Good like football became more competitive and interesting with more clubs in the fray cricket too would benefit. Having said that one should think in terms of having a regulator because there is a danger of matches being fixed as there is lot of money involved. The spectator should not be taken for a ride.

But I guess ICL is paying the players, a good hefty amount. It is upto the players not to get further carried away by temptations to earn more and more. We all hope, ICL will slowly replace BCCI. Those set of jokers are not fit for anything.

ICL

It is a good and welcome beginning. I wish more such sport events are organized by bodies in addition to BCCI not only in Cricket, other sports too. This will create lot of openings for the budding talent among our youth and create more world class players. All along BCCI was stiffling many talents by its partisan and unfair selection process.

Subhash chandra opened a Sports channel with lot of dreams. those were not fulfilled. He lost all battles with other TV channels...and now in frustration he has initiated this step...and also he must have something to show in his TV channels. This much hyped Show will turn into flop show...

why u think like this, do you think present BCCI administrators are not businessman, everybody has their own business, we cant blame them, we have to blame ourselves being present this kind of system. Why we cant make a resolution like - no for politicians in Games and sport bodies, is there any politician to support for this, I dont think even India team has any say in this.
So, be practical, u know without having any competition talent will not comeup, let hope that ICL has started with good thinking and will continue. my only request is not to allow any political leaders interfere in this leage, otherwise after somtime it will become another BCCI

How cn BCCI claim to be the Indian team
by Suresh on Aug 21, 2007 03:40 PM  | Hide replies

In a case in the Supreme Court, BCCI had made it clear that the team sent by BCCI to international matches does not officially represent the country. BCCI admitted that it is a private body. So BCCI does not have a claim to permitting or not permitting any player from donning Indian colours.

Bingo!!!
Exactly this is going to be the next issue. How can BCCI say that people joining ICL will never be able to play for India. BCCI doesnt have any right to claim that they own the Team India. Since there was no other cricket governing body, Team BCCI was mistaken as Team India. Now there will be some more light on this issue. Hope govt interferes with the issue. A possible solution can be a third (government owned)body that will select the Team India out of the players pool provided by BCCI and ICL

I aplause to the daring efforts made to start a genuine, fair and healthy cricket in India. We need that. A great salute to Kapil Dev and Subhash Chandra to start ICL.Those idiots who critisize ICL, they are idiots cause they do not know that for so many years this BCCI is makeing fool of indian fans.Every BCCI person now should be blown of with a nuclear bomb in there aas.I request to those who join ICL that please take care of ICL and do not dare to make ICL as Indian corrupt league. Those who critisize ICL players that where they will get there stadiums and all, they should better do not think of cricket cause they do not know the meaning of JAHAN CHAAH WAHAN RAAH.We the people of India will help them to give us good cricket. After all it is the people of india who made BCCI's every person so important.I am damn sure that who so ever is critising ICL will definetly be benefited by BCCI.
