Kiran More's blah blah
by CS Behera on Feb 08, 2006 12:52 PM

The very fact that a person of his calibre or rather lack of it gets selected to be the Chairman committee for cricket crazy and savvy nation like India speaks a lot of his political connections and manipulative abilities even if he denies any such influence.

The fact that he did not find anything wrong with our bowling attack (or should we call defence)speaks volume of his ignorance or lack of foresight. He doesn't have a definite plan for World Cup 2007 which is apparent from his interview.

His remarks on Sachin or Ganguly is schoolboyish and naive.

With a person like him at the helm of Cricketing affairs it is as good as not having a Chairman at all.God save Indian cricket !!!

Thanks
CS Behera

present Indian Team
by Vallabha on Feb 08, 2006 12:08 PM

Dear Sir,

The present Indian Team are doing good under the leadership of Dravid but dravid needs guidance and selection committee should include Gangully in Indian team so that he can guide dravid as and when he requires.

Re: More is an absolute Moron

I am greatly concrened about the views put up by Mr More.First of all lets face it there is tremendous pressure being a national selector and secondly chairing the selection committee ( contrary to mr more's statement there was no presurre and he has got enough experience. We all know how Mr More Rediculed himself in press meeting by saying ganguly was selected as allrounder latter having to take back his words saying ganguly was selected as batting allrounder who can bowl.
He seems to be quite happy with Indian performance in the recently concluded test series and finds no fault in india team.Instead of accepting the fact that India needs to improve its game he is all praise for kamram akmal. Is it really More's job to praise Kamran Akmal or is it a cover up for india's performance.I think Mr more is clueless and needless to say visionless just making the beaurocrats happy.
More dosent find anything wrong with indian bowling . I agree there is nothing drastic wrong with it but there is lot required and even chappel agrees india is lacking a genuine fast bowler.
Regarding Sachin and Ganguly Mr more says Leave them alone. Ganguly is already "left alone" courtosy Mr More & Co

Being Safe
by Supreo on Feb 08, 2006 11:35 AM

Mr. Kiran More would do better if he's firm about his actions then his words. Here in the interview he sounds pretty poised, but last time seen on TV just before the Indian team left for Pakistan, he seemed to be the biggest bum in the selection panel.
He's wisdom of having selected Wasim Jaffer for the last test and then also for the Pak tour where the lad never got a chance is just to say that he has no plans to carry forward.
Also, in the interview he says he's happy with our bowling. It certainly surprises me that our bunch of medium pacers are still a far cry from being the top guns in the industry. Else why an old horse like McGrath is still the top man? It sure means that we are not grooming/encouraging our bowlers. Once Kumble is gone (very soon I guess) then we are at sea to find another leggie (for that matter any spinner.)
So Mr. More, get acting then sitting pretty by the ring-side.

Leave him alone
by Guna on Feb 08, 2006 11:34 AM

Nobody will talk about Sachin if hes away from the Indian cricket team. How Kiran More can say that leave him alone. Every one knows that Sachin is a player who plays for himself. Indian public have right to question him so long he is in Indian cricket. In previous match India was in such a strong position and lost the match only due to Sachins poor scoring rates. Being a great player he must come forward and give up his place in Indian cricket team to some young talent.

Double Standards
by Kapil Khattar on Feb 08, 2006 11:30 AM

Sachin is great and there is no gainsaying that. I love and admire the man for his skills.

But when Ganguly was going through similar lean patch, this very More was after him. Why didn't he say the very same words that he has said for tendulkar. rather India's most successful captain was dropped.

All of this just reeks of politics and one upmanship.

He's a pain

You can guage what kind of a person one is through his facial expression and body langauge. I saw Mr.More in the Kolkotta match against SA and when he came on the big screen and the crowd ridiculed him (obviously for dropping Ganguly) his expression was nothing short of a Hindi film villain who when caught is trying to conceal by acting super cool.
Just read his interview. Dhoni is good. Bowlers are good. Sachin is good. India is good. Cricket is good. I am good. Pakistan is good.
Boring fellow!

You must be joking
by Amit Phatak on Feb 08, 2006 11:08 AM

If Kiran More thinks that there is nothing wrong with our bowling attack, I think Indian Cricket is headed for doom. If he is defending our bowlers performance in the Karachi Test I think he must be hallucinating. If he thinks that the selectors are doing their job by selecting a player like Murali Kartick who has no skills he must introspect. Murali Kartick is not fit even for first class cricket.
