indian team

Kenya went to SF because other teams played badly. Kenya didn't got their SF berth on performance. Period.

Do you mean to say India went to finals because other teams played badly? After all, we never defeated SA and WI. We lost to Australia twice. We were lucky to beat England (that day who ever was going to bat first was going to win). Okay we beat SL, NZ and Pak.
We also beat Nambia, Holland, Zim and Kenya twice. Do you think we deserve to be in the finals?

Keep in mind we went to final by beating 3 of the best teams who could have been in finals easily.
Even thouh you beat AUS, that doesn't make you guarantee to finals.
cricket is considered a religion in india but india rank 5 th in ICC ranking. inspite of earning crores of money from advertisement our cricketer will not come up to australian level of cricket.

most of the seniors grew up in an era when fielding was not given any importance. Ganguly, Dravid and VVS (even today) dont know how to run between the wkts. A coach cannot come and make a drastic improvement to a half-fit players like Ganguly and VVS.
Why do these former guys come out of the woodworks & say they can do a better job/an indian can do a good job & we(team india) dont need a foreigner as a coach. Does this guy want another chance?
