Dravid please leave the capataincy
by rakesh ranjan on Aug 16, 2007 10:20 AM  | Hide replies

Hi Dravid, Please leave the captaincy as you have no sense of captaincy. Third test between india and england was not a draw,it should be considered as a defeat. You made nonsense decision by not imposed follow-on on England. What a rubbish excuse that indian team are tired. You were representing the India and you should not humiliate the indian by saying that. Suppose in war our force started to leave the fight by making excuse that they are tired and want some rest between the war, what will happen to india. Dravid you should take moral responsility for that decision and leave indian capataincy.

Tired cricketers after three days? Safe means never leaving home (and having a heart attack), not competitive sports. Tired or fatigue is what a pro feels after a decade of leading a team, or batting 6 sessions to get 300 runs while saving or winning a game.

Blame BCCI, chappel (sic) and media for loosing a great captain and the current dilema, including the world cup. I hate to think what comes next in the OD series.

The WC debacle was not an unexpected one . Any knowledgeable follower of the game would say without any hesitation why India failed to make the super 8.. I wish to recall the final of the 2003 WC and would also like to recall the way in which the Team India Captain played. against the Australians. But for the then President of BCCI and his coterie no one would have imagined of selecting him as Captain for the tours ahead. The Captain of Team India at that time played only one good innings both in ODI and Test cricket against the Aussies but for the Present Team India Captain ( the then Vice-Cap) who was instrumental in several wins both during the Australian as well as the Pakistan tours., that man would never have had the opportunity to carry on as Captain. Everyone is aware how the then Captain skipped the match against Australia at Mumbai at the last moment feigning injury but was found shooting and also practicing in his home town and the match was won under the Present C aptain.

The media which is controlled by the people coming from the same region as the then Captain of Team India did everything to see him back in the team . The result is for everyone to see. Playing 24 overs for 66 runs against Bangladesh, a very badly played 89 vs Bermuda and an inexplicable 7 runs in 27 balls vs Srilanka and supported by a group he had given chances after chances despite poor performances during his days as Captain in order to drive wedge against a tough coach and a real

In the latest interview Zaheer khan said he was not tired and now he must be in trouble with BCCI and Dravid.

Its actualy very funny...if someone says good things about Dravid and BCCI there is no gag like bhajji and Sehwag said recently.
But if some player says in support of his team members then they get a hit on their knucles by the BCCI.

R we living in a democracy?
Our captain is giving excuses like bowlers were tired and sitting in the dressing room u cant judge a situation.

Dravid trying to say all fans are so stupid while Dravid Sharad Pawar Niranjan shah Kiran More Greg Chappel are the smart people.

India has got such a good team but i really spineless captain.

IF we dont get rid of Dravid(the captain) before the Australian it will be a real shame.
India will anyway get humiliated.

the Highlight of england tour was-
1.England without their pace attack of flintoff harmission hogard.
2.Rahul Dravid failing with the bat again.
3.Dravid not enforcing the follow on and totop that batting ever so slowly.

Is this is not enough for him to show that he is a very good captain. This is the team that came out of world cup, that time also u critisized and after winning also u r critisizing, u r a totally sick persons.

OK India looks better in Tests and that is good.More competitive abroad certainly. However the idea shd be to build for the future.Rahul can gracefully step down on a high having won the series in England after 21 years.yuvraj can be made captain. All those looking for an aggressive captain (perhaps foolhardy-who cares),will get one.The oldies will also be OK as Yuvraj has been there.Dravid can then focus on his batting which is what matters.Too much of a think tank consisting of grand oldies like Borde,Vengsarkar etc can disturb the gut feeling of a captain.Unfortunately in India if a captain goes wrong on a gut feeling the lynch mob will be out. That is why a risk free policy is followed.

by on Aug 16, 2007 06:02 AM  | Hide replies

The idiots at BCCI brought in Chappell, whose only purpose was to defeat, humiliate and assassinate Saurav Ganguly, a feat the powerful aussies could not do playing cricket, mission accomplished! Rahul Dravid as a captain was a joke in the second test at Pakistan in April 2004, and continues to be one, the Oval 007!!

Sourav Ganguly is a complete team captain, individually dealing with all players, senior or junior, getting the best out of each one of them without bruising egos. No captain to date from India has shown the balls needed to win matches as a team as the "Bengal Tiger". Remember the many servile captains of the past, literally bowing down to even the newest player from an opposing team, especially from the white countries.

Finally, leave Sachin Tendulkar alone. Given India%u2019s cricketing politics, his career and the turmoil from the days of his stint as a captain, to the mess since Chappell arrived, his current form is not an unexpected swing. These days the best Indian cricket players face thirteen opponents on the playing field, and two more umpires behind the (electronic) scene!

Way to kill the game and its fans, Dravid. Keep this up, the rest of the world teams LOVE you!!

