Beautifully written and aptly conveyed. India should truly stop playing cricket. In a population of one billion and counting, with more money put in than any other country, if we fail to produce 11 cricketers who can, if not win all, at least have enough stomach for fight, we should not waste all this money and time on a sport which brings us nothing more than ignominy and heartburn.
What comments to share now. Its nothing to do now with winning just one game or series and regaining the confidence in Indian people. Its the question which is to be answered Whether India can win with authority. They need to be shown the life history of Lance Armstrong to get inspired. We can't just keep on writing and sharing comments about the present situation about the Indian team's plight. I guess where has all the fighting spirit vanished. The team's morale must have been down definetly and add to it there is even pressure now from our poiliticians discussing in Parliament. Can we have some hope for tomorrow.
Let's note the positives from 3rd ODI - the excellent bowling from Zaheer & Kumble.. especially Zaheer really improved from the 2nd ODI to the 3rd. the lesson from there may be to persist with Pathan to get his confidence back soaring, for him get back to the consistently delivering bowler for a good time before the last couple of seasons...i find no reason why he can't be on top form again... (looking forward to the World cup in WI, we can then pick from Sreesanth,Munaf, Agarkar & Nehra(?) for the other pacer's spot).. On the batting side, it just proves what we realze everytime we go to SA, WI, Aus or NZ - some of our big heroes in the subcontinent are simply pathetic their application & tecnique in that environment. Look at our tour history for the past decade, do u see any consistent batsmen.. well yes, Tendulkar & Dravid.. that's what makes them truly great. Dhoni's knock in the 3rd ODI is really promising in this regard.. Raina, unable to replicate his fireworks in WI & SA (may be he has a last chance) may need to give way to a more solid batsman like Laxman? Clearly, there are a few batting slots up for grabs.. Mongia, Kaif, Raina, Laxman, Jaffer - let the best prevail.
With these bunch of losers aka suckers, world cup is simply a distant dream for us. We only pray that they hold fort and our pride by atleast winning against Canada, Holland, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. No one is going to turn our fortunes in 6 months.
Its pathetic to see the Indian lineup fail again and again. I think its time for a change... any change at that would be welcome. Its time to let go and bring some fresh blood, Shegwag, Kaif definitely need to go. They have done nothing at all in the last 10 - 20 tries. How long I ask how long will India keep giving these players a chance? If it was any other team in the world, they would be long gone with no chance of a parole. Chappell is another question mark? Ask yourselves, what has he done since taking over? Its time for some serious thinking for India.
This is the best team: 1) Shewag/Goutham Gambir 2) Sachin 3) Laxman (He is the best on Bouncy wicket, I know many selecters doesn\'t want him) 4) Dravid (CAPATAIN SIR NEVER EVER CHANGE SHEWAG FROM OPENING SLOT) 5) Yuvi/Kaif/Ganguly (Can be given a chance again now instead of Raina) 6) Dhoni 7) Pathan 8) Zaheer 9) Harbajan 10)Agarkar 11)Munaf/Kumble?sreesanth
Please TRASH the following Players: 1) Dinesh Mongia (Please let him to play for County and stay in UK good for Indian Cricket) 2)Suresh Raina (let him prove himself in Domestic Cricket) 3) Wasim Jaffer (Unfit for onedays) 4) How can be Dinesh Kartik be a replacement for YUVI,I cannot understand
