why this torture?
by on Dec 04, 2007 09:27 AM

Wadekar should go play with his grandchildren. And rediff.com's editor or whoever approved publishing this interview needs to be fired from his/her job.
Please spare the readers from this kind of crappy articles.

We need Foriegn coach. period
by bhagat Singh on Dec 04, 2007 03:18 AM  | Hide replies

Indian coaches are mostly partisan and take sides. We need foreign coaches who are very unbiased in their approach, polite in their mannerisms and have an ability to handle pressure well and teach others to handle pressure well.

Also the need for a coach appears especially when the other teams get down to verbal battle. For example when australians were sledging us on and off field and news paper columns, we missed a foreign coach who could reply them back in their own way

Indian coaches and Indian languages
by Arun Govindan on Dec 04, 2007 01:48 AM  | Hide replies

Ajit Wadekar says:
"We speak different languages. So it is always difficult for a foreigner to coach the Indian players."
I'm wondering how many indian languages Mohinder Amarnath or Sandeep Patil or even Wadekar knows to train cricketers from various parts of india.

Choker Gary as coach?
by ganesh ganesh on Dec 03, 2007 09:52 PM  | Hide replies

BCCI is proving their crazy brains again. Gary kirsten has no proven record of coaching any cricket teams, except the fact that he runs his own cricket academy. His comments about india and it's people are unwanted and shows his ugly attitude.Even when he was on the prime of his career SA were proven chokers and they were not able to win significant matches. It doesnt surprise us to see these bcci fellows to run behind him as he might be the one who would have asked a lower package. That's what bcci is after isnt it?
Ajit Wadekar was a decent coach of the 90s and many things have changed in the cricket world after that.Kapil dev, Sandip patil all have been given the chances before and they all were failures. It's time India needs a good coach indian or foreign anyone who has the guts to point out the mistakes to senior players and who can identify talent and fine tune the skills within the youngsters coming into the team.Wadekar can't argue about Indian culture, psyche and other stories here, it is a professional game now and everyone has to be professional to survive.

Exactly what Macaulay wanted
by MS on Dec 03, 2007 09:11 PM  | Hide replies

Indians' faith in themselves annihilated. People blindly accepting anything that comes from the white man. We pick Greg Chappell, so what if his record as a coach is worse than that of a clown

Gary Kirsten
by Ronobir DasGupta on Dec 03, 2007 07:26 PM

A person who has such a low opinion about our great country should not be granted a visa, forget about being the coach, but then the BCCI are also people who have a low opinion of the people and of this country.
