It is absolutely shameful to a person holding such a respectable position. He should be warned not to behave in such an ugly manner. He must apologize otherwise should be removed from the post.
I feel that rather than asking Chappel any clarification, its the Eden Garden crowd that should be penalised. We should stop having any international games at this venue henceforth. This is not the first time that something like this has happened at this venue. I feel Kolkatta crowd sucks.
I think too much is being made out of Chappell's gesture by the media. It is a total non-issue. Who is Kirti Azad - to talk about Indian culture. Booing the captain, setting fire to the stands or throwing stuff on to the field to disrupt the game when we are losing is not our culture either - but it happens. Its part of the game.
Ok, chap is wrong...Is the people of Kolkata are so good and cultured? Is this the way to treat our Home team? 70,000 thousand audience jeering against our National team!!!!!! Any person will burst at this situation. Match should not be conducted In Kolkata for their indecent behavior. We had many great players being neglected from the side when thier time gets over. This is not the way to express their feeling against a foriegn Coach, who wants to promote our National team. Let him to do his work. We've seen many coaches who maintained our team to compete in the matches( Except 1983 & 2004). But Greg wants to make India a supreme power in world cricket . Maybe his attitude, be new to our cricketers, but they have to adjust with it. By having a poor selection Committee we lost the pride of our Hockey team.... Don't repeat the same with our cricket team.... Give respect to Talent and form, not on their past records, and their image.
Earlier it was Greg Chappell's 'underarm' (remember him instructing his brother Trevor to bowl underarm to avoid defeat against New Zealand in an ODI !).
Now it's his 'finger'.
How dare Mr Chappell show such signs in public to Indian cricket fans while occupying the official position of the Team Coach !
Is he not covered by any Code of Conduct of ICC or BCCI ? I wonder what would have happened if any Indian cricketer did the same in public (remember how Indian cricketers have repeatedly been reprimanded / fined by Match Referees all over the world during the last few years !).
It's high time that his employers (yes Mr Chappell is EMPLOYED by the BCCI through a contract) tell him in no uncertain terms to behave himself, at least in public ! Nobody, including Mr Chappell (like Sourav Ganguly) is above the rules !!
We want our cricketers to learn cricketing skills from Greg, and not such obscenities.
I don't understand why these so called yesteryear heroes are coming up with statements against our new coach, who is doing a wonderfully great job as our team coach. Tell me dear.. Can we call booing act towards our own players as our Indian Culture. Forget that.. how many times we have seen our own players showing the so called foreign culture against foreign players in the ground. The best example for that is our Dada's shirt act in England. Are we used to that act. So please leave all these unwanted controversies and cheer for our team. There is nothing wrong in his act; even if he had really shown it to a croud who is against the country. So my point is...

hey!
why are you reacting so much???
Everything is fare in the game.If kolkatta public can misbehave with the indian team for no genuine reason then it is natural for any sportsmen with self esteem to behave like what chappel did.
JUST RELAX!!!HE HIS DOING A GREAT JOB WITH TEAM INDIA.

These bongs don't care if Greg does a great job - so long as they can have their rossogolla and ilish maach, and their Ganguly daada is the team captain - never you mind if Ganguly uses his position to decide when and where to bat depending on if Shane Bond or Mahwire is bowling !! Ha ! HA ! HA!
India exists only in Geography books - the people who the World call Indians - are hopelessly divided, parochial and divided on regional, caste and religious lines. Mera Bharat Pareshan! Which is why it takes a "white skin" to feel enough for the team to show the finger.
