keshab, u seem to have shallow understanding of the game; give credit to ICL for trying to do good things for the future of Indian cricket. Competition paves way for persuing excellence. And in the end, playing with some senior pros like lara, inzi, klusener, yousuf etc will help a lot of aspiring players. Come on grow up and think for the betterment of the game

Today Subhash C started cricket league... Tomorrow Reliance will start..they will have their own TV channel to Broadcast... Bharti will Start... TaTA will start...Birla ...and Infosys and Wipro too will jump in the field... coz holding cricket league will be a profitable business and than everybody including underworld will have their own cricket league.. what will then BCCI do?? May be after 10 yrs. i will run my own cricket league with Dhoni, Yuvraj, etc.

Rome was not built in a day. So will ICL not flourish in months. It will take sometime before it can become really competetive. But ICL has started showing its effect. BCCI is feeling threat, and that is good enough to make them think about cricket. Since last 2 years BCCI has been making money and keeping it with them. Neither using it for betterent of infrastructure nor paying the players handsomely. At least emergence of ICL will force them to mend their dictatorial ways.

All these who have joined ICL are making of fool of themselves.Everyone has joined there to make money. Guys like Mongia and Kumaran are forgotten. Unfortunately Rayudu can only dream for another 3 or 4 years to play for India because Raina, Kaif, Sehwag, Irfan are definetly going to make a comeback with Rohit Sharma, Tewari and others in the waiting list.

Kapil Dev talks only big things . He was the chairman of NCA .He should have done all these good thinsgs in BCCI . Why join a ICL.Dont tell me its politics. It was this same BCCI which promoted him as coach of Indian cricket team and NCA head. What did he do then?
Guys like Inzamam, Lara not to mention cricketers from SA and NZL dont have any future in their respective countries so they have joined ICL.
Subhash Chandra is the biggest business baron. The day this business will flop he will close the shutters and exit leaving these aspiring crickets nowhere.
As mentioned by someone ICL is the biggest Circus in the making.

Mr.Chatur, u also need to follow the game a little bit better and most importantly and learn to appreciate the good initiatives. When did ICL say that they dont see money in the game or do u think our board doesnt see money in the game. The important thing is allow the game to move forward and we will have some of the best talents well nutured and exposed to something like hard international cricket before actually stepping on the stage.

Hats off to ICL for taking this bold step to improve Cricket in India. This has happened mainly because the BCCI has neglected sensational players like Ambatti Rayudu & the like & sticking to the old horses(Donkeys). Shame on BCCI & good luck to ICL. I am sure the cricket loving people of India support ICL wholeheartedly.

good move by ICL
by on Aug 21, 2007 04:05 PM  | Hide replies

without knownig alphabets of cricket, some people are sitting at higher positions of BCCI and trying to rule the selection policies of cricket in INDIA and still trying to occupy the highest post at ICC level. Till this type of people occupy higher posts, we can't expect the improvement of the game in india.
ICL's move to take initiative in bringing the talent is welcome. We can't suspect the honesty of ICL, because the people who are working for that are sincere in game and will do without any politics. They are trying to improve cricket in INDIA. We should support ICL for bringing up the talent.
Hats off ICL. People are with U, so go ahead.

Good Move. We agree with your openion. Till the people like sharad pawar is there in BCCI occupying the higher post in cricket, no body can expect improvement of the game. Because, he knows only politics and how to play politics in all issues. first of all, there should be a policy so that no person without having right qualifications should be selected for such a higher post of any sport or game.

Good Luck Rayudu
by kris on Aug 21, 2007 04:02 PM  | Hide replies

I wish you good luck Rayudu, this is the best decision you have taken so far.

Zonal Quota and Mumbai politics will not allow any talent to enter into BCCI team, they can't be team India.

You are talented and you will grow with ICL.

All the very best

Rayadu's exclusion
by rajavaranasi on Aug 21, 2007 03:55 PM  | Hide replies

Rayadu was not considered for playing at higher levels as he was not maintaining 'good relation' with shiv lal yadav and his son or nephew arjun yadav.
It is good that rayadu moved to ICL , otherwise he would have ended his career in dark.

Yes, lots of young players are victim to the nepotism of Shivlal Yadav & his cronies in HCA. Someone should get rid of these administrators first if we want to see any improvements in Indian cricket.
