The whole point is immaterial of the coach being a foreigner. Is he the best available for us? Both Ajit Wadekar and BCCI seems to have have preconceived notions about foreigners, ofcourse at opposite ends. Personally, I would also like to have someone who is having good records as a coach. Greg's intention was right but way was not appropriate in Indian environment. And I am more concerned about senior cricketers like Gavaskar, Shastri and Venkataraghavan who are involved in such decision making but never take any direct responsibility. I really think it is matter of confidence. Very easy to comment but hard to execute. Atleast they should accept it and keep their heads high.

It is an Indian Psyche. They won%u2019t work unless the boss is from some royal family or white guy. Think why Pataudi was successful? If Caoch is Indian then there will lots politics. If we conclude that if Wadekar suggests ChandraKant Pandit or Sandeep Patil that is only because they are Marathi then choice of foreigner looks better.
Why do we need a coach?When we won the worldcup under Kapil we did not have a coach(only a manager was there).When we won the world 20-20 cup we had a manager only(no coach). In all the other world cups(England,S.Africa or West Indies)we had high profile coaches,but we failed in winning the cup. India is much better with a manager(Rajput is doing a good job),so there is no need of a coach.Our statistics proves this.....Is BCCI IDIOTS listening????
wonder what specfic improvements wadekar has seen in indan bowling and fielding under Venkatesh and robin. Just a general statement to support his viewpoint. i suspect not many indian players want a indian as their coach. Its not bcci to blame.
What is mohinders Amarnath;s credentials as a coach. Who has he coached in India His stint with bangladesh was nothing. I do not think he has coached any ranji team . Yes Sandeep Patil has a succesful coaching record.
No foreign coach is reqd. like Gary,who is not a Coach to a team like India,having more experienced player still playing more matches than him.It is only a ego satisfaction of BCCI and lost of money getting form Ad-world,and coolected form general people.
I feel that coach is not needed, what we need is Admin Mangaer /Cric Manager who can motivate ,handles administration & media relations. The experienced players like Tendulkar, Dravid, Ganguly can trained their juniors in all aspect of cricket.For Bowling I think Shrinath can be proved better than Venkatesh Prasad or top of them is Dennis Lilly.
How about that? he is the most selfless cricketer ever...Jadeja should be fielding coach, and Nayan Mongia keeping catch...all together....FIXING coach
