You press are full of nuts !!!!!!!!!!
by Ujjwal Mazumder on Jan 14, 2006 01:45 PM

Today's TOI carries a front page article on this subject wherein according to the corepondent from what he surmised from what he made of the huddle that Ganguly animated, gesticulated, agitated, demanded and even forced his way to take the opening slot and the TOI report further continues to say that the problem arose - or the big talk took place -because Dravid offered to open, jsut like he had done against Sri Lanka in teh Delhi test !!!!!!!!!

Now your report says just the 180 degree diametrically opposite things that Ganguly refused to open and Raj Singh said to him whatever he did and all that crap !!

Press guys, you make up your mind before you start speculating on what goes on what you don't yourself get to know about.... you hv no bloody business to mislead public opinion with your own masala, wild imagination !!!!

And above all, be that as it may, why you guys r making such a huge fuss about Ganguly - who is he ?? Is he some super human being that u guys spend so much time on ..... it's a sick feeling to keep hearing Ganguly episodes, the only thing that one hears anyway today, as far as Indian cricket goes .... !!! Absolute waste of time !!!!!!!!

Ganguly is not a team man
by Mash on Jan 14, 2006 01:01 PM

I think Ganguly is not a team man. Remember when dravid was asked to keep the wickets by Ganguly he did it for the sake of the team. Like that if the captian asks any member should play in the slot given. I would suggest We should not sacrifies Indian victories for a past performer who is absolutly unfit to keep even fielding ability.
So first 11 should be selected without Ganguly. Then let him see how others dedicately work hard for the team

He cannot refuse. This is the acme of his arrogance.
by chanakya on Jan 14, 2006 12:50 PM

The team is like a cabinet, and the captain like a PM.

In the same manner that a PM has the prerogative to drop any member of the cabinet with the batting of an eyelid, the captain of a cricket team can drop any player for not obeying instructions.

Rahul and Greig must ask for a replacement.

Immediately.

And Sourav should be ordered to return immediately and to promptly appear before the Board, in camera, and be summarily dismissed.

Sourav is under a false notion that he is a Bengal tiger.

Untamebale.

He has not insulted just Rahul, but he has insulted the entire cricket loving population of Bharat Varsh, and that too on the grounds of a neighbouring enemy.

His behaviour with Rahul was as if he belonged to the naapaak team.

This is not only unacceptable but also intolerable to the people of Bharat Varsh.

He must be promptly dismissed.

Yes.

Promptly.

The quick and summary dismissal would be fully justified.

Even his fans would consent.

He has challenged the authority of a captain representing Bharat Varsh.

He has invited his own dismissal.

Dare to make him open?
by N V Krishnan on Jan 14, 2006 12:28 PM

With so much support from different places, it is but natural for Ganguly to put his foot down and refuse to open or do as he wishes. The unprecedented manner in which the demands were put forward by the people of Bengal, politicians in Delhi, cricket fans etc., in order to include him in the team, had in fact swollen the ex-skippers head. He was quite convinced that he was free to do anything he wanted.

If this is the way outsiders are going to interfere with the matters related to the cricket sports in India, GOD alone can save our team from losing our face.

Having Ganguly in the Team is bad news. He has a negative attitude and is a bad influence on the team. It is already showing. He must be taken out ASAP

Poor Ganguly...
by Dr. S.S. Bakshi on Jan 14, 2006 11:56 AM

Why cant they let him decide how he wants to play? and we can always threaten to break off diplomatic relations with Pakistan if Shoiab Akhtar is called to bowl at him isnt it..dada somnath chaterjee will lead a chorus of bengali MP'S to pass such a resolution in parliament and Saurav can return home to a hero's welcome. Mera bengal (oops bharat) mahaan.

Do you think this helps ?
by Harinath on Jan 14, 2006 11:52 AM

Do you think this kind of journalism helps ? Aint tired of Sourav baiting ?

Whatever, Yuvraj too has been an opener. Pathan too. Leave it to the team think tank to decide, instead of starting such unhealthy debates. It doesnt help india as team or a country. I guess people who played cricket at that level, know it better than all of us
