Come on Sachin !!!! Come on Shewag !!!

Come on Dravid !!!

Buck up !!! and prove to each Indian that you guys are the Idols for the youth of our Great nation.

Don't give scope to Political Jokers like Rajnath singh of BJP who the otherday was expressing his doubt as to who need to be the Idols for the Indian youth.

Any case that guy doesn't realise they are setting bad examples for youth in Politics.....at least in some field(no matter even if it is Cricket) show your contribution that "for India We Care and we Are There!!!"

We know that u guys are leading from the FRONT!!!

Rajeev
Sachin & Sehwag
by Rajeev on Mar 20, 2006 06:29 PM

I think Sachin and Sehwag should be rested for some matches. When old man like Kumble and new guns like Sreesanth can bat why cannot these seasoned stars. Whats wrong with them.
Concentration is missing.

To really look forward ...
by Kalarab Ray, Kolkata, India on Mar 20, 2006 06:12 PM

Excepting Dravid, and to some extent Yuvraj, no other Indian batsman is there in the test team because of their form and/or performance and attitude.

Jaffer deserves more opportunities to allow him a longer run before making a long-term decision.

Sehwag doesn't seem to learn (and our coach & selectors, for last six months, have been pointing out Ganguly as the only bad apple). May be someone like Gambhir (or Robin Uthappa or Shikhar Dhawan) should be tried out now.

Tendulkar has been reduced from a champion to an enigma (and our coach and selectors have singled out Ganguly for being inconsistent).

Laxman has always been and continues to be an enigma. Wish he could acquire some toughness from Kumble.

Kaif definitely deserves to be in the team. Even if that requires Tendulkar to go for a forced-vacation for some time.

Why not try this (for a 5-batsman combination):
Jaffer, Gambhir, Dravid, Kaif, Yuvraj

In case of a 6-batsman combination, try this:
Jaffer, Gambhir, Dravid, Laxman, Yuvraj, Kaif

Keep guys like Uthappa / Dhawan, Raina as back-up options.

Also, group past-the-best masters like Tendulkar, Ganguly, Sehwag in a 'waiting list'.

Indian-England Cricket
by T.P. Viswanathan on Mar 20, 2006 05:59 PM

One thing that irritates both the players and the fans is cheating by the very same people who are supposed to be fair, impartial and consistent. When the entire commentary box was unanimous that Udal was out caught behind by faintest of nick, the men in white coat felt otherwise. Srinath said technonogy is a slave, I would say technology is an ass! This way, the men in white coate, whom the cricket management world over consider as beyond mistake, will kill the game.

In my opinion Sehwag & Tendulkar should be rested for a few matches to enable them to gain confidence.Australia and England this practice when they rest their top players. No hue and cry should be made

Indian Innings
by partha biswas on Mar 20, 2006 04:43 PM

Whatever may be the outcome of this test,Shewag MUST be dropped for ever.He has made NO contribution to Indias victory in the earlier test. The credit goes to Dravid and the OTHER players who BOWLED and Batted in Indias First Innings then.
Shewag has showed his TOTAL lack of cricketing maturity, and it is NOT correct that Dravid HAS to always really play an openers Innings.Sachin also has NOT played well, but lets not forget that he has had a VERY long rest period on account of his injury. But Shewag has ONLY proven again and again that he is NOT a cricketer who has the capability to really give a start to India.Look at Dhoni. He also hits, but at the same time plays a game that the situation demands.Do you have it in you to step down and give better players than you a chance.

I agree with u friend. Its time BCCI offered a paid vacation to Sachin and Sehwag so that they leave some space for youngsters in the final 11. whoever performs consistently should represent the country not some one who makes a 200 + score once in 6 months and rests the remaning 5 months.
