Fabulous article!
by Krishna Adavi on Oct 06, 2006 11:49 PM

Fabulous article! I totally agree. That somehow-make-news attitude of indian media is killing. I hate to generalize anything but yes, truly the indifference media is showing to the master blaster is painful. Looking at what he has done so far, we owe him anything but disrespect. He sure is god of indian cricket if not more. "Don't criticize what you don't understand" is the apt line. This attitude is hurting the very spirit of any sport in india. Common stop worrying about Sania's skirt length or her religious ideals, afterall she is 19 and she is doing what a billion of us could not. Let them do what they are good at.

Truly amazing article. I agree with Gaurav one hundred percent. Leave the genius alone, enjoy the golden moments while it lasts.

Let us all celebrate the truly genius around us till he fades away.

Sachin

Well its absolutely true that Sachin is not as good a player as he was, say about in late 90's. We saw glimpses of him making conscious effort to change his approach to the game, be more solid and lesser strokeplay from 2002, although we did see the old tendulkar in the 2003 world cup again, but that was about it. Inspite of him not performing as consistently, and him failing to deliver in crucial matches, i still believe he is a gud enough player to be in the team, infact one of the best. Any critic who says he needs to be dropped is probably out of his mind..

Sachin

It is a reality that Sachin was the only shining example in a gloomy Hindu economy. He was the colossus who was swatting every bowler in the world and everyone were honing their skills to get him. The greatest thing about Sachin is the mature way he carried himself over the years. Controversy and Sachin always have been mutually exclusive unlike the other greats with their foot in the mouth statements.

Sachin is a great cricketer and a great individual and I like every Indian, hope that many more super achievements should flow in from his Bat.

Carry on the good work Sachin, you are an idol to lesser mortals like us.

please clap for this passionate school-boy essay. According to this writer, you should keep praising tendulkar even when he (1) declares an injury whenever he chooses, mind you, this fellow picks his matches to play, (2)scores only when he thinks he has to or has to keep somebody out of the team, (3) slams centuries against schoolboys and a "red team" specifically loaded with struggling players. bah! Isn't that genius?

have you gone completely insane?
How could you talk like that, Ur comments are completly baseless, tendulkar has not hit tons with school boys.
U idiot he has scored 7 centuries with Australia and India has won 6 of them, that show his calibre.
U have no right to comment on a genius, U are not worth living, U ppl do nothing, simply comment on those who do something great.

I could not help but reply to this comment. true, the article is all praise for Tendulkar, but it is praise richly deserved.

I would only say, which cricketer has had an impact on cricket the Sachin has had? To single out his failures (and there are very few) is one thing, but to question his sincerity and love for the game really is incorrect and frankly, stupid. Any sincere follower of cricket will know that a player like Tendulkar comes once in a while. It is quite obvious that this is the man (alongwith Kumble) who fights all the time and keeps the team over everything else.

To suggest that he picks games and chooses to score, is frankly a naive and ignorant remark.

Tendulkar's sincerity and attitude is as exemplary as his straight drive, and to question these shows stupidity, bitterness and pettiness.
