Great Going
by radio mirchi on Aug 10, 2007 10:48 AM

It is fascinating to see the players are applying themselves to the match situation. Karthik played a great innings. Wasim contributed. Dravid made a good 50 and Tendu still continuing. Gangu played well but given out. Laxman in a good nick. This is what the whole country was looking for " Team India" where every team member makes contribution without selfishness. Even coaches Prasad and Robin are contributing. India is going to win this match and series and create record.
Best of luck real team India. Jai Hind

agreed that sachin not in greatest of his forms, in pooor form rather, still we forgive his drowsiness and hope for better shots, and fielding errors.. wat makes me angry and follow the people who barks for his retirement is the urge he showed with reckless shots to complete half century before the end of day 1.. seems best option for sachin now is to go back to his boy days when he used to throw his bat at anyything,, india can use him as an afridi, and others can take the responsibilities..

i was a great fan of tendulkar...but since bangladesh series his is displaying pathetic cricket. It seems like he is dragging his cricket life for his commercial assignments. When Rahula nd Kartik were playing the r/r of india was 4.25 at one stage , as sachin cames the it dropped down to 3.25. Australians would have continued with the same tempo... but sachin build undue pressure by not playing positively.i think he should retire now.

Hey man... chill out. India have already piled 300. Now they need not worry about the run rate. Just keep building on this score. If India take too much time, Enland will start panicking because they have to win at any cost. And in this desperation they will throw their bat, and will be more likely to get out. Its team's starategy, to go a bit slow.

Keshab,

Dravid has doing that (dropping run rates in Test as well as ODIs) consistently for last 13 years. Why blame Sachin? Sachin was bombarded with short deliveries in leg stumps most of the time yesterday. Have you ever played serious cricket in ur life? I doubt. Because it is extremely difficult to score against bodyline rising balls, especially with square leg, Forward Short Leg, Leg slip and Deep Square leg in place. England resorted to negative tactics to restrict flow of runs.

Sachin may be great but the way he was facing England bowlers was pathetic. But for the buttered gloves of Mat Prior he would have been licking his wounds at dressing room long back. On the otherhand Dinesh Karthik was superbly positive in his strokes and took war in to enemy's camp by positive stroke play. This is the diffrence between youth and aged players.

You are right Raam. Karthick took on the bowlers upfront by opening the innings. Even after laying such a solid foundation, the "paper tiger", the great tendlya kept slowing down the pace for his personal milestone.

Scoring speed

Scoring rate of India in each session describes the age of the players itself. Now you can figure out who has old!!!!

YOu can say it other way round also. like:

1)According to your statement Dravid is very young,
2)English bowlers bowl well after they get tired OR
2)only part-time bowlers like collingwood get the break through for english team.

It all depends how you think!!!

Who is Tiger and Who is Chicken

Karthik is a real HERO........"Tendlu" is a real ZERO..(chicken)
Karthik had made 91 runs(who didn't play for 17 months in test cricket) as a opener ...........face new ball.....playing under pressure to make place in Indian team.....
"Tendala" came for batting when India was 189/2....
there is no pressure.......still playing like a "Snail"
Tindla is a "Chicken"
Karthik is a real "Tiger".........
Tendla is a paper-tiger........

It is high time "Tundla" to retire from active cricket.......

Indian public is really crazy by giving such foolish remarks. My dear Kartik has no pressure to score because there is no huge expectations from him and from Tedulkar there is always expectation that he will score nothing but hundred.Yes he was playing very unlikely Tendulkar but world knows now how to bowl to Tedulkar and rival teams come with a stategy to bowl to expoit his weaker points.Same is not the case with Kartik who is new and is quite unknown to bowlers.

You are a nut Rakesh. If rival bowlers know how to bowl to Sachin, he should have known how to bat. Dinesh hs played only 12 innings as opener and playing as opener is not so easy. Did you play cricket any time in your life? Who said there was no pressure for Karthik. The foundation laying for good score is the responsibility of openers and huge pressure is on them to face the new ball. The bowlers are fresh and energetic. When Sachin came to bat there was no pressure He should have played like Dravid but he chickened out. Prior was his saviour yesterday. Who wants 100 from him always. We have Dravid Gangulli Laxman who can also bat as well as Sachin.

Mr. Mahesh Dave,
Pls. stop comparing between Karthik & Tendulkar. Karthik is still a kid in front of Tendulkar. I also critise Tendulkar on his poor performance, but he gave so much to Indian Cricket, that u can't compare him with any other. If you have seen yesterday's play of Karthik, the shot in which he got out, is a silly & foolish shot played by player, when he is in Ninetie's (in a test match) and that too when the ball is swinging... Karthik has a long way to go and have to learn a lot about Test Cricket.....

why not compare?? For yesterday whatever Mahesh has said is very true. In oval yesterday Karthik was Hero and Sachin was zero. Except Sachin all other top batsmen played positive cricket. Sachin was playing for his individual record. I am a great fan of Sachin, but I am not blind to see his pathetic display of batting. Disguisting to say the least..

ppl who r intrstd in cricket have definetly picked up a bat. Its crazy fans of tendulkar who dont realise that he is past his prime. Any dont gloat over the performance. the english team is playing with minus their top notch bowlers. If they were there, i would have loved to see how our hero would have performed. He was a zero, when he faced real quality bowling in S. africa and in the world cup just succumed to pressure. If he scores a century here now, god save the country, because if he fails for a hundred times againts quality bowling, still people will give examples of how he made the century, created a record etc. but ofcourse none of it would have helped india.
