drav id most successful and better captian proved in less than 2 yrs

Wadekar:
Rahul Dravid as a captain has finally come full circle and now is able to implement what he wants. Previously his thoughts might have been influenced by that of the coach, but during the England series he was on his own. Bizarrely, each time we have won in England there was no coach.

Bedi:
We do better without a coach. For too long they've been spoonfed and now that they are on their own they probably realised their responsibilities better. Dravid has done a reasonable job as a captain: either he has been very good and attacking or at times he gets defensive, but he is learning.

Sehwag:
I was really impressed by Rahul's captaincy. It doesn't matter if you have the coach or not because it is the captain who handles things on the ground and Rahul carried the right changes at the right times with the bowling changes and the field positions.

Harbhajan:
We haven't won anything much for quite some time now and credit must go to Rahul Dravid and the senior boys who took the responsibility and led ably on the field.

dravid is better captain than gnaguly he is managing team verywell even while 2 ex captian superstar trying with dirty back stage politics to prove dravid not good captain

As a true fan of our cricket team.it is good to see our team moving up in the test rankings.whole credit should go to the indian captian dravid though he did not had a great series but as a captain he done wonder a full job.the way he supported his younger players deserves praise from all .bcci did the right thing by rewarding the whole indian team .i hope this test series win against england will help the indian team ahead of the much expected tour of austraila

If Dravid was not the captain India may move to 2nd place. It is his batting and negative leadership that spoil the game. Hope you are a Dravis fan not of cricket.

LG ICC Test Ranking
by Paul Thomas on Aug 16, 2007 05:17 PM

Team India moving up to the Third Position af ter the Test Series in England is a positive sign for Team India and on a whole in the sub-continent for Cricket Lovers.

At critical times, the Captain of Team India should be more forth coming. He should consult with his team mates and superiors in any eventality and take action to benefit the team and cricket. Not enforcing follow-on is one of the fallouts. I have a feeling there is more to this decisions, then meets the eye.

Anyway, best of luck for Team India in the future ventures.

A cool Achievement

I would rate dravid as one of the greatest captain India have ever produced. I would definitely put him in a league of Ajit Wadekar, only captain who won overseas series in WI, England and SA. Now dravid has produced the same result and also he proved one thing that expressive agression is not the winning mantra but cool headed captainly also produce wonders. Hates of to you.
