Venkatesh Prasad has a very Good record as a coach. He is considered among the top 3 coaches in india along with chandrakant pandit and paras mambrey. Under him India Juniors reached world cup finals, and India A also performed brilliantly.
The fact that you don't know this shows that you are one of those people who just watch cricket if sachin is blasting, and then will go ga..ga in praise. and if sachin goes duck, then he has to be removed.

No doubt Venkatesh Prasad was not successful bowler of India, but certainly he was not the worst either, he was failure against Jaisurya coz Jaisurya was in best form of his life during that time. But Venkatesh Prasad certainly had a biggest weapon of Leg cutter and he exploited those in South African conditions.
Greg Chappel was a successful Captain and Batsman of Australia but he was not the best Coach. So if Venkatesh Prasad is not a Good Bowler then he could be a Good Coach if not Best.
I think everyone deserves a fair chance, Lets see on the performance then we will comment... If he makes wonders it will be good for the team, If not then he will be sacked.

many south ind players do not dadagiri or back stage politics. Even u take history South ind players were represented the team b'cuz of perfomance and ind cricket system is rotten with politics, goondagardi, groupism, media hype partisn etc.. those who play petty politics can play even without scoring runs or not taking any wkts. those who really work hard will be out of team some yrs ago gavaskar scored 36 runs in 60 overs during WC and venkat raghavan that time in very good form as bowler then he was captain for one match and next match he was XII man and slowly out of odi team. Kumble and laxman were performing well in odis but both were not fitted in ganguly group, were out odi team. Ranjnikant Venky, dravid kumble are more popular in TN than K'taka and many youngesters from TN are helped by these 3 players... u tamilains forgot who destoryed the career of s sriam, hemang badani, murali karhik S badrinath had good domestic season last yr and he was deserved to be selected ahead of ganguly but he was not seleted b'cuz no godfathers, politicians or media hype like ganguly now who is supporting dinesh karthick??

Hi Suman (Dravid's...), Enough is your praise the Lord (dravid) slogans. Let me give you some facts, When Ganguly thrown out of his captaincy the team was healthy Yuvaraj scoring, Kaif scoring, Shewag scoring, ofcourse Dravid too scoring, bolwers like Zaheer, Balaji, Aashish, Irfan, Kumble, Harbajan, doing well. dinesh was keeping well and Tendulkar & Ganguly just maintaing their positions. After taken over by Dravid joining Chappel hands who has this team won few matches. But eventually one by one got rusty and unsecured plans and groupism also developed. Later the team india were ruined and they started losing and the first beat is in WI losing ODI badly, Malysia, Champion trophy, SA and now WC. In the mean after bringing back Ganguly Team India earned respect in SA test matches, ODI against WI & SL in India. In my opinion as long Dravid stays with captaincy circle Team India will never prosper. BEST OF LUCK...TEAM INDIA

check statistics ganguly had advantage of leading side for more no matches while dravid is not leading side from last 20 montyhs dravid performed slefless and batted in all crucial matches against strong bowling attack without dravid ganguly success average lower than sachin even still winning average is only 1% diff and team won odis and tests under dravid captaincy without ganguly. ganguly took credit for victory for performance players like dravid, sachin, kumble laxman while dravid shared victory credit with his teammates. dravid accepted responsiblity for WC debacle which is b'cuz of dirty politics of sachin and ganguly both ganguly and sachin considered are better players than dravid and would have fought battle on wi ground instead of back stage politics 3 icc awards and icc ranking speaks for dravid's professionalism commitments

don't know why venky has been chosen as coach. we have better Indian coaches least to say foreign. to name a few - Kapil, Mohinder Amarnath, chetan chouhan and many more. Even Srinath is better than Prasad. Secondly, if the team wants three coaches for batting bowling and fielding then why not Gavaskar, Robin Singh and Amarnath. They can also go for Kirmani as wicket keeper coach. The truth is too many cooks spoil the broth. and here are a bunch of jokers showing a circus show.

Best thing BCCI could do is, ask everyplayer to employ their own coaches and perform to their best under the Manager (can be any non players). Pawarji shall consider this suggestion, which would save time, money and critisism.

arey bhai aisa nahin hain.Bob Woolmers is also not at all greatest cricketer but he is indeed very good coach. Yes Venkatest prasad is not successfull in containing runs when he was bowling. But he had lot of variations in his bowling. He got very good Slow Ball and yorker. But one thing is sure that Pace is important. We need bowlers who can ball like Brett Lee & Shoib Akhtar or Shaun Tait to rattle batsman.

well...venky is one of the most qualified coach in India at the moment. he passed all teh coachin exams frm england and australia. So its better to give him atleast one chance. Either he will do better or those shout in favour of desi coach will see the result. Kapil had been India's coach in past. didnt do much. may be that time team wasnt so gud, could be one of the reason for kapil not doing gud as coach. but ya why so many coaches and why not taking teh best man fo rteh job....because if they do so then hat would be the reason for india's failure. and one more BCCI should look for another coach for...RuNNING BETWEEN TEH WICKET"

if the team mates only betrayed the captain and team why blame the captain? dravid gave 100%commitment and performed for team win when he played under ganguly he trusted senior players like sahcin, ganguly, agakrar, bajji, dhoni, zahirkahn will support him but backfired by same players 2 ex captains who considered more talented and natural strikers of ball in odis than dravid would hav fought battle on ground instead of backstage politics. SL team ex captains are supporting mahila and they are playing so well in WC but for team ind senior players only betrayed the captain and team and millions of fans nobody in bcci has gut to speak against or remove these super stars. some young players will be axed

Must be the way wright, he is the leader and he should take the responsiblity, look at Inzy, Lara. For example congress party fails in Maharastra polls the state leader should take responsibilty and BJP loses parlimentary Vajpai should take responsibility and you can say oh no others never perform and show fingers. dravid is good captain he started winning 18 odis in chasing and but 2 superstars alwayes make sure team lost and dravid termed as not good captain. Dravid played under leadership of sachin, ganguly and gave 100 % commitment to team cuase and anchored many wins for team in tests and odis. His ICC ranking and awards speaks for his performance for team. He trusted the senior players and backfired by the same supers stars like ganguly, sachin, dhoni, harbajan, zahirkahn agarkar etc.. team ind early exit is b'cuz of some senior players lack of commitment, negative cricket and 2 ex cpatain's dirty politics in dressing room. Instead of supporting captain, both ex captain undermined his ability and when it comes to take blame for defeat never come forward SL captain is getting full support of his senior players and cricket None of senior player /ex captain m envied mahila%u2019s his promotion as captain From the outset they gave unstinting support. they remained hungry to perform and did not rely on reputation or popular support to protect their places. 2 ex captain in Ind team termed as better lalented and stroke makers in odis w fought battle on ground in WC rather than in dressing room. Both are now busy in being spotlight in media and self making image
