Nothing wrong
by Ricky Ponting on Aug 10, 2007 11:26 AM

There's nothing wrong in the way sachin played yesterday. It's all about how and how long he's going to carry the innings. Nothing matters for players at sachin's caliber. Sachin can change the course of a test match in the span of one hour. Let's wait and watch today's play.

VVS is in very good nick too.

Why criticizing Sachin
by vineet mangal on Aug 10, 2007 11:26 AM

I read few of the comments posted in this forum, cricizing Sachin about his poor play. I want to ask, how many of you have ever played cricket at atleast district level. Well, it is very easy to sit outside and talk, but on field situation is totally different. Moreover, you can't understand the tactics and planning these players have. Everybody in team has its own role and responsibility. I would also say that Sachin played some poor shots and that shows that he was lacking concentration on time, but the way he played most of the time, was just according to the situation and according to the plans. English team also had a tactic and Sachin can't just go and swing the bat. You should also recal, that everybody has its own limitations. How can you forget that Sachins had a lot of injuries and age also a big factor, still it is his determination and great talent that he is still top gun of Indian Team.

Karthik is a good player, but to prove himself, he has to go quite far. There had been a no of players in the past, who performed very well for two or three years, but after that there were forgotten. It becomes more and more difficult to survive in international cricket as you spend more time there, because then with the use of technology, people find out your weakness and plan accordingly.

what do u mean
by RR on Aug 10, 2007 11:20 AM

"England [Images] fought back well to restrict India to 316 for 4 "
what do you mean?
Is 316 not a good score in a day and on the opening day and that to just 4 wickets?

How long u play sachin in the team? His legs are also becoming weak and remember how Steve Waugh, D Martyn, S Warne, B Lara announced their retirement?. You want Sachin to retire after he is humiliated by his own fans for non performance?

Sachin
by indira on Aug 10, 2007 11:19 AM  | Hide replies

Whenever India plays, Sachin is the only player seemed to be criticsed, whichever way he plays. If he doesn't score fast he is accused of playing for the records. If he scores fast and gets out in that process he is accused of being irresponsible. Yesterday the openers scored faster because the English bowlers bowled differently to them and when Sachin comes to bat they bowled bouncers and used bodyline tactics. Karthic scored because there was no pressure and huge expectation on him . That is not the case with Sachin. Whenever he comes to bat there is always a huge expecttation.Still most of the times he handles the pressure well and scores runs. Great will players always have lean patches. But their ability to come out of it and handle the pressure make them great players. Sachin and Lara are two such players. But Lara was not neither criticised nor accused because his countrymen know his worth and we Indians have short memory and don't recognise the worth of a great player. Please don't criticse Sachin just for the sake of doing it. This message board is full of Sachin most of the time and that goes to show that he is the only player worth the discussion.

After the English tour is over, Sachin Saurov and Lakshman should announce their retirement.
While Lakshman still looks elegant, the other two old hags Sachin and Saurov are eyesores !!

THE BITTER TRUTH about Tendla........
by mahesh dave on Aug 10, 2007 11:15 AM  | Hide replies

Tiger is always tiger in any situation....who live like a tiger and also die like a tiger at any cost.....
If "Tendu" play his original (aggersive) game he can tear in a part of any world-class bowler's bowling attack without doubt.....and he is capable to do it.......
But nowadays he lacks confidence to play against an ordinary bowler. He is not the sachin people have seen in the past......Instead bowler should get under pressure to bowl against "Tendu".......most of the time he playing very slow under pressure and out cheaply........He is a"legend", a world-class player and a great batsman......Lot of people don't want to see to make him century every time........people don't want to see "how many runs he made", they just want to see "how he made".....want to see his world-class batting, a "hero".....a "warrior"....not like the way he is playing these days.....People want to see him as a tiger not a paper-tiger....
Sachin plays like a "chicken" and bowlers became tiger.....If he play like a "tiger"...than any world-class bowlers gonna became a chicken that I am sure.....
If he play his natural game, records gonna built itself. Sachin is a "Kohonoor".....a "Star" and he should have to shine like a star......unfortunately the star became dull now.....very sad but bitter truth.....people should have to accept it weather they like it or not......Sachin has big records to his name but if he plays like "snail" or "chicken", people will raise fingers at him.

You are absolutely right Mahesh. Some People who lack cricketing knowledge blindly support whatever action by Sachin. They should know that Sachin is not above cricket. He should follow the example of Lara, Fleming, Huq and others who stepped down gracefully when they realised that their days are over. I am a great fan of Sachin hence I do not want him to retire when everyone cry for his blood.

From Last Few days i am observing here that person named "mahesh dave" is targeting sachin tendulkar in very abusive language.mahesh dave if you dont want to watch cricket then go for any other game but don't blame to any cricket player in such a mad language. You have full rights of discussing cricket related
things but your message only contains jealousy against sachin.
