harbhajan's action..
by rajesh seetharaman on Mar 22, 2005 03:59 AM

hello all,
i think the broad's decision to report on bhajji has been absolutely ridiculous especially after it came in the wake of india's fantastic win in kolkata.i think bhajji's action is perfect in every sense and it has just been cleared by ICC.

Yes, he was unfair

It was not only unfair on his part, but was also rediculous. How could he ignore the recent report submitted by the biomechanics in Australia? If his action is suspected again now, what is the point in clearing him less than a month ago?

bajji's doosra

It's been a painful career for harbhajan singh, the turbonator who gave his best to his country time and again and yet never complained abt the raw treatment he got from cricketing bosses..He first breezed into the indian side at the age of 17 and quickly hogged limelight..but was banished for suspect action.. though crestfallen he bounced back with a bang and been a regularity with indian side.. oflate he is being repeatedly called for chucking for bowling 'doosra', his trumpcard.. With ICC relaxing rules & biomechanics clearing bajji, it is unfortunate and absurd to again report bajji for throwing.. All asian players seem to suffer the same plight..

there must be a mechanism and modus operandi to which all umpires and referees discharge their duties..They cannot jeopardise the careers of young men in the name of racial bias or in trying to prove as to who r the bosses.. BAN BRETT LEE BEFORE U DEMAND FOR bajji's BLOOD...

every body know that india rules cricket with the money power it has, thats why harbhajan enjoys bowling with suspect action where as shoib malik is banned without opportunity, ganguly ban is reversed.

nobody can bowl doosra without bending arm, it is as simple as that. i feel sorry for genuine spinners like warne, kumble, vettori who are deadly with legitimate bowling.

moreover it is ascertained that harbhajan is a ordinary bowler without doosra. why cant he take wickets with his off spinners.

i m a former state level player with off spin my forte.

i m trying to be fair without being bias.

Ias the board members are fools
by kishore on Mar 22, 2005 02:26 AM

After bajji is cleared that his action is perfect how can they can question him so early even before 18 days the umpires have reported to the board saying that his action has some fault .

In this case either the board members are unfit because they do not how to identify a person whether he his bowling with a wrong action or not and also umpires m,ainly stevebuckonor has no right to question on this aspect he has personal hatred towards Indians that is the reason he is been acting in this way and also the board have to make such changes that once the player is been entering he has to be tested with his bowling action and then he should be given place in the internaitonal stage then there would not be any problem.

Harbhajan's suspect bowling action...
by B VENU MADHAV on Mar 22, 2005 01:24 AM

It is unfair upon the part of "match referees' to discourage young guns such as 'Bhajji'.

At young age, these many hurdles may demoralize the efforts of the players.

Harbhajan is just cleared by ICC for the same DOOSRA then, how come Match referee question the same again and again... if so, where is the value for ICC and its certification ????

quite distressing indeed...

wishing the 'live wire' all the very best...

It is totally unfair after bajji was cleared by the ICC of suspect action before the series against pakistan.

NO.
by Duttdip on Mar 22, 2005 12:51 AM

We can't say Broad was unfair just because our emotions are deluged with nationalism...

Think with a clear head- it is one thing to bowl in an artificial testing arena knowing fully well that you are being watched/tested. It is a different ballgame to bowl in a tensely poised match situation, where unknowingly one may be striving for something extra and inadvertantly crossing the limits..

Umpires are the best judge of what's going on in the middle and if they thought Bajji needs to be reported, that's it...One cannot use the previous ICC clearing like a School leaving certificate and violate once in a while..

Bhajji vs Broad
by Navin on Mar 22, 2005 12:32 AM

Broad was the same refree who called Bhajji the last time he played Test Cricket against Bangaldesh. Then he went to get "fixed" by the Biomech expert Bruce E. He comes back and guess who is the Refree. It is good old Broad. Well I think this is a case of obfuscation if the ICC okays but its offical does not. Ashish Magotra's column hit the nail square on the head.

The law is the problem
by Hari on Mar 22, 2005 12:06 AM

When you leave it to judgement, there can be opinions.
Why should we have the chucking law in place with nos, its either you chuck or you dont. So If Bhajji is chucking while bowling the doosra, ban him from bowling that delivery...
Also how can one be sure that while bowling the same action before the bio-mechanics, he bends the arm to the same extent as he does while bowling in matches...

So the only soln is ban chucking, and bring normal cricket in...
enjoy
