Dravid

Too much praise can be - and will be - anyone's undoing. Dravid the wall, Dravid the invincible, Dravid this Dravid that... hold on guys, he is human! No doubt he has loads of problems with key players like Sehwag and Tendulkar failing yet again, but he hasn't been flawless either! No one seems to remember the huge blunder of opting to field after winning the toss! If we lose the match - and the satge seems set for it - this decision will have had a huge role to play, make no mistake. And what use of a wall that crumbles so soon after getting a fifty? Continue heaping praise on him ignoring his shortcomings as a captain - and his total inability to accelerate the innings - which undoubtedly cost us the first match - and he will soon go the way of Ganguly!

Give the guy a break man! He's the only one scoring and you target him as the reason for losing. I agree that lavishing praises is not the way to go, but he is the best we have. You gotta agree. And about the decision to bowl first, look at the bigger picture, which here is that the final days play will have India chasing 250-300 odd runs (ideally) in 70-80 odd overs, which is a good practise setup for a one day chase. Chasing is something India is considered to be weak at.The bigger picture here is the World Cup 07. Ciao

Everyone has certain shortcomings. But we praise people for their abilities, their abilities will cover their disabilities. Dravid, is the man who is making the side stable and together. He is slow, but he is contributing. Sehwag, he is fast but not stable. When team in bad situation, dravid goes more into the shell and demolish the attack with his defence. Look at dhoni, he is real demolisher with the attacking form of game. Even he failed to score more than the rate of 50%. Dravid is slow. This is not a recent change happened to him. That is his trademark. Thats the way he make runs and he is continuing it well without fail. Praise them when they deserve it. A clap at the time of achievement will only boost the man.

So let us back the side. To make them reach new heights. The decision to feild first was not a big mistake. But the way we fieled in the first innings was. This is not the mistake of single person. It is of the team. Whole team and let them improve it. The new lads coming to the ground seems to be better. let them mature and the side become stronger.....

Every one talks about Dravid opting to bowl ,trying to utilise the conditions and get some early wickets. It could also be a negative ploy.Thinking about the fraility of the Indian top order against the likes of Hoggard,Flintoff et al, he opted to bowl first!!

What do you mean by the sentence. Go the way of Ganguly. There can be no comparison between Dravid and Ganguly for the simple reason that Dravid has that determination to stay at the wicket which is most helpful in test matches.

I doubt if you watch sufficient cricket to understand this fact that for the past many tests from many a tricky situation Dravid has saved the Indian team the blushes.

Maybe you should check up on your statistics before commenting about Dravid going Ganguly's way.

I fully agree that Sachin and Sehwag should be dropped and this dropping should not be permanent. There should be permanent 20 members for team India for a particular period and playing members should be chosen if they perform consistently. At present Laxman and any other opener should occupy in their places
