My friend, Ganguly was not removed because of politics. He was removed for his poor performance and for being an incapable captain.

You are completely wrong. Ganguly was removed from the national side due to some indecent politics of Kiran More, Ravi Shastri, Chappell and Dravid

According to me a person of Greg's stature should have not behaved in that manner, because that is what makes a different b/w common ppl and some one like Greg. But the response of the Eden crowd shows how narrow-minded Kolkatans are, in last couple of months they just behaved like an illiterate fellow.

Now its ur turn u moron
by P. Fernandes on Nov 28, 2005 12:28 PM
In the first place you are a moron and a hypocrite. Have you checked the authenticity of the rumour. We are all well aware that becos ganguly does not deserve a place in the team how our cricket team members were jeered at the eden gardens and we are all well aware how the bengalis are known to screw other peoples happiness by planting stories. Do your proper introspection before passing comments on rumours

I think you are all over-reacting. Chappell - if at all he has shown the finger - has shown it to the most unsporting section of the Kolkatta crowd - which actually booed the captain, and cheered the South Africans. So much so that an Indian player remarked - he would be glad to get back to India in the next match. The Kolkatta crowd (part of it) has shown itself to be most parochial, regional, and unpatriotic - and if Chappel has shown them the finger - I think he has been very mild. The BCCI should show some spine in banning all matches in Eden Gardens for the next ten years. Surely, Indian pride is more important than Kolkattan "Ganguly" pride.

It is a pity that a cricketing legend like Chappell chose to express his anger by raising his middle finger. May be he would do the same to his Aussie friends and in front of the media, and our Kangaroo buggers will still cheer him. Who Knows?

Three things are clear

- Legend doesnt mean anything. You come from Aussie and you still behave like a primitive moron. Too bad Greg boy, manners still hasnt reached you yet or your part of the world. What nerve??

- Indian Cricket board is without backbone. Will the board do anything else next to condemning his behavior? Till date nobody from the Board critcised him. Members of the board, please decide victory/good show at the world cup is important but is it okay to have it at the cost of your own pride. MORONS!!!!

- Why doesn't the mainstream media (news media) cover this issue? Isnt there no censorship to how a man behaves in public OR wait, the feeling is this is India and anything will happen - is that right? Shame on the media.

Narrow mindness of Kalcutta crowd
by Prabhakar on Nov 27, 2005 10:46 PM

It is shame taht Indian crowd at Kalcutta not supporting Indian team. We hear such a thing from Pakistanis but even those behaved very well when we visted Pakistan. This shows the mean mentality and this happend just becase Ganguly is not team. If this state happening in other parts of India, can Gaungly stand to it ? I support Greg Chappel and the Ganguly's fans deservs it.

Well, if the cricket fans of India can boo & jeer the cricketer's of India, then they can take the finger too. Chappell did not ask any one to come and take the finger, these idoits went to him asking for it!

What chappell did might be wrong in an Indian scenario but we cant even support the Kolkatan crowd. They are the most ill behaved crowd in India and its been proved n number of times. BCCI should ban Eden garden venue for future fixtures. And coming to sourav, he should know his capabilities and accept the fact that he is not a flaboyant batsman anymore and should be prepared to whatever comes in his way. Dada Ki bolta Hai?
