Hi

It's been good to Cricketers, since rules should be common for all the contries who are playing cricket. This will lesson for other countries especially non asian countries.

Pakistan's Dissent
by Ramje on Aug 24, 2006 04:44 PM

Hi,

Pakistan's dissent was not justified. They have a pretty bad history of ball tampering in the past. If they were not guilty then they should have played and expressed protest to the icc. About umpire Darell Hair being ridiculed by all and sundry, its unfair to single out him. The view expressed by some that he is a racist is ridiculous as i feel even in murali incident he was pretty right. Remember India never had any major problem with his umpiring or his conduct of the game.

Right Hair
by mohan on Aug 24, 2006 02:27 PM

Dear,

Absolutely ! Hair and the other gentlemen was right and well within their limit when they reaacted to the situation. Pak. , for that matter , no other team , can stay away from the filed , whatever the reason. If Mr. Hair felt that the ball has been damaged and it is unusually moving around he can act.Other things like he should have come back when Pak. team agreed to resume is all political. Noway they hsouldhave succumbed to such tactics, even if it it any other team.

thanks

Mohan

Umpires too need a check.
by Babu on Aug 24, 2006 02:15 PM

hello every body,

My opinion in this issue is 50-50.Haq should not have stayed in the dressing room along with his team. The match was over at that point itself. He should have come to the field and discussed with the umpires.Hair was correct in awarding 5 runs to england. There is no need for a neutral umpire to favour either of the team. But umpires too need a check. They are also human beings prone to error. If a umpire rules a batsman out, when he is not out or rules him not out when he is out, they are playing with the players' career.Players should be allowed to file a complaint with ICC.For solving these kind of disputes ICC may constitute a separate enquiry committee.Afterall the viewers should not be deprived of a good cricket. It it is Dean Jones, another Australian, last month this month Darell Hair. These things are part and parcel of any game.Players should not get carried over by this and should continue playing the game in true spirt. The cricket lovers world wide are in support of the Players.Because they are the real Heroes and they do not come to the stadium for seeing the umpires or selectors or any other thing. Thanks for rediff.com for giving me this space

We want everything to go our way.
by Neo on Aug 24, 2006 02:08 PM

Hi Guys,

According to me, Darrell Hair is a very good umpire. He has been right, most of the times, while giving his decisions. Although, on this particular occasion he didnot handle the situation well. And guys stop criticising him for being racist, and the pakistan team for being cheats. He has been doing his job on the field for which we should appreciate him.

We want everything to go according to our wishes. If he had done this to the Australian Team, you would've been like - finally we've an umpire who's neutral. Also, every issue need not be made political. It's been interesting to see how some of you go off topic and discuss about politics and colour of the skin and what not. Whereas, on this particular occasion we are dealing with an incident which has not been handled correctly.

If I've been harsh I am sorry, but I think I have made my point :).

Take Care!

Hair
by mkumar on Aug 24, 2006 12:51 PM

You are wrong Hair was on the left side of Australia and not on the right side and he was also on the white side only as so far he not able point out any white players on the wrong side of law either the white palyers are gods make no mistakes or Hair is colour blind doesn't see the whites at all,et hi only decide what is true?

Any ICC is one step ahead to explain that the umpires folowed the rule as if rules are only ment for player to follow and not by umpires or ICC.Why didn't Mr Hair explianed or discussed his sccussion with accussed? In Imran Khan's words even Hilter was was more fair than Mr Hair.Heir is proving to be the Hair raining experience for Asian/ Carrabian countries.

Who cares the criket itself should be banned as it is hairy or hair raising or removing affair.

by Rajanikanth on Aug 24, 2006 10:46 AM

I think there is no rule...that empire can't take decision on ball tampering.

Nothing wrong in following the rules...
