Azhar Deserves

Azhar deserves much-much more. Lots of shrwed people have escaped even they had committed bigger crime. And an innocent man has served punishment without any concrete proof.

One of the best cricketer of his time deserves to serve country and cricket.

We should use his experience for youger generation.

100% Azhar deserves a return to International cricket
by Zuuby on Oct 20, 2006 02:59 PM

First off all, your headlines "Is BCCI softening towards Azhar?" is incorrect. There is nothing like softening towards Azhar. He was and is the king of cricket. Kings don't require anybody's softening.
Even the CBI has given him clean chit and now BCCI has acknowledged that he was wrongly punished. If he is proved guilty, then we can discuss on his role in cheating Indian cricket.
He was a scapegoat in the turmoil of the cricket politics. This whole episode was blown out when actually he was suppose to play his 100th test match and was very close to be the first Indian to score 10,000 one day runs, which are a mile stone in Indian cricket. He deserves applauds for his contribution to indian cricket. He Should be given his due to contribute to indian cricket by playing for india and coaching or any other responsible position in Indian/International cricket. People like Muthiah (ExBCCI Chief) should keep their personal grudges away from the merits of Indian cricket. Good wishes to Azhar, the King of Indian cricket.

Is BCCI softening towards AZHAR;
by shrikant iyer on Oct 20, 2006 02:47 PM

Hi All,

Azhar has been a great player, a great captain & was also known to be the most sportive person of cricket before he got scarred by the match fixing scandal. As a human being he may (not proved) have committed a crime (Mistake) but worth being pardoned.Even god forgives man's mistake who is ICC? Are they greater than god? No doubt BCCI has adopted double standard already when they ruined Azhar's career without proving him guilty. He was punished on the grounds of suspision which was already a wrong deed of the BCCI.Now by deciding to soften on the great legendary Indian captian Azhaa they are not doing a favor on him but only rectifying their own guilt/mistake whatever one calls.

Regards
Shrikant Iyer

AZHAR DESERVE HONOUR
by SUDHEER P P on Oct 20, 2006 02:34 PM

I fully agree with BCCI's intention to fecilitate Azhar in the upcoming ceremony. After all he was one of the finest cricker INDIA has ever produced. History will definetely include him in the category of Gavasakr, Kapildev, Sachin, Ganguly, Kumble, Dravid. He also was the most successful captain of India till recent times. He was never involved in any controversy till this match fixing allegation broke out in 2000. He according to all cricket followers was a gentle man of great charactor. He according to Ajit vadekar the then coach was a goodlistener to the suggestions and ideas given by coach and other well wishers a quality many of our great cricket captains lack. Was not azhar's batting a treat to watch in his batting days? He was loved by every indian across the country. Mistakes are human and even if he did any mistake, that has to be forgiven for the very reason that he had served our country for a very long time. He surely deserve a better treatment and I am happy that BCCI has realised this fact at last.

I wish him the very best of luck. May the almighty forgive all his sins if any and the sins of peopole who ill treated him.

Azhar deserves to live his life as other cricketers are living. There is no proper evidence against him of being involved in match fixing.
Decision made by BCCI to felicitate Azhar is welcomed.
As he has already served a 6 yrs ban.

When someone in your family take or gives bribes will you kill them or keep them away from your family. If you say "YES" you are a lier, because already someone in your family would have done it.

Lets show some softness to the legent, atleast for his good part.

If people think, he betrayed, then you got keep all the politian and leaders away from country.

Banning Azhar
by Krishna Tallur on Oct 19, 2006 10:33 PM

Azhar was one of the best players of his era. There was a time before Sachin, India depended on his batting. The betting allegation may be true. The fact remains that he is a former India captain and he led India to several victories. He deserves to be invited for the function. If the courts decide that he is guilty, let him serve punishment for that.
In US baseball arena, Pete Rose a great player was caught betting on the games. This was after he finished playing. He was coaching a team. He was banned from baseball. He would have been nominated for basebal hall of fame but he will never be. But in year 2000, American Baseball put a team of 100 greatest baseball players and honored the living members, he was one of them. This guy was actually caught betting but they honored him for his talent in the game. Pete said that for a few hours he felt like he had his life back. Azhar deserves the same
