me got better idea. make all players captains by rotasion.
everybody to get chance and then, have reservatin for north, south, east, west, central or if you want,south-west, north-east etc. Also by caste, brahmin, baniya, rajput, dalit, andthen sub castes.
also by religion,
and if require more, by languages, hindi, punjabi, bongali, uriya, tamil, telugu, tulu
a true example of national integration (and cricket's disintegration)
start with making me the captain (a non-playing captain like in tennis)..

Idiot Laxman doen't need reservation for being a captaim. He is one of the most talented batsman ( see his records against Australia)India ever produced, most elegant & attractive to watch, Non controversial/political & no ego. So he deserve captaincy after dravid being a most senir player too. You need reservation for making such idotic comments.
hey SRT critisisers.. look for stats..n tendus avg also.. donn forget to compare wid wall(!!!!!/?????) also.. me sure still u ppl ll have sum words.. who cares..

Mr.blind fan of SRT , go and check the stats again but this time make sure that you look at pressure games and games where India needed run chase....you will find Kumble better than your SRT......Your SRT loves to sit in pavillion and watch the match when India needs him the most....He can score if he gets flat tracks and boneless bolwers and of course only in first innings.....my friend remove this permanent blindfold and come out of SRT fixation...Wake up man.

Pressure ki bat karta hai, 1999-2003 ke world cup bhool gaya, akele apne dam par 2003 mein final pahunchaya hai. worldcup mein hi sabse jyada pressure hota hai aur wo uspar khara utra hai.. ab tu bolega wo final mein kyoun nahi khela,,, jo final tak khelega har match mein uska har match mein chalna zaroori nahi hai baki 11 kya kar rahe the kahli naam ke liye aaye the kya team mein..

In 1970's it was common in cricket lovers to criticise Gavaskar and support GRV because everybody thought that makes genius among others. Now it is the era of same people or likewise people to criticise SRV and support others. All these guys forget there was a time he was the only player who scored for the team while others were just a part of eleven. Even after 18 years of cricket he still has enough motivation to perform which our current youngsters lack. We have to salute him. He is almost at the end of his cricket life. Please Learn to appreciate his contributions.He may be on decline but still he is better than so many.

Sale Rajesh, When SRT was playing in flat pitch what otheres were doing... wathching....why don't they make the runs.... He has played every bowler in the world(McG,Lee,Warne,Murli). agar 15000 run banana itna aasan hai to baki kya kar rahe hai... aur rahi bat india ko jitane ki to uske 41 century mein se 11 matches mein india hari hai aur un 11 match mein inida ka max score 250(1 time) and rest of the time 200-250.

my dear friend have u seen that sachin never performs under pressure, u know why??? because till sachin is there, there is no pressure and as soon as he gets out the pressure starts building up.

SRT's worst form is still equal to the standards of the rest of the player's ,,,,so even if he plays bad... he can still qualify to be in the team.... and for those who say,, he is not the best anymore..are actually more die hard fans of his rather than ppl with knowledge of cricket...!!

well in recent england tour he has got MOM againt bangla,MOM n MOS against south africa,one 80 n one 90 against england.few wickets..i guess this is better than any other his teammate..

I think that it is little bit misleading. It includes victories against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. According to Zee news the most successful capatain is Rahul Dravid. They should give break up.

Yes Sanjeev. Just to add the series that is worth winning was Pak but here too Dravid captained 2 out of 3 matches. And Dravid won 2 gr8 series vs England and West Indies. Also he captained only 17 test matches Vs Gangu's 28. So Dravid is better captain

Why are we arguing Ganguly vs Dravid. Captians needs capable men with them to win. Capable men suddenly started appearing with the beginning of Ganguly era and Dravid is continuing the Good job. On the whole... both of them deserve equal credit. However, it will be very interesting to see whether India repeats its 2004 performance again the Aussies later this year.

I think sometimes a snub brings out the best in some kind of people and Saurav is one of them. I am a great fan of his due to his attitude but I think dropping him has done him and India a world of Good.

See also the loosing percentage. Ganguly has lost more percent matches compared to Dravid. Also to be noted is in Pak Dravid captained 2 matches out of 3. So they are almost equal. But Dravid captained less no of matches and a long way to go! He will definitely cross Ganguly.

India won 21 test matches under Ganguly, & if you check the data U will find that Rahul averages 102.6 (2725) runs in those 21 tests. Kindly check that mate.

Pradeep I think Sourav will be happy to see himself out of the list if India continues to win and it does not matter he remains the best captain or not. Congrats, drawing room Cricket expert! best captain ever in Indian cricket history is Lala Amarnath, who lead the first ever series in England. Its not just stats, its curcumstances, which ar made huge impact. Pls don't take ownership of any one. Every Cricket player is great who represented the Indian Cricket on International or Domestic level. Rajinder Goyal is far better that Bedi, but didn't played for India at International level.
