Selecting Ganguli in team a perfect for giving honour to senior player. While this is done followings typical guidelines had been sidelined:
1. Kapil who has eqally good record has been ignored by not not including him in team. Is this because harayana is not disturbed?
2. Minority has been sidelined on majority community pressure.
3. No SC/ST player has been given quota as per standard set else where like education, job etc...
4. Handicapped players have never given respect in India squad till now. Hope Somenath Chattergy will do justice to these silent mass.
Let us not forget Cricket represents India in rue sense. We should not play cricket for only winning objective. We should follow certain social responsibility.
:-( Is is not foolish to talk on these line... Why we give this much room to these influential person. Why selection committee in bending to peer pressure?

What is that Magic selector behind Agarkar?
by Sreenivasan Raju Aiyer on Dec 24, 2005 10:32 PM

Everytime the selection committee meets ajit agarkar finds a place within the team although we all know there are better deserving players in the wings like Laxmipati Balaji. This ajit agarkar who hardly scores any runs or takes wickets he is found in all the teams. What is the name of that powerful backer who is able to push in ajit agarkar a looser?

Selection Committe for pakistan tour
by Debkanti Moitra on Dec 24, 2005 10:14 PM

This is the high time, immediately reconstitute the selection committee by putting stalwarts like Pataudi, Kapil Dev, Sunny etc. otherwise please consider my name in place of Kiron Morey. At least I will be able to select a better team than him.

Allow the cricket to breathe fresh air- dont pollute it with politics.

kaif being dropped
by arshad on Dec 24, 2005 10:08 PM

whats the point of having Gautam Gambhir in the team when

there is not much substantial performance from him, have

ganguly open the innings and have kaif in middle order to make a stronger team, i dont understand the rational of these bunch of jokers called selectors

Sourav : Right Decision for Dignified Exit..
by Subhash on Dec 24, 2005 09:09 PM

Sourav's selection in the team for Pakistan indicates that now he can retire gracefully. This is a golden opportunity for him to bid farewell to active cricket and start giving back to the game to encourage new cricketers. He should work on the plan of cricket academy which should produce the cricketers with his winning mindset. Hope he does well in Pakistan and shows to the world that he is a fine cricketer and not a hurt Captain

Cricket

Regarding Ganguly's comeback it is not clear:

Whether without Ganguly the team is not complete.

Can any one be thrown out because Ganguly has to be taken in. What sin Murali Karthik has commited to be

neglected. Is this under some pressure that Ganguly is called in the team and under what merit?

If this is the case of affairs then the value of cricket is sincerely lowered to its lowest ebb.

Very unfortunate for cricket.

Sorry sir. This is only my views and clearly not to hurt any one as this has paved a way for others to commit the same or similar mistakes under the confident that they can come back any way by the back door.

Sorry sir,

GSViswanathan.

dear kaif,

dont loose heart. in india everything is possible. if u are openly caught taking bribes and televised to the millions and still people are shame less. Anirudh ,the TV man will have a tough time who exposed them. i thought kiran more is bit sensible, might have buckled under pressure...

More says ''..you don't need to know everything about it'' ??
by Bala S Venkata on Dec 24, 2005 07:34 PM

Cmon Chairman More ! You are not kidding are you ? Why don't WE the people need not know about your selectoin policy ? After all you are there because of our ticket and advertisement money ! WE OUGHT to know about why such a whimsical policy is followed.

You owe us a more detailed explanation Mr. More. And you know it.
