Sachin's record will not be broken atleast for one more century, after that none of us will be able to witness anything else.

Sachin....
by Srini on Jan 11, 2006 05:59 PM

Many are jumping to conclusions, after recent Australia South Africa series. The SA spin attack is one of the poorest in world, hence ponting may not be a great batsman against quality spin attack (either India, Pak or Sri Lanka)

Brian Lara is the man
by thirumalesh on Jan 11, 2006 05:56 PM

Brian Lara will be and should be the man to break the highest century records. As Brian will be chasing the 12 double centuries of Don Bradman breaking the century record will be much easier for the great man.
I wish Brian all the best and thank him for the timeless and priceless clasics he produced.
I also request people to not to talk about brians retairement as he has no plans retaire at the moment and he will carry on after the 2007 world cup also.
That is sure. So please dont talk abt. his retairement

sachin is history
by d.mukherjee on Jan 11, 2006 05:50 PM

Gone are the days when that little fellow used to hit sixes. He is just a family man now with lots of money.Instead of Ganguly he should have been given a break.Sachin is history for Indian cricket.

Eclipsing Sachin
by Raj Krishnamurthy on Jan 11, 2006 05:48 PM

No player can be the greatest ever unless that sport is played no longer. As Sachin eclipsed so many records on his way to the top, so will another player overtake Sachin. Though he is a great player he cannot(none in fact) can be the greatest-ever in any game. Pete Sampras and now Roger Federer are two good examples.

Tendulkar is still young
by deepak on Jan 11, 2006 05:18 PM

He should retire: What he would do with so much money when he has so many injuries and leg breaks?
Its time to sit at home and watch cricket on TV.
Ofcourse drinking PEPSI and BOOST together.

Young people should get chance as 10dulkar got when he was young.

tough to break...
by Sree on Jan 11, 2006 04:30 PM

Remember guys when sachin was at 26-27 centuries they were talking the same way about sachin as they are talking about ponting now. Ponting is going through a purple patch right now and that too at home. It will pass and then he will look mortal and maybe he'll also take an year to go from 32 to 33 or something... :).

Remember they said some very similar things about gilchrist last year too ... and this year he had an abysmal year.... speculation on this is useless.... sachin might come into form over the next year and ponting might not...

Ricky Poting is the person most likely to surpass Sachin
by Jayaraj Y on Jan 11, 2006 04:15 PM

Looking at the recent past and the performance of Ricky Ponting I strongly feel that Ponting has a better prospect to surpass Sachin.

Being a diehard fan of Sachin I am very much confident that he will take this as a challenge that Ponting is chasing him and will come up with a bang.

But we need to accept the fact that every century by Ricky Ponting is a match winning performance unlike Sachin.

Whoever might be the person who sets upa record we should aprreciate the fact that they are ticking Cricket to new levels.

It won't be broken in recent future at all.
by anshu on Jan 11, 2006 04:07 PM

Well, I don't think tendulkar's record will be smashed soon.. and i really don't see how can people even imagine dravid or gilly doing it..maybe ricky..but then sachin is going to play till he plays, he may narrow down the gap but cant smash the record.Sachin will hace 50 centuries before he retires.I don't see how some one reaches that landamrk atleast in a decade.
