I'm one of the privileged Indians to have followed Sachin's career since his Debut. He gave Indians something to cheer about at a time when India was reeling under a plethora of scams. I still get a smile on my face whenever I remember his great innings and the way he destroyed the spells of some of the leading bowlers of his time. He had achieved a lot of milestones (the worldcup would be his most glaring miss). But then one should accept that one will no longer get to watch the Sachin's game one loved. As the saying goes, nothing is forever. The argument, that though Sachin is not at his best but is better than anyone else playing for India, is not something we can be proud of. I know people who just can't imagine an Indian cricket team without Sachin. I'd suggest they stop recalling Sachin's glorious moments from the past and take a close look at his current play. I'm not angry or hurt, but rather pained to see Sachin's play. Agreed that teams have devised specific plans to get Sachin, but overcoming those plans is the mark of great players. Sachin is considered greatgenious precisely for such achievements where he counterattacked the oppositions plans and succeeded. Whenever a great player retires, it's general opinion that hisher boots cannot be filled by anyone else. But then no one can play forever and given a chance, new player coming in can go on to become another great player for the country. I'm of the opinion that though Sachin loves the game, he should

I'm of the opinion that though Sachin loves the game, he should understand that viewers should also be able to continue loving his game. If he's going to display the same kind of game he displayed yesterday, he'll be leaving as many painful episodes for us to remember as his glorious episodes, thereby nullifying the entire good work. Hope whatever decision Sachin takes is on the Best interest of the game in general and Indian Cricket in particular.

Hi Manoj,
Sachin is lucky to be not out as yet (agreed that luck is a crucial factor in Cricket). And moreover I was referring to the general decline in Sachin's game and not specific to this one test match. I'd also implore all the cricket fans to stop hurling abuses based on regional criteria. I am sure everyone might have enjoyed both Sourav's and Dravid's centuries made against Sri Lanka at Taunton in WC 1999 and not to forget Sachin's majestic 148 in Australasia cup in Sharjah. Infact these gems are admired not only by Indians but all the cricket lovers across the world. So lets be proud of all these great players. Just that these players leave us more pleasant episodes to cherish than the painful episodes to languish.

Hi Suraj, I accept the fact that sachin is not the same player he used to be..but just check out a few facts. After the worldcup which was a disaster for any player. he didn't appear in the ODIs against Bangaladesh, was MOS in Test Series, Was MOS in series against SA, played a glorious Innings in the last match, and is still undefeated in this Match. To say that SAchin is lucky to be not out doesn't make any sense. Otherwise he might have scored another hundred in last match, had he not got that shocking decision. To ask him to sit out and see someone like raina, mongia or kaif, taking his place.. I will stop wathing cricket that day.

Hi Sumit, I knew these facts but still am not very happy with Sachin's play in general. Do you remember the last time when Sachin played those glorious straight drives...with the full face of the bat and the logo visible on the screen? I'm unable to recollect the last time Sachin played the ferocious pull shot. I'm missing a lot in Sachin's game. Cheers Suraj
By Pravin Vite subramanyam i think no one on your family have taken a bat in the hand you bull shits only no how to critisize others just stop doing this and start supporting the master sachin i think if you have seen yesterdays game the tactics of the english bowlers is very different against sachin they really bowl him on the shoulder height so that he should do the mistake but see sachin he keeps his cool on by the wicket he knows after an hour they will change the tactics and he can play his normal game and that he is not out on 48 and i am sure that he will score a big hundres in this test match just waith and watch subro.

Pravin First ask Sachin to learn how to play against Anderson and Panesar....... "TendluCHICKEN" finished the day on a fighting 48 not out where most of the time he had to contend with short pitched deliveries. He hit just five boundaries in 132 deliveries for a strike rate of 36.36, the lowest of the Indian batsmen today......... sachinGHICKEN is so great that in his career of 17 years he is not able to win a world cup for india.. shameless creature... and people like u still support him.. It is high time for sachinCHICKEN to retire from active cricket.......

Mo*ron dave dear MF lick tendulkare's a$$h0le. LOL. I think you are a kid of 15 nd start watch cricket just couple of years back. Aren't you? Have you seen tendulkar's batting ever before this test match? You know how to hold a cricket bat? barking DOG.
How can a cricket fan's memory be so short lived?? In recent series, Being Man of the series .. scoring above average among the other batsman in ur team .. all do not matter???
Everybody wants to compare Karthik & Sachin?? 100's of Karthik's & Jaffer's will come n go .. but getting a player like Sachin again is difficult..
If Sachin wud hv gone after the bowling .. and just in case ... got out in 20's & 30's .. the nation wud hv been after him .. and if he drops anchor and fights it out .. there are quite a few still after him..
Give this classy player some respect that he deserves!!

MY foot....... Sachin "Tendli" is a 17year old "khatara" ....which needs to be in the junkyard.... This selfish "Sachin SNAIL" playing for himself, want to make century against England in last test match in England....... Uski century banane ke chakkaar mai India match jitane ke badale draw ho jayegi...... Shameless Tendlaaaa.......

dave stop bulshitting india must play another 2 sessions to win the match.and if india looses wickets inbetween u cannot even reach 400.staying in the wicket is more important.
RE:Sachin deserves respect...
by Reza Arif on Aug 10, 2007 12:52 PM
Stayin in the wicket is more important under these circumstances .. This is Test Cricket and not One Day Cricket ..
I can only pity u for u r unable to recognise the greatness that this man personifies..
Anyways .. u hv ur opinion .. I hv mine .. India is in a decent position now.. lets hope the consolidate further and are able to bat out a couple of sessions ..
Test Cricket is about playing out the sessions .. takin it one session by session ...

Appreciating Saurav/Sachin is fine. For that matter you do not have to blast everyone. We all know yesterday Saurav got a bad decision. Otherwise we were all looking forward to watch his stylish batting.Sheer Bad Luck for him/us. We are deprived of it due to some silly umpiring mistake. Any way better luck next time to DADA.
