What a comback! what a back entry! We can practically see how much politics and politicians have seeped into the system. Poor Chappell, he did not know what he was bargaining for! With this kind of set-up and examples, we are far away from the world cup, 2007 - Chappell not withstanding.

Politics is unavoidable in any sphere of life. One has to face it in Government, bureaucratic offices, among professional sports persons, journalists, among legislators, judiciary, family, art, entertainment, business activities & c. Many people who are not well versed in politics succumb to the scheming and manoeuvring for power and personal advantage by unscrupulous people. People like Ganguly, by virtue of his association with these people, are able to see through the game not only of Cricket, but of Cricket-politics also and are able to expose the weaknesses of Selectors and the Coach. That is why there is a huge support for him. Media and Cricket knowing public are seizing this opportunity in finding out the truth. Ganguly is in a win win situation now whatever happens. That is the hall mark of a leader.
It is indeed sad and strange that Selectors have dropped Mohammed Kaif. It's already been five years since he has been playing international cricket, yet selectors just do not want to give and contineous chances to Kaif. they select him in the side and then drop him for an year or so. He made an excellent comeback against the tough touring Australian side and made an impressive comeback, yet he was dropped. Now just after giving once chance, he has again been axed. There was so much hue and cry for Ganguly but now neither media nor people will say anything over the exclusion of young brilliant Mohammed Kaif. The dirty politics will continue till selectors will remail mere rubber stamps.
this is not cricket ganguly meeitn shrad pawar and then getting selected to team at the cost of md kaif, selecors please maintain ur identity and bcci officials pl dont influnece them. considering the past record of ganguly against genuine pace bowling do u selectors still feels he is the right choice for a place in indian team, what once mohinder amranath said about selectors a bunch of jokers what i feel he is right u people dont selct team on merit u people get carried away. why not mps from uttar pradesh take up the issue of md .kaif being drop from the team why not people take to street against his non inclusion. this definetly not cricket .
At last the selectors have admitted their mistake by including Ganguly in the team. Let's wait how long it takes to return to the Golden Era of TEAM INDIA.
Afterall success in World cup 2007 cannot be possible without the participation of TEAM INDIA with its real Skipper.
Let's also hope good senses will prevail among all concerned.

Looks like only the Bengali's are happy over this decision. I fail to understand why it has become a regional issue. Ganguly was a great player and a great captain, but should now make way for good younger players and should retire gracefully. No point lingering around and losing the respect most Indians still have for him.
