broad very narrow minded

It is shocking that bhajji has been called a "chucker" ,only days after being cleared by the ICC.
Two bowlers reported for suspect actions muralitharan & harbhajan have one thing in common, apart from the
fact that they are from the subcontinent. Chris Broad has been the match referee on all occassions in the recent past when these bowlers have been called .Does this mean broad disagrees with the ICC since it cleared bhajji . Then what's the whole point of the remedy drama?

Absolutely unfair
by Adhitya on Mar 22, 2005 12:33 PM

I believe it was really unfair to call Bajji's bowling action suspect, especially after being given a clean chit by the ICC. If the match refree had a doubt, or had to clear an appeal, then he should first match the ICC ruling details on Bajji, with that of his bowling at Eden and then called for action. Blind rulings could result in making a mockery of the ICC ruling and the ICC itself!

what an eye?
by samit on Mar 22, 2005 12:02 PM

it is a god gift that chris broad can see with a naked eye that nobody can see bajji is bowling 'doosra' which is illegal. my question to broad is where were he when sachin was given out by buchnor which actually to all was not out. is this not his duty? i think when everyone sees he closes his eyes and when nobody sees, he sees. KAASH MERE PAAS BHI AISE AANKHEN HOTE.

both the wickets taken by bajji in the pak 2 innings were of the "doosra",the ICC has every right to keep th game clean and bajji should prove homself right. How come only the sub-continent bowlers are having suspect action?

harbhajan had already been cleared time and time again. I think some people are jealous of the form of indian team nowadays.

Was Broad unfair to Bhajji?
by Akheel Ahmed on Mar 22, 2005 07:24 AM

What the hell can an umpire and a referee can analyse with bare eyes that how much angle a player is bending. In a time when there was only 5 degree bending rule was there then also these umpires reported and now that there is 15 degree bending angle rules is there still these guys are reporting. This shows that these people are just biased to sub-continent players. Moreover Remember DARRELL HAIR, this is the same guy who gave chucking to Murali and Steve Bucknor is no sweat daddy to Indian Players and this is return favour of Chris Broad to Harbhajan for bhajji reacted for his earlier reports. No Surprise to see this in future also.

Its Disgusting

Its disgusting and frustating to see such actions from the supreme authority of Cricket. Match refree should have given a pondering thought before making such remarks. This was the first match for bhajji after biomechanical study was done and the biomechanics team gave clean chit to Bhajji, but match refree chris thinks again....so and so.. Great...
Plz chris be responsible for ur actions it can spoil career of a brilliant player.
No worries Bhajji u will emerge as winner again..

It's the Bucknor Effect
by Dr T S Raman on Mar 22, 2005 12:15 PM
Mr Gurpal Singh, Just keep in mind that the umpires for the match were Daryl Hair (who tried his level best (or "worst") to destroy Muralitharan) and the contemptible Bucknor, who has openly shown his malicious hatred for Indians, especially Tendulkar and Ganguly in all the matches in which India played and he officiated. Even in the Kolkata test, apart from his outrageous decision giving Tendulkar out caught by wicketkeeper, he (along with the other umpire) had also arrogantly refused to listen to Tendulkar's plea on poor light. Neither of the umpires even checked with a light-meter.
I honestly feel someone with the necessary resources should file a public interest petition against Bucknor.

harbhajan's action..
by rajesh seetharaman on Mar 22, 2005 03:59 AM

hello all,
i think the broad's decision to report on bhajji has been absolutely ridiculous especially after it came in the wake of india's fantastic win in kolkata.i think bhajji's action is perfect in every sense and it has just been cleared by ICC.