Let's not kid ourselves - this 1-0 series win is 1-2 loss. The correct result should've been 3-0! There is no one from the England team who has the qualities or talent to play in test cricket.

This is not a call to axe Rahul Dravid. He should never have been a captain! Now, he refused to enforce the follow-on against the pathetic English team. Most teams pray for just that 200 minimum to be able to enforce it. Rahul has individual cricketing greatness, even a strong backbone, hence the WALL. But, a CAPTAIN! Just leave captaincy to capable cricketers.

Batting forms come and go but captaincy qualities are unique and rare. Sourav Ganguly was axed based on a batting-form excuse used by Greg Chappell (chappel), and the power brokers of the BCCI at that period. This, when he was shooting down the biggest thugs in the world, often with limited attack options. The on-field aggression he matched against the uncouth behavior of cricketers from South Africa, England and especially Australia was a never before by an Indian cricketer, a CAPTAIN. The idiots at BCCI brought in Chappell, whose only purpose was to defeat, humiliate and assassinate Saurav Ganguly, a feat the powerful aussies could not do playing cricket, mission accomplished! So far only Chappell has left, but pattern of mistakes is more or less same. Team needs complete overhaul of coaching staff immediately. Decision like follow-on, declarations, bowling change, change in scoring rate, should be done by coaching staff on sidelines, never by captain alone.
This is how all professional sports function.

Zaheer was bowling halftrackers in England's second innings. We all saw him getting his thigh strapped. He may not be tired to play the one day series but on the day he did not look anywhere near being fit.Only sreesanth saved the day with luck, otherwise as Pietersen said England could have got 500 runs.

Saurav captaincy records are swollen wins on foreign soil
4 against Bangladesh and

In case of Dravid

now calculate .....

yes if we remove those insignificant series then as captain saurav wins are 4 out of 21
and Rahul as captain 4 out of 15.

instead of enjoying tussle between bat and ball these guys want Saurav as captain. Many take different id's and post those hate Rahul messages which I dislike. Dravid and Tendulkar
by Partha Pratim Paul on Aug 15, 2007 10:52 PM  | Hide replies

Dravid is a very good batsman but a poor(in fact spineless) captain. He needs to be replaced. He did not enforce the follow on in the Oval test, stating that his bowlers were tired. Now Zahir Khan has refuted that claim. Also he is trying to please everybody who matters in Indian cricket. He has no cotrol in the Indian dressing room. Why were Raj Singh Dungarpur(that joker),Vengsarkar and others doing in the dressing room during play time.As Ravi Sastri correctly pointed out dressing room should only be reserved for players. It is clear that not somebody else(not the team) had influenced his decision of not enforcing the follow on,which is very unfortunate.

Tendulkar was a great player but not now, even though he is trying very hard.He has become ultra defensive and his performance with the bat was below average. He had sveral lives during his inings and inspite of that he could not score a century. It is a pity that he is playing and Yuvraj is warming the benches. If the captain thinks that his knwoledge of the game is important then he should be employed as a consultant.

Has Mr.PPP has ever held a cricket bat or a ball in his hands.A novice commenting upon the performance of tendulkar.I agree with him on the captaincy of Dravid.Of course he doesnt deserve to be a captain. One shud also remember that he is the only captain(Stupid) who ever denied a double century to a batsman durinf last Paki tour.Except Dravid, any other captain must have enforced the follow on and try to snatch 2-0 victory rather than behaving like a sitting duck and try to draw the match and take the series. He wants to be remembered as a captain winning two series abroad.Well its rather to easy to criticise sitting at home watching TV without understanding the intricacies of the game.

Dude, I dont agree with you atall w.r.t Sachin, man its the test match and not the one day for the 20 20 game where you require to play at the good pace. he stablize the innings and made sure is getting the platform where they are safe. anyways, i dont know whether to you played cricket or not but from your view its pretty sure that you lack a knowledge on test matches atleast.

I agree to your views Chirag... in the last test match when Sachin came into bat, India was 170 odd... when he was out India was already in a good score... it does show that his innings did stabilise the score.... man he cannot play at the same pace throughout his life... give him a break... and so far as the money he is earning is concerned... well he is doing it in his hard working way... why do we have to be bothered about it....

You are correct about Tendulkar as I was also shocked to see him weak against fast bowlers. Because of his contributions and strong desire to play for country, he deserves to be honored, let him play at lower (5 or 6) position where he will score at faster rate against spinners, or fast bowlers at their reduced pace.

Please understand that any captain simultaneously filling in as a coach, will end into failures and funny situations. Indian coaches just sit and watch, avoiding any responsibility. Follow-on decision should be made at level of team manager and coach. In fact, Borde and Vengasarkar are silently watching bashing and abuse on Dravid. These two persons are heavy burden on team. I believe Mohinder Amarnath deserves a chance.
