Chumba Wumba ..... Tub Thumping
by perl57 on Oct 08, 2006 05:24 PM

In the second edition of Mini World Cup in Kenya, India faced australia and there I was, it was a festival and with a plenty beer bottles in front... and boy oh boy what a start. Have the world anytime seen any batsmen hit a bowler of McGrath class in such a way that even before the bowler finished his follow through the ball hit the head guard of the straight boundary and came back almost to the pitch? Have anyone seen a bowler of his class get hooked out of nairobi? Aah!! Thats legendary for you. To be great like Bevan, Steve Waugh, Ricky Ponting....etc is one thing and it is another to be like de silva, mark waugh, Lara and rarely it is only one thing to be Don Bradman. But to be Sachin Tendulkar, you need to have the greatest strength to carry hope of a billion people and still come more often than not successful. If people cannot recognise that then they should must wanna dig up a hole and bury themselves in that.

However the media critices, there is no doubt about his genius and he lives in all cricket lovers heart.
Not to forget the laurels he has brought to India and to Cricket. He is a role model for millions. He is class apart and will reply strongly to all his critics by his performance.

yes its true in many ways,
we hail the hero in his great strides.
but when he is ailing we fool about him.
now there is so much weight on the master.
the hopes of a billion.
Now that he stands for himself, let him shine once again for india.

Long Live Sachin and writers like you ......Amen!!!
by perl57 on Oct 08, 2006 09:25 AM

For I am yet to see a better article on the great man since....... God Spoke to Adam. Because it is easy to write when HE is at HIS demonic best, but, to write when he is for once looked mortal by scoring a painful 130 odd against pakistan and still be on the losing side, or when he has failed against aussies, or against few of the lesser nations, it is very tough. But for India is democratic and every one has a right to speak shit as they like, for example the inevitable "commentator" (I do not see anyone taking more personal opinion than the one I refer and all of us know) jump upon and say "HE's gone". He is getting paid for speaking that way. And we know who wants to hear these words. Who has ever seen Sachin score a magnificient 49 when HE faced the deadly Ws in sharjah when the whole were scared of them. A match lost by sheer politics. Remember when West Indies toured India (Sachin's first time)and how HE literally demolished including Walsh and Ambrose. And how many remember the way HE has destroyed every Oz bowler since HE stepped on the field....particular McGrath? Times may come and Go. But there would only be one Tendulkar. Gods have Sent him to play cricket...thats it..

Let all of us savour the remaining few years of the Sachin Tendulkar show (Live)!!

My MAN! SrT!!!!
by Ashish Viradia on Oct 07, 2006 07:17 PM

Great article! Truly, something that I always think about, but never put it down in words.
We are a bunch of people who wants same for eternity, but forget that even GOD\'s who once incarnated on earth was faced with mortality. It is the greed that does not allow us to think otherwise.
SrT is my HERO, a good role model for my kid. He is exceptional human being sitting on the wealth, love and affection of more than a billion people, yet his feet somehow touches the earth, bear in mind he is not even 6 feet tall.
Critics have there own rights, I think that is why we call them critics. It is funny how someone lesser can suddenly start coaching SrT how to bat or how to cary himself in and out the field. I pitty them. For once, all the new breeds should understand that this is once in a lifetime opportunity for them to learn from the master by just watching him acting in his art and treasure it.
For critics, just have a chat whit another genius Brian Lara, he will let you know what is SrT and how much is left in him, beacause he of same breed.
I wish this dream never ends!
