thanks Gaurav..for the fantastic aritcle. Sachin is a legend. And we are lucky to have seen him grow in front of our eyes. God bless him. Someone has said...we don't know what we have got until we lose it forever. I know I will cry the day Sachin will retire. All good things come to an end. The very thought of that sends goosebumps through my body. I will go on record here to say that Sachin Tendulkar is the greatest Indian born in the 20th century. If only time could freeze for Sachin to go on...forever...
Well written! I couldn't agree with you more. We mortals have absolutely no right to pass any judgement on God. Justifying the expectations of a billion people EVERYTIME is no joke but he little genius almost did it more often than not. Let us be proud that he is our very own!
I haven't read such a fine article on Sachin for a long long time. One of my friend used to write like this in the past and distribute it to our limited group of cricket fanatics.
I have had so many fights over some of my friends in justifying why Tendulkar is THE BEST and the BIGGEST Match winner India and World has ever had. Thanks to Stats Guru I won all of them.
One should never forget the 16 years this guy has put in for our country playing top cricket. Just try to compare to any other profession like IT or Retail or any thing else, and think of how much respect you would get after so much experience and that to being on the TOP on most of the time.
I cannot agree more with the statement "Thank God that you are a part of the Tendulkar era". This may not happen again for years to come... So lets cherish it as much as we can... I always wondered how it would be like watching Bradman... I am sure my kids will wonder what it would have been like watching the India Australia semi-finals and finals in Sharjah where after the sandstorm came sahinstorm.
Hey Gaurav, I thank you for putting this message accross the Indian Cricket fans. Even I used to expect something unnatural from this genius everytime he steps onto the field, and start criticizing meaninglessly. The basic poblem with humans, esp with Indians (yeah, Indians are more human ;), is that we start expecting something from our stars (cricketers in this case) things that we lack in ourselves. We want them to be more disciplined, more focused etc etc., but how many of us are what we ask, esp the critics. I am sure, none of the critics (that includes me If I could count myself in) have the virtues that are required to become 'The Tendulkar'. One should start looking into the mirror everytime he criticizes. The media too has a got a great role play here. We, the general public are basically 'illiterate'. The media is supposed to be the most intellect entity, and has got a great responsibility to educate us. Indian media is very amateruish, and it succumbs to commerial interests way too easily. It should provide balanced views - neither create stars overnight nor start breaking them down soon after creat one. Thanks Gaurav for you good thoughts.
