Its captains responsibility and he did not have the will or self confidence to advise dravid,sachin or laxman, go out and paly for your country's hanour by playing bals on merit and scoring constantly not plodding or respecting bowlers abilities to such an extent that likes of dravid/sachin gave viwers again the view has the match been fixed yet again? how can one plod defensively when runs like singles were not taken. available for the asking, ask king batsman kumble!!!shame on the captain and the seniors, how can you play defensively when you know that by doing so you give bowlers bearing and rhythm to play like champions and your team to club level novice like feeling!!!come on you cant give excuses for playing like kids even if you have scored tons in all previous tests, as each test is a test for nations supremacy...did you forget that????
Came the day 7th Dec, 2003.. a magnificient century by a visting team's captain set the pace of the game against the best team in their court yard.. applauds from all around the globe to the PRINCE OF CALCUTTA! Excellent... for 15 months since then, not even a single 3 digit score and even then some one says wot the heck..y bugging sourav... he has proved that he is a world class batsmen.... well! gimme a break.. Is that a grammatical mistake or an illogical.. Shouldn't Vinod Kambli be still playing for his abundant talent.. shouldnt Jadeja still be playing, Shouldnt.. haa.. the list it endless folks... May be its time to correct those above sentences some one said... Sourav had proved definitely.. and that made me one of his die hard fan, for his glorious off side game.. but then.. its been past! Name a player from the ages who had a bad patch for 15 months n still could find a place in the Indian Cricket team.. then y this undue privilege to Sourav..ask him to go back to domestic games.. score tons of runs to show that he still has the burning apetite.. , great atricle , but one has to think about the WALL Rahul Dravid . Shewag got good quick runs but test match concerns more about winning the game not scoring quick runs . Anyways Viru's effort has to be applauded. but what this Laxman doing in the team , players like kaif and yuvraj or even me(lol) can perform atleat at one point if so called selectors give em' chance continouslyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy...................... Laxman has to be kicked out for ever and ever .......................
the main problem with the indian team is the attitude,chasing 350 runs with 10 wickets in hand and with players like sachin,rahul & laxman is not a big deal. sachin puts himself under unwanted pressure,if he would have played his natural game,we would have won this match,he has the potential to win matches even under pressure. ganguly should be removed from the test team itself & we should have two teams,one for onedays & other for test,one can be a great player in test match but he cannot be put in onedayers,i personaly expect a change in the team selection and also in captaincy.
In world all team capatain doing a well batting.I think Ganguly last 2003 only he performance is good.After 2 yrs he is done Zero only.So i think Dravid only the suitable for Captain.
I was at the stadium and i was there all 5days. It was the worst feeling to watch 20-30paki spectators cheering "Pakistan Jeetega" and the rest of the 30,000 indian spectators having nothing to say to them !
The only thing left for me to believe was that this 'friendship' series was fixed. And my point will be reiterated when they expectedly finish the one day series 3-3 !
The previous day on NDTV bob woolmer was being interviewed and our man Sidhu insulted him and poked and prodded him with his repetitive and pathetically boring sidhuisms. Only to see on the next day that her had to eat his own words on national TV.
The only redeeming factor of the whole test match for me was the defiant and aggressive innings of none other than Virender Sehwag.
I'm never ever going to watch another Test match / match live. Its a sheer waste of time and money. Because at the end of the day the crowd was booing the indian captain and cheering the pakistani captain ! who wants to pay good money to go see that !
i dont understand y everyone is bugging saurav! he proved many a times that he is the world class batsman and one of the best captians any country had. This is rude from the part of media to give such comments on ganguly.Believe me in next series he will come up with a bang to SHUT all big mouths.

Everyone is bugging him because he has become a liability. Moreover a batsman can have a lean patch for being outof form which will be short. here we see a case of a batsman being in form for short periods and having a lean patch majority of the times
Prem, As usual you are again wrong. To score 353 runs on the fifth day wicket, you need a batsman of the caliber of Sehwag, Gilchrist, Afridi, Viv Richards, Bradman or Sobers. Inspite of all the hype around his class, Sachin has never done such a thing. So after Sehwag is gone, the team concluded that we can not win the match and need to defend. Right or wrong that was the decission. But there is a huge in your article. One to conclude that Sehwag is the only batsman is wrong. You are forgetting another man who has done every time Sehwag has failed and has also done it every time Sehwag has scored.
